1.Description1.1 ThisRuleBookreferstotheWaterKingschallenge,takingplaceonJuly4thand5th

2020,heldatMeiaPraiabeachinLagos/Portugal.Theeventisco-organizedbyLufinhaSportsEventsandLagosCityHall.Thisrulebookmayberevisedandupdateduptothechallengedayandifso,theregisteredteamswillbewarned.

1.2 Fromhereonthemembersoftheteamsregisteredattheeventareaddressedtoas“riders”,nomatterwhichsporttheydo.

2.Eventspirit2.1TheWaterKingschallengemaingoalistopromotewatersportsinPortugal,inthiscasespecificallyinLagos,aswellasastrongerunionbetweentheusersoftheseveralexistingsports.Thereforewedecidedtocreatethisinnovatingconceptofteamworkwhereeachteamhasamixof4differentsports.2.2Beyondmixingsportsandencourageteamspirit,weintendtogiveaworldclassuniqueexperiencetotheriders,aswellasanendurancechallengetoovercomeandthechancetopracticetheirwatersportatnight(usuallyforbiddenforthesesports).Therewillalsobeasprintsrace.2.3Theorganizationassumesthatallridershavemanners,refuseanyformsofviolenceandmaintainloyaltyaswellasfairplay,betweenthemselvesandthepublic.Ifthisisnotverified,anyriderorteammaybepenalizedorexcludedfromthechallenge.2.4Duetotheextendedformatofthechallenge,allridersmustkeepasafetydistanceatalltimestoavoidanyrisksofcollisionwithotherriders,boatsorpublic.Duringtheeventtheridersmustbeproactiveinchoosingapaththatminimizestherisksofcollision.2.5Thechallengeisopenedtoprofessionals,amateurs,seniors,juniors,maleandfemale,allperforminginthesameranking,aslongastheyareautonomousriderswithsufficientskillstonavigatewithbothstrongandlightoffshoregustywindandabletoswimgood.

3.Generalrules3.1Allridersmustbeage18orolder,exceptiftheyhaveanauthorizationfromtheirlegalguardian.Evenwiththeauthorization,noriderinthechallengemayhavelessthan13yearsofage.3.2AllridersmustbepresentattheSkippersMeeting,otherwisetheorganizationmayforbidthemtoparticipateinthechallenge.3.3Allridersareobligedtohavetheirowngear,assembledornot,insidetheeventsiteperimeter.Itisforbiddentosetuptheequipmentonthesandoutsidetheestablishedperimeter,subjecttoMaritimePolicefineandgearapprehension.3.4Theridersmayaskforhelpand/oraidotherridersatseaorashoreduringtheevent.


3.5Ifariderisawarethatanotherriderisindangerduringthechallengeatsea,heisobligedtowarnonofthejuryboatslocatednearthebuoysortheorganization,besidesimmediatelyprovidingthebestpossiblesupport.3.6Duringtheevent,allridersmustweartheeventt-shirtorlycraprovidedbytheorganization.Allridersmustbeavailableduringtheeventtogiveinterviewsattheeventsite,wearingtheshirt/lycra.3.7Contactbetweentheridersatseaisforbidden,exceptincaseofemergencysupport.Anycontactthattakesplacecanleadtodeclassificationofeveryoneinvolvedortherider/teamfoundguilty.ThisdecisionwillbemadebytheRaceDirectoronlyandwillbeannouncedafterevaluatingthecollision.3.8Everyrider,alongwithhisteam,isfreetoreturntothebeach(respectingtheeventarea)atanymomentduringthechallenge,torest,changeequipmentand/orswitchwithanotherteammate.3.9Duringthe12hoursofthechallenge,noteamcanhavemorethanoneelementinthewaterpracticingwatersports.Ifthathappenstheteammaybepenalizedorevendeclassified.Thisruledoesn'tapplyiftheriderisparticipatinginaparallelcompetitioninsidetheWaterKings'event.3.10Duringthechallengetherewillalwaysbegivenprioritytothesportswithlessmaneuvercapability.NormalSUPswillalwayshavepriority,thenSUPsusingwing,thenthesailingboatsandwindsurfers(equivalentpriority),andlastthekitesurfers,whomustalwaysavoidallothers.3.11Theridersofwinddrivensportsthatarepassingbyanyotherrider,movedbythewindornot,areobligedtoguaranteeaminimumspaceof3metersbetweentheirowngearandtheoneoftheridertheyarepassing,toavoidaccidents.3.12Regardingprioritiesamongthewinddrivensports,theinternationalsailingrules(ISAF)areapplied.3.13Ariderthatreachesanotheroneisalwaysobligedtoavoidacollision,andinthecaseofKitesurfers,thereachedridermustalsocooperatewiththeonethatispassinghim,bymovingthekiteupordownawayfromtheother.3.14Incaseofriskofcollisionwhenapproachingacoursebuoy,theridersthatareontheoutersidemustgiveenoughspacesothattheonesclosertothemarkcanpassnormally.3.15Itisforbiddenfortheridersortheirgeartotouchthecoursebuoys,nomatterwhatsporttheyareusing.Thebuoysareequippedwithlightsforthenightandanydamageduetocollisionwillbetheresponsibilityoftherider,whomayincurincosts.3.16Whenthereisariskofcollisionbetweenridersofthesamesport,thestarboardtackedriderhaspriorityoveraporttackedrider,whomustchangecourseifneededtoavoidcollision.


