Library expansion now provides for intensive study in specific subject areas.

Conservationists contribute to the a t tractive patio setting by maintaining plantings.

iff***

Students of art work in a number of media in preparation for a vocation or for esthetic satisfaction.

"John Marshall maintains its position as a leader among the Cleveland schools through educational advancements. The new addition presents an even greater challenge to fulfill the needs of coming Marshallites in a broader curriculum."

Jim Dickinson

Depicted here are scenes of innovations: the culmination of two years expansion program. The first step in JM's renovations is this language lab

oratory. Here tape recorders aid the learning process.

A good drafting background is vital to preparation in the vocational shop field.

A lavish new patio accommodates warm weather dances and teas.

Burgeoning enrollment made necessary the new physical education facility, used after school hours for social activities.

Modem homemakers gain necessary experience in use of the latest equipment.

Another step toward comprehensive vocational training came with the addition of the print shop.

Growing interest in automotive mechanics made this addition a necessity.

Complementing expansion in the vocal music department is an addition to instrumental music.

A restaurant atmosphere is captured in the Tea Room where students in advanced home economics classes prepare and serve luncheons.

Upwards of 2,400 students occupy 312 during the course of the day while student study hall chairmen maintain optimum study conditions.

Twelve John Marshall students were among 14, 000 semi-finalists in the National Merit Scholarship program this year. A booklet listing the names of the semi-finalists is sent to colleges and universities and scholarship-granting agencies throughout the country. Semi-finalists who become finalists receive a certificate of merit and are eligible to receive further consideration for both national and sponsored merit scholarships. The twelve semi-finalists, the most John Marshall has had in the eleven years of the program's existence, illustrated the fact that quality education is available at John Marshall. A student must make sacrifices to achieve and it is apparent that these students have done just this. Congratulations semi-finalists!
