News from Fr. Citino’s Desk
Dear Parishioners, This week we celebrate Catholic Schools Week. The theme this year is “Faith, Excellence, Service”. As I write this letter, I do so with pride and gratitude. I am proud of the long tradition of excellence our school has been known for. I am grateful to God for the blessings received on and through our school, and for the many people who have made Saints Peter and Paul School, all that it has been. Christ is the reason for our Catholic schools. Over the years, our school has assisted many parents in the faith formation of their children. Our faculty has helped the children to establish a personal relationship with God, and prepared them for the reception of the sacraments. Our faith is our strength for the journey, and I am happy that our school has walked with so many on their journey. Academically, Saints Peter and Paul has always excelled. It is a National Blue Ribbon School of Excel-lence. We are proud of the accomplishments of so many of our former and present students. Many have distinguished jobs and careers because of the academic education they received here at Saints Peter and Paul. Our students are given the opportunity to understand what it means to share themselves and their talents through service projects in which they participate. Sharing with others and contributing to the good of socie-ty, is a big part of who we are as Christians and Catholics. To our principal, faculty, staff, Board, and all who are Saints Peter and Paul School Community, I say Thank You. To all who support the mission of our school, I am grateful. God bless us all! Fr. Citino

Caring For Friends, in Need of Meals
Recently, we had a temporary shortfall in our meals program. Everyone quickly and positively answered because we recently added four new clients to the program. These new members were identified by the Eucharistic Ministers who take the Eucharist to shut-ins throughout the parish.
Our present needs requires approximately 60+ meals a week. I am sure if everyone can make a few more meals, we could meet our long term goals.
Please remember if you either DROP off meals, or REMOVE meals, be sure to complete the information on the form on the front of the frig.
Thank you all in advance for your positive and continuous support of our parish mission.
God bless! Greg Cali, Coordinator

Conference Day: “Get Used to Different: Another Look at the Parables”
Tuesday, February 8, 2022 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM
Presenter: Sister Marie Gipprich, IHM Stipend: $40 (included Continental Breakfast, lunch and Mass)
In the popular movie, “The Chosen,” Jesus tells one of his disciples that, if he is to follow Jesus, he better “get used to different.” Jesus spent his ministry pre-senting to others the way to live and love as God would have us. In many instances, Jesus’ words and deeds upset the applecart of traditional Jewish thinking. The parables of Jesus are examples of this. His listeners were invited to look at situations as God would, not as humans would. Join us as we remove the layers of meaning in some well-known parables that present a “different” viewpoint on life in God’s world, and perhaps “see” them through the eyes of the “players.”
Movie With Meaning: “The King’s Speech” Wednesday, February 16, 2022
10:00 AM and 1:00 PM
Stipend: $25 (includes lunch) *Lunch will be served at noon for both groups
England's Prince Albert must ascend the throne as King George VI, but he has a speech impediment. Knowing that the country needs her husband to be able to communicate effectively, Elizabeth hires Li-onel Logue, an Australian actor and speech thera-pist, to help him overcome his stammer. An extraor-dinary friendship develops between the two men, as Logue uses unconventional means to teach the monarch how to speak with confidence. Starring Colin Firth, Helena Bonham Carter and Geoffrey Rush.

PREP Parish Religious Education Program
Dear Families,
In the Luke’s Gospel, we learn about the time that Jesus preached and was rejected in his own hometown of Nazareth. While a few were amazed by what he said, others said, isn’t that the son of Joseph?????
Sometimes we don’t listen to the people we know even though we know that they love and care about us. We may think we know it all. Or we think that they could not possibly be correct. Or we know that they are right but want to do what we want anyway.
Kids—Do your parents ever offer you advice or try to help you with something and you ignore them or make a face and half listen? Parents—Did you ever do this to your parents? Or perhaps a friend?
Today's Gospel shares a similar situation of neighbors not believing who Jesus really was because he was one of them. They felt that there was no way that someone like them from Nazareth would be the son of God but how wrong there were.
So the next time, your parents try to help you, think of today’s Gospel and accept your parents guidance.
With peace and joy,
Miss. Michele
In Jesus’ times, they wrote and read from scrolls. Let’s make a scroll with today’s Gospel on it. You can use the picture as a guide. 1. 1. Print or write on a piece of paper, today’s Gospel.2. 2. Then glue today’s Gospel on a piece of paper that is another col-
or.3. 3. Once you have done this, roll it up and tie it with a piece of ribbon
or string.4. 4. Give it to someone that you look up to as a gift to say thank you
for being there and to let them know they you will listen to them.5. 5. Optional—Add pencils or candy before you roll it up and tie it.