-Inthecaseofkitesurf/windsurf,theriderthathastherighthandinfronthaspriority,consideringthestandardpositionofkitesurfing(heelside).-Forkitesurfing,theriderthatisdownwindmustputthekitelowertolettheotherpassupwindwithoutriskofkitescolliding.-InthecaseofSUP,theridersmustavoidcollisionsbyturningtotheirrightside(starboard).3.17Incaseofcollisionandphysicalormaterialdamage,theridersmustsolvethesituationbytheirownmeans.Theorganizationisnotresponsibleforanydamagescausedthatarenotcoveredbytherace3rdpartyinsurance.Theorganizationcandisqualifyoneormoreridersinvolvedinthecollision.3.18Anyriderusingahydrofoil,inanyofthesports,mustavoidatallcostcrossingpathswithriderswithouthydrofoils,inordertopreventcollisionsthatmayresultindamage.

4.Challengeformat4.1.12hours’challengeformat4.1.1Thechallengeismadeinteamsof3or4elements,withoneglobalteamscore.4.1.2Themainchallengewillhavethepredicteddurationof12hourswithoutstops,afterthestart.Forsafetyreasonstheorganizationcaninterruptthechallengeforaperiodoftimeandthenresumeit,aswellasshortenthetotaldurationofthechallenge.4.1.3.Thefinalpartofthechallengewilltakecourseduringthenight,momentwhenthesecuritywillbereinforcedandtheridersmusthaveextraprecautionswhileridingonlywiththehelpofthemoonlightandsignallightsofotherriders,buoysandsupportboats.4.1.4Thechallengewillstartonthedateandtimespecifiedbelow,independentlyofthewindstrength,aslongastheminimumsafetyconditionsaregathered.4.1.5Sincethebeginningtotheendofthechallengeduration,theteams’goalistocompletethemaximumnumberoflapsaroundthecourse.4.1.6Duringtheentirechallengeeachteamcannothavemorethanoneriderinthewateratatime.4.1.7Theridersofeachteammaychoose,atanytimeduringthechallenge,tousetheirKitesurfing,Winsurfing,Sailing(onepersondinghiesonly)orSUPgear.Ridersareallowedtochangeequipmenttothesportthatbestsuitsthatmoment’sweatherconditions.4.1.8AllteamsareobligedtohaveSUPgearandtomakeatleast3completelapsofSUParoundthecourse,independentlyoftheweatherconditions.Eachteammaychoosethebestmomenttodotheselaps,butmustdotheminarowandwarntheorganizationbeforedoingthoselaps.TheteamwillbedisqualifiedifitisnotabletocompletetheSUPlapsduringthechallengeduration.


