(ICCOMET-2020) on 27-28 August, 2020 in the association with The Institution
of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) and OSA Student
Chapter-JECRC. This conference was technically sponsored by the International
Journal of Scientific Engineering & Research (IJSER). The conference was well
attended by eminent academicians, faculty members, and students from reputed
technical and educational institutions from different parts of the country.
This conference aims to bring together innovative academicians, researchers, and
industry experts in the field of Communication, Optics, Photonics, and
Microelectronics to a common forum, for a constructive discussion on theoretical
concepts and practical ideas. It also helps in identifying the cutting edge
technological advancements revolutionizing the world.

About 150 papers were received from various universities/colleges. The received
paper has been reviewed through the scrutinizing committee & the reviewed
details have been forwarded to the concern students/participants. After all, the
process carried out totally 57 papers has been selected for presentation. The
selected papers have been published in the special issue of International Journal of
Scientific Engineering & Research (IJSER) (Volume 11, Issue 9, September-2020,
ISSN 2229-5518).
The conference was inaugurated by Chief Guest Professor R. A. Gupta,
Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) Kota, India.
Prof. Saifur Rehman, Director, Advanced Research Institute, Virginia Tech,
USA, Mr. Adam Walls, Business Architect, Program Manager, London, United
Kingdom, Mr. April Staffa, Business development Manager at Ingenia Polymers,
Texas, USA, Dr. Raphael A. Guerrero, Professor, Ateneo de Manila University,
Philippines, Dr. Anna Khan, CEO Suslence Research, Qatar, Dr. Anand
Nayyar, Professor and Scientist, Duy Tan University, Vietnam, Dr. M. N.
Hooda, Director, BVICAM, New Delhi were the Guests of Honour for the
inaugural session. Dr. V. K. Chandna, Principal, JECRC expressed heartfelt
gratitude to all the resource persons, participating researchers, students and
organizers for organizing the international conference.
Dr. Guerrero enlightened the audience about the vital role of an optical signal
consists of a series of pulses produced by switching a laser beam off and on. Its
speed depends on how fast the beam can be switched on and off, and how much
the pulses spread in length during transmission, an effect called dispersion. The
amount of dispersion depends on the type of fiber, the fiber length and the nature
of the optical signal. The more dispersion, the more difficult it is to distinguish
between adjacent pulses. With current technology, different types of fibre can be
combined to reduce dispersion effects, allowing transmission at 10 gigabits per
second for a few thousand kilometres. To achieve faster transmission speeds,
researchers are exploring ways to actively compensate for dispersion.
Dr. Nayyar is enlightened the audience about the area of Wireless Sensor
Networks, Mobile Ad hoc Networks, Swarm Intelligence, Cloud Computing,
Network Security, Software Engineering, Simulation Tools, Information Systems,
Embedded Systems and Future Computing Technologies in Low Power
Consumption, Portable Computing Devices, High-Performance Computing,
Internet of Things (IoT).
In four technical sessions fewer than four different categories titled
Communication, Optics, Nanoscience and other recent research area held over the
two days, 57 papers were presented at the conference.
