Finishing School Programme

Sahyadri Educational Institution has gone through leaps and bounds in the past year in order to provide professional and high quality education through its originality of conception, excellence of visual presentation and commitment to accuracy. Pertaining to this, Sahyadri has been acknowledged with numerous accolades from various other institutions,

enterprises and well wishers.The placement activities have been the probable highlight of the institution with over 130 reputed companies from diversified fields of engineering and management who have visited the campus providing employment opportunities for students at the UG and PG level. Sahyadri institute has initiated its streak of acquiring ranks and gold medals at the university level thereby attaining greater heights in academics. Sahyadri students also participated and won prizes in numerous national and international technical events like SAE Baja at Indore, Madhya Pradesh and Kshitij-15 at IIT Khargapur where events based on robotics, mechanical design and fabrication, circuit designing etc. were conducted.Additionally, the college has been ranked 83rd among top private engineering colleges and 35th among top B-schools in India by various surveys conducted by reputed organizations. However, Sahyadri still aspires to maintain the respect and interest owing to strengthen its commitment towards welfare of the society.The Faculty and Research team of Sahyadri is committed to maintain a high standard of research integrity that has always been a characteristic which represents its growth. The ultimate purpose is to engage and strengthen research activities by procuring effective funding from external funding agencies. Dr. Pavana Prabhakar, Professor in the Mechanical Engineering department, University of Texas at El Paso and daughter of Dr. D. L. Prabhakara, Director, Sahyadri Educational Institutions, has been awarded the “Best Young Researcher” by the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR), The United States of America, through its Young Investigator Research Program for her research work on `A Novel Multiscale Design of Interfaces for Polymeric Composites and Bonded Joints using Additive Manufacturing.' She is a Professor of the University of Texas and is sponsored by our Chairman.Dr. Pavana Prabhakar earned her Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and M.S. Ms. Deeksha Bhandari has secured admission in one of the premier institutions, the London School of Economics (LSE) to do her postgraduate program. She has completed her Bachelor of Arts, in Economics, Psychology and Literature at Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. Her higher secondary education at Rishi Valley School, Madanapalli, which follows Jiddu Krishnamurthy's Philosophy of over all development has helped her reach the Student Council as the Vice President of Mount Carmel College, and one of the main organizers of their Cultural festival, called Cul-ah. She is also the elected General Secretary for the Indian Youth Congress, Shimoga Parliamentary Constituency.Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and former President of India K. R. Narayanan are the alumni of LSE. Chapter 27 with the title “Positron Annihilation Spectroscopy: Polymer Blends and Miscibility” pp 877-921 introduces his new method of measuring polymer miscibility level. Extensive literature survey is included in this work and hence the chapter serves as a reference material for researchers and scientists working in the area of polymer blends. The book has been published in two volumes in Oct 2014 with ISBN: 978-3-527-33153-6 and spread over 994 printed pages priced at USD 405 for hardcover bound volumes.