4.1.9Inordertoqualify–andforitsmemberstobeconsidered"WaterMan"or"WaterWoman"–allteamsmustcompleteatleast60%oftheaveragelapscompletedbythe3firstteams.Theorganizationmayadjusttheminimummandatorylapsiftheyarenotsuitabletotheconditionsandridersregistered.4.1.10Theteammemberthatisinthewatermaynavigatetothetransitionareaatanytimetochangeequipmentand/orswitchturnswithanotherteammember.Thesepitstopscanneverbedoneoutoftheareaindicatedbytheorganizationandifthathappenstheorganizationcanpenalizetheteams.4.1.11AllridersthatareinthewatermustcarryatalltimestheGPStrackerwellattachedtotheirarm.ThiswillallowforagreatersafetyincaseofaccidentandalsoforeverybodyashoretofollowthepositionsandgetaprovisionalrankingbasedonthelapscoveredbytheGPS.4.1.12Theofficialfinalscorewillbeachievedbytheorganization,consideringthebuoycontroljuryandthereplayoftheGPStracking.Duringthecourse,therewillbeaprovisoryrankingdisplayed,basedontheliveGPStrackingsignalthatisnotofficialandmayvaryattheendduetoGPS/GSMsignalerrorsthatarecorrectedwhenthechallengeendsandthefulldataarrives.4.2.HydrofoilandWingSprintformat4.2.1ThegoaloftheHydrofoilsprintsistopromotethisnewtypeofequipmentandtogiveanopportunitytothehydrofoilerstoshowtheirabilitiesandcompeteforthefastestsprints.Wingsprintswillalsobeavailableinthisedition.4.2.2Unlikethe12hchallenge,onthehydrofoilsprintsriderswithsuchequipmentcompeteontheirownandnotasateam.4.2.3ThehydrofoilandWingcompetitionisexpectedtobedonein7sprintsstartingateveryhourfrom13hto19honSaturdayplus4sprintsonSunday,alternatingwiththenormalteamsprintsfrom10h30to14h.Thenumberofsprintscanbereducedduetolackoftimeorsafetyreasons,andatleastonesprintwillbeenoughtoestablishthefinalrankingandawinner.

5.Challengecourse5.1Thechallengecoursewillbebetweentwoyellowcylindermarks(oranotheronesindicatedattheskippersmeeting,whichcanalsobeboats)withatotalperimeterofapproximately1000meters.


5.2Theorganizationmaydecidetomakeanothercourse,andtheriderswillbeinformedattheskippersmeeting.5.3Thecoursepositionanddistancemaybechangedduringthechallengeduetosafetyreasonsand/orotherreasons.Ifamarkposition’sischanged,thejuryboatatthepreviousmarkwillwarntheriders.5.4AttheSkippersMeetingallvisualandsoundwarningsavailabletousebothatseaandinlandwillbeshown,namely,thestart,finish,alteration,pause,resume,backtoshorewarnings,etc.5.5Allridersareforbiddentonavigatelessthan100metersfromthebeachwaterline,exceptinsidethetransitionareachannel,createdspecificallytotheriderstogoinandoutofthebeach/eventarea.Ridersapproachingthebeachoutofthisareaaresubjecttomaritimepoliceheavyfinesandchallengedisqualification.5.6Duringthenightthemarkswillbeidentifiedwithlights.ThecolorwillbespecifiedattheSkippersMeeting.5.7Alltheeventsupportboatswillhavesignallights.Attheskippersmeetingtheorganizationwillidentifythesupportboats.

6.Start/Beginningofthechallenge6.1Thestartlinewillbebetweenamark(orboat)infrontoftheeventsiteandajurymastplacedatthebeach,oritcanbedonewithasmallruninthesand.Attheskippersmeetingtheorganizationwillinformtheprocedure.


6.2Allteamsmustassurethattheirinitialriderisreadyatleast10minutesbeforethestart.6.3Therewillbeflagsandsoundwarningsforthe10,5and1minutespriortothestart,besidesthestartsignal.6.4Inthecaseofastartinthewaterandfalsestartshappening,theindividualcallflagwillgoup–meaningthatsomeriderswereaheadoftime–orthegeneralcall(whichleadstoanewstartprocedure).6.5Inthecaseofastartinthewater,anyriderthatcrossesthestartlinebeforethestartsignalmustgobackandcrossthelineagaintocontinuethechallenge,ortheteamwillbedisqualified.Theorganizationwilltrytowarntheridersthathadafalsestart.6.6Inthecaseofastartfromthebeach,theteammembersnotcompetingmaybeinthewatergrabbingtheequipment(boats,windsurfgear,kiteboards)waitingfortheridercompetingtoreachthemandstartthefirstlap.Theridersthatarenotcompetingmustmoveandmakewayfortheotherteam’scompetitorspasssmoothly.

