Special areas of note:

• Our Intensive Care Unit helps to guarantee the highest level of safety for our patients. We have a consultant intensivist on-site throughout the day, supported 24 hours a day by a senior registrar intensivist.

• Our Rapid Referral Service offers 24/7 access to on-call consultants for any patients requiring rapid admission. The service features a highly skilled team of doctors, including acute medical physicians, general surgeons, interventional radiologists and anaesthetists amongst others, to ensure we can offer immediate care to your patients at all times.

• At The Lister Fertility Clinic, over 18,300 IVF babies have been born following successful IVF treatment with us. The clinic remains one of the largest units in the UK, and strives to achieve success for patients over 40 as well as couples with complex fertility needs.

The Lister Hospital has been providing outstanding private healthcare since 1985. We look forward to seeing the improvements that are being made every year, which help our services continue to grow, and make our patients happier. The Lister Hospital is ideally located in the heart of Chelsea in London, overlooking the River Thames.

The Lister Hospital has some of the best healthcare facilities in the world, with an excellent range of medical experts. As well as specialising in orthopaedics, gynaecology, dermatology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, and plastic surgery, The Lister Hospital is home to the internationally renowned Lister Fertility Clinic, with success rates that are well above the national average. Furthermore, The Lister Hospital contains 57 beds with inpatient wards on three floors, and a Critical Care Unit with six beds.

Relationship Managers and Events Department

The relationship managers build effective and productive relationships with GPs across London and the home counties. They provide a service for GPs who require assistance with referrals to consultants and hospital services.

The events team deliver a portfolio of events for all HCA UK facilities, ranging from intimate evening lectures to large conferences of up to 300 delegates.

Events are an excellent opportunity to meet our consultants, develop knowledge and network with peers. All attendees receive certificates of attendance which contribute to continuous professional development (CPD). How to find usThe Lister Hospital is situated in Chelsea on the north side of the River Thames. It is within easy access of Sloane Square and Victoria stations with good rail and road links to London’s main airports.

TrainThe nearest mainline station is Victoria. It is about a 15-minute walk from the hospital and has good connections to the Underground system.

UndergroundThe nearest Underground stations are Sloane Square (a 10-minute walk) and Victoria.

By carPlease be aware that local parking facilities are limited and we advise visitors to use the public car parks as shown on the map.

By bus44, 137, 360 and 452 buses stop outside the hospital.

The Urgent Care Centre, based at The Lister Hospital, operates as a walk-in service for urgent medical needs and minor conditions. We’re able to treat a wide variety of medical problems, in fact almost everything apart from life-threatening emergencies.

The centre is fully staffed by a dedicated team of experienced general practitioners and specialist nurses. A range of leading consultants are available if referral and/or admission is necessary.

We aim to provide rapid access to an initial assessment and a broad range of diagnostic equipment to diagnose and treat illnesses and minor injuries such as:

• Acute medical conditions, include breathing difficulties and stomach problems

• General ear, nose and throat conditions and general aches and pains

• Traumatic injuries, including sprains, fractures, sports injuries, cuts, abrasions and other soft tissue injuries.

Patients must be over the age of 18, and initial treatment is on a self-pay basis.

Opening hours 8.00am-10.00pm. Open 365 days a year.

The role of the Pharmacy Department is to support the safe and effective use of medicines for all our patients. We have pharmacies located at the The Lister Hospital that provide the following services:

• Dispensary services – our pharmacy technicians and assistants provide medicines for patients admitted to the hospital, medicines for discharge and those prescribed during outpatient visits.

• Clinical pharmacy services – our highly trained specialist pharmacists work closely with medical and nursing staff on the ward. Their responsibilities include medication review to ensure patients are receiving the safest and most appropriate medication for their needs, provision of medicine information and advice, identification and management of complex pharmaceutical needs for patients and ensuring cost-effective prescribing practices.

• Technical services – our pharmacy technicians and pharmacists prepare specialist anti-cancer medicines in a sterile environment.

Our breast unit offers a highly specialised

one-stop service covering all aspects of

breast care, from diagnosis through to

treatment and aftercare. Breast screening

at The Lister Hospital is available to all

patients, where any irregularities are

found using the latest state-of-the-art

scanning and imaging equipment, such as

digital mammography.

Imaging tests are carried out by our

dedicated breast imaging team,

comprised of consultant radiologists

and radiographers.

Our ICU has nine beds, providing intensive care for both Level 2 and Level 3 patients.

It is fully equipped to provide:

• 24-hour medical support by experienced on-site intensivists and a rota of

consultant intensivists

• Invasive and non-invasive ventilation

• Near-patient testing, including arterial blood gas analysis and TEG
