Managing director and a mobility expert with a special focus on the combination of innovative mobility and gender in urban areas. She co-founded the AEM Institute in November 2020.

Program Manager at the Division for Pedestrian Accessibility, Lisbon City Council, Portugal. Working for the City since 2016, Rita has collaborated on a variety of projects including those addressing safety of women in public transport and public space, Lisbon.

Has served in the Cabinet of the President of the Spanish Congress of Deputies and has been an advisor to the Cabinet of the Minister of Defense and the Spokesman of the Constitutional and Justice Commissions in the Congress. She joined EMT in early 2020 as Director of Institutional Relations and CSR.

SPEAKER

Has more than 25 years international experience in gender,

transport and sustainable development. Her transport and gender

knowledge covers both practical experience and research and she

has worked widely in Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa.

More recently, she has conducted numerous social impact and

gender analyses for international clients, including UN Women

(Papua New Guinea), Asian Development Bank, developing an

inclusive urban transport planning guide for C40 and more! She

was recognised as one of the GIZ's ‘Remarkable Women in

Transport’.