7.Finish/Endofthechallenge7.1Thefinishlinecaneitherbenearthefirstcoursemark(theoneclosertothebeacheventsite)andaboatoratthebeach.Thiswillbeindicatedattheskippersmeeting.7.2Whenthe12hoursarereached,thejuryboatssoundawarningandraiseafinishflag,alertingtheridersthatitisthelastlap.7.3Fromthatmomenton,allridersmustfinishtheircurrentlapandheadtocrossthefinishlinetoendtheirchallenge.7.4Allridersareobligedtogoimmediatelytothebeachaftercrossingthefinishlineandarenotallowedtostayinthewater.Thismeasureassuressafetyatnightandavoidscollisionswiththeremainingridersstillinthechallenge.7.5Attheendofthechallengeandafterarrivingatthebeach,theteamleadermustimmediatelyreturntheGPS,light,licraandsignthesecuritysheet(checkout)toassurethatnooneisleftonthewater.Failingthisprocedurewillleadtoteamdisqualification.7.6AteamthatfailstodelivertheGPS(200€),strobelight(15€)oreventlicra(30€),willbeforcedtoreimbursetheorganizationfortherespectiveamounts.Theteamleaderwillbeheldresponsible.

8.Transitionarea–Forequipmentand/orteammember8.1Duringthechallengetheridersmaychangeequipmentforthesamesport,changesports,aswellasswitchwithanotherteammember.


8.2Inorderforthetransitionstorunsmoothlyfortheridersandthepublicsurrounding,theymustbemadeinsidetheeventperimeterintheareaspecifiedfortransitions,identifiedattheskippersmeeting.8.3Allswitchesbetweenteammembersmustbemadeinsidethetransitionareawiththeequipmentstopped(kitesonthesand).8.4Theswitchbetweenteammembersshouldbewellthoughpreviouslybytheteammembersatlandandmadewithcaution,becauseitimpliesswitchingtheeventlicra,theGPSdeviceandthehelmet(+lights).8.5Ifarideronlywishestochangeequipment,hemustalsodoitinsidethetransitionarea,withwaistorlessdeepwaterandlaydowntheinitialequipmentbeforereachingforthenewequipment.WhenitcomestoKitesurfing,theinitialkitemustalwaysbelaidonthesandbeforeliftingthesecondkite.8.6Noequipmentchangesareallowedinthewaterwithadepthgreaterthantherider’swaist,noroutsideofthetransitionarea.8.7Forsafetyreasons,sincethestarttothefinish,theteamridersmustindicatetotheorganizationthenameoftheriderthatwenttothewaterandwhatsportheisusing.

9.Sportsallowedatthechallenge9.112HOURS’FORMAT-Theteamscanparticipateinthechallengeinfoursports,andwiththefollowingconditions:THEUSEOFHYDROFOILSISNOTALLOWEDINANYSPORTSONTHE12HOURS’CHALLENGE(Checkhydrofoilsprintsinitem9.2).9.1.1Kitesurf

- Opentoanytypeofboards(twintip,race,hydrofoil,surf,SUP).- Opentoanytypeandsizeofkites(inflatableandfoils).- TheKitesurfersmustbeautosufficientandcapabletogoupwindveryeasily,

becausethechallengewillmostlikelybedonewithcompletelyoffshorewind.- Eachteammustbringtheirownequipment,andthereisnolimitforthenumberof

boards/kitestouse.- Theuseofsafetyreleasewithleashtokillthekitepowercompletelyismandatory.- Kitesurfersmustalwayshavethelineswrappedupinthebarandontopofthekite

whilenotusingthekiteatthebeach.- Forsafetyreasons,Kitesurfingwillnotbeallowedatnight.Afterthesunsetall

Kitesurfridersmustswitchtoanotherofthe3sportsallowed.Theorganizationwillgivethekitedowntimeattheskippersmeeting.

9.1.2Windsurf


- Opentoanytypeofboards(freeride,slalom,race,hydrofoil,wave,SUP).- Opentoanytypeandsizeofsails.- TheWindsurfersmustbeautosufficientandcapabletogoupwindveryeasily,

becausethechallengewillmostlikelybedonewithoffshorewind.- Eachteammustbringtheirownequipment,andthereisnolimitforthenumberof

boards/sailstouse.9.1.3SUP

- Opentoanytype,aslongasitusedbyonepersononly.- TheSUPridersmustbeautosufficientandcapabletorecoverfromcapsizingthe

SUPveryeasily.- Eachteammustbringtheirownequipment,andthereisnolimitforthenumberof

SUPstouse.- ***NEW***RidersareallowedtouseaWingwhileridingaSUPisallowedto

takeadvantageofthewindbySUP.However,hydrofoilboardsarestillforbiddeninthe12hourchallenge.RidersmustprepareinadvanceastrategytodisassemblethewingandfixittotheSUPincaseoftroublegettingforward/back,sothattheycancomebackontheirown.Riderscanandshouldalwaystakeapaddlewiththem,wellfixedtotheSUP.

