A Statistical Road Condition Survey on Tejgaon-Gulshan Link Road

Abstract –

Actually this survey was made based on the different issues that takes place everywhere which

we did not notice so easily. The aim of this survey is highlight the different types of faults that

are observed. So it is make a possible change so that this never happens.

Purpose of Road-way Condition Survey –

The main purpose of road way condition survey is take initiative and to make a significant

changes that is required for every one of us. It will benefit us all the way.

Data Collection for Road way Condition Survey –

Site & Location – Tejgaon–Gulshan Link Road.

Date – 27/06-2015 to 30/06/15

Day – Saturday to Tuesday

Time – 11:00-12:00 PM

Weather Condition – Sunny

Equipment – Camera (for photography)

No. of Enumerators –

Survey Procedures – The survey procedures generally based on the observations of the

conditions of roads and its effects on pedestrian on daily basis. I have collected the

photos by my own and by this we can come to know the road way conditions of certain

location.

Different cracks & bottlenecks on Road Surface / Qualitative Observation of Road

Surface–

Road Obstructions – Generally the road obstruction usually refers to the items that used

to resist the flow of vehicles & sometimes occurs accidents. Besides it also hampers on

pedestrian while walking through the foot-path.

Due to Inadequate Parking on the Road –

Figure – It shows that due to parking vehicles on the road a huge effect on the traffic flow.

Occupying space for Construction works –

Taking a Turn on the road causes obstruction

Conclusions -

Bangladesh is country with huge potential and a country where communication will be its huge

resources. So , a country like Bangladesh needs to solve all the problems that creates obatcles for

communicating. At first, it need to focus on the roads and highway condition so that it can

progress further. Though the traffic congestion causes a huge problem now a days so it also need

to be solved for better future. Its main aim is to point out the problems that creates problem in all

the way and solve it.
