Rethinking Beauty Science

Welcome letterSeptember 2023 will be the summer in which Barcelona awaits you to redesign the new paths that will mark the future of cosmetic science.

Rethinking Beauty Science will be the theme that will serve as a central axle to deal with the most current, new and relevant scientific topics, while we will put the pillars of cosmetic research for the following years.

Barcelona, a creative and entrepreneurial city, a sciences, arts, culture and Mediterranean gastronomy high level benchmark, will mark the 33rd IFSCC Congress, from September 4th to 7th organized by the SEQC (Spanish Society of Cosmetic Chemists).

An international congress that, with the complicity of good weather, the sun and the Mediterranean Sea, will bring together the main actors of cosmetic research world, with the aim of knowing and presenting the most relevant studies of the moment in the field of cosmetic science. Four days to explore new knowledge avenues, biological, chemical, instrumental, biotechnological and physiological and, why not, helped by the most advanced technology, blogchain, artificial intelligence, Big data, 3D models, bioengineering.

All this through conferences, posters, exhibitions, keynotes, workshops, dinners, cocktails that will bring together more than 1500 people from the scientific-cosmetic sector.

Rethinking beauty science will be the main objective, grouped into three main themes:

• Rethinking Skin Science: skin, sun, hair and oral care: breakthrough technologies for cosmetic developments promoted by recent scientific research. New substances, new functions, new efficacies, new evaluation techniques.

• Rethinking Beauty: Texture, odor and color, multi-sensoriality. A strong added value to cosmetics, its impact on uses, consumers and marketing. Cosmetic and beauty product experiences backed up by technology.

• Rethinking Nature: Responsible cosmetic development. What have we learned from nature? Towards the guarantee of safer cosmetic products.