9.1.4DinghySailing

- Opentoanytypeofdinghysailingboat,aslongasitismadesingle-handed.- Thesailorsmustbeautosufficientandcapabletorecoverfromcapsizingtheboat

veryeasily.- Eachteammustbringtheirownequipment.- TheboatscanbeplacedinthewaterattheLagosSailingClubwateraccesson

Saturdaymorninginordertobeattheeventbeachbeforetheskippersmeeting.- Duringthechallengetheboatsthatarenotbeingusedmustbetakenbyhand

throughthesandtotheeventperimeter,wheretheyshallstaywithoutthesails.9.2HYDROFOILSPRINTFORMAT

- Allkindsofhydrofoilsareallowedforallfoursportssprints,aslongastheyaremadeforindividualusageonly.

- Anykindofmotorized/electricHydrofoilsisnotallowed.9.3WINGSPRINTFORMAT

- AllkindsofhydrofoilboardsandwingsareallowedfortheWingsprints,aslongastheyaremadeforindividualusageonly;

- Ridersshouldbringbigboardstoallowtoperformalsoinlightwindconditions;

10.Equipment


10.1Allteamsareresponsibleforbringingtheirownsportsequipment.Therewon’tbeanycategoriesorotherspecialqualificationsfordifferentequipmentusedbytheteams.10.2Everyteammayonlybringequipmentforthesportsthatwilluseatthechallenge,however,SUPequipmentisalwaysneededtomaketheminimummandatorylaps.10.3TheteamsthathavesailingdinghiescanusetheLagosSailingClubwateraccesstoputtheboatsinthewaterSaturdaymorningandtakethemoutSundayafternoon,forfree.AfterthechallengeonSaturday,theboatsmustbekeptprotectedinsidetheeventsiteperimeterwithoutsails.10.4TheridersshouldarriveattheeventsiteSaturdaymorethanonehourbeforetheskippersmeetingtocheck-inandsetuptheequipmentinsidethedesignatedareas,sothatallgearisreadyattheskippersmeeting.10.5Teamsareallowedtotesttheequipmentonthewaterupuntil20minutesbeforethestart,timeatwhichallridersmustgetoutofthewatersothattheareaisclearforthestart.10.6Forsafetyreasonstheuseofahelmetismandatoryduringtheentireeventandawetsuitisalsomandatoryafterthesunset.Theuseofawetsuitduringthewholechallengeisalsorecommendedtoavoidsunburnsandtomaintainthebodytemperature.10.7Besidestheteam’sownequipment,theteammemberthatisonthewaterridingmustuseatalltimestheeventlicra(ontopofanybackpacks,etc)andGPStrackingdeviceprovidedbytheorganization.10.8After18h00,allridersmusthavetheprovidedlightstickspoweredonandattachedtothehelmetandequipment,toensurethatatsunseteveryoneisvisible.10.9Theorganizationhighlyrecommendsallteamstobringacommunicationsystem(walkie-talkieinwaterproofbag)tobeabletospeakwiththeteammemberatsea.Pleasebeawarethatmanywalkie-talkiesystemshaveonly8channelsandmayhearotherteamscommunications.Thiswillensuremoreefficiencyandsafetyfortheteam.

12.Safety12.1Theorganizationwillassurethemaximumlevelpossibleofsafetyandrescuewithseveralsupportboats.12.2Besidesthesupportboats,theorganizationwillhaveallthenecessarymedicalemergencymeans,namelyanambulanceneartheeventsitetoperformaquickevacuation,providedbytheLagosCityHall.12.3Allteammembersthatarenotinthewaterareresponsibleforcontrollingtheirriderinthewater.Besidesthevisualcontrol,therewillbeaTVplasmaattheeventsitewhereteamscanchecktheirrider’spositionlive.Ifitseemsthatthereisaproblem,theteammustwarntheorganizationimmediatelytosupporttheriderinthewater.12.4Theorganizationisnotresponsibleforanyaccidentsordamagesthattheridersmaysufferduringtheevent.Thesameappliestodamagescausedbytheriders,asaresultofbadconductordisrespectbytherules.12.5Ifariderdoesn’tmeettheminimumtechnicalandphysicalneedstoenterorfinishthechallengesafely,theorganizationhastherighttopreventtheriderfromenteringthechallenge,ortotakehimoutfromthewaterduringthechallenge.12.6Theuseofthehelmetismandatoryatalltimesinthewater.Itistheteam’sresponsibilitytobringatleastonehelmettothechallenge.Itismandatorytouse2lightsticksattachedtothetopofthehelmetafter18h00.12.7Incasethattheorganizationrequestsit,theridersmustshowavalididentificationcard.12.8Kitesurfingwillnotbeallowedafterthesunset,duetothedangerthatthelonglinesrepresenttoallridersparticipatingduringthenight.ThereforeitisrecommendedthatallteamswithKitesurfridersshouldhaveanotherwinddrivensportforthenighttime.


13.Scoreboard13.1ThechallengewillhaveonesingleScoreboardwherealltheteamswillbelisted,despitethegender,age,teamelementsorsportsusedatthechallenge.13.2Thefinalscoreisachievedbythenumberoflapsthateachteamdoestothecourseduringthe12hchallenge,aftertheapplicationofpossiblepenalties.Themorelapsateamdoes,thehighertheywillrank.13.3Incaseoftiedteams(numberoflaps),thefirstonetopassatthefinishlinewillbefirst.13.4Besidesthecompetition,thereisalsotheWaterKingschallenge,forwhichtheteamsmustdoatleast60%oftheaverageofthelapsdonebythefirst3teamsrankedtoovercomethechallengeandbeconsideredWaterMen/Waterwoman.Iftheorganizationdecidesthattheminimumnumberoflapsisnotadequatetotheconditionsandtypeofriders,thispercentagecanbeadjusted.13.5Theremaybeextracategoriesforprizesthattheorganizationwillconfirmbeforetheevent,namelythebestfeminineteam,theteamwithmorelapsineachsport,sprints,etc.

14.Prizes14.1Theisaprizemoneytobeofferedtothefirstthreeteamswithmorelapsaroundthetrack,inthefollowingamounts:

1stplace=1.000€ 2ndplace=700€ 3rdplace=500€Note:tocollecttheprizestheteamleadermustpresentaninvoice/receiptoftheamount+VATifapplicable.Ifthatisnotpossible,theorganizationcanpaydirectlywithoutanydocumentbuthastoretain28%(mandatorybylaw).14.2Therewillbethe“LuckyWaterTeam”prize–300€-raffledbetweenalltheteamsthathavesuccessfullyovercometheWaterKingschallenge,exceptforthe3firstteamsandtheonesdisqualified.

15.PenaltiesandbadconductInthecaseofariderbreakingtherules,theracedirectorcanapplyapenalty,relatedtothegravityofthesituation.Itisconsideredadisrespectoftheruleswhenarider:

- doesnotrespecttherulesoftheeventorbehavesinananti-sportsmanner.- doesnothavethehelmetandeventlicraatsea.- doesnotusesthelightsticksontheequipment,orthestrobeborrowedbythe

organization,afterthesunset.


- navigateslessthan100mofthebeachoutsidethein/outchannelcreatedfortheevent.

- doesnotswitchplacesorequipmentinsidethepropertransitionzone.- collideswithanotherrider.- Pollutesthebeachortheseainanyway.

ThedecisionsoftheRaceDirectorarefinalandcannotbealtered.

16.Registeringfortheevent16.1Theregistrationiscompleteafterthefollowing3steps:

ii) Paymentofthetotalvalueoftheteamregistration(onepaymentonlywiththetotalamountoftheteamtotheIBAN-PT50003600009910590567360/Associação+MAR):

Teamsof3(alreadyincludeshydrofoiland/orwingsprints):BeforeJune14th=90€(30€/rider);BeforeJune21st=105€(35€/rider);BeforeJune25th=120€(40€/rider).Teamsof4(alreadyincludeshydrofoiland/orwingsprints):BeforeJune14th=120€(30€/rider);BeforeJune21st=140€(35€/rider);BeforeJune25th=160€(40€/rider).Individualhydrofoilsprints:BeforeJune14th=30€;BeforeJune21st=35€;BeforeJune25th=40€.

Registrationsarelimitedtothefirst25teamsconfirmed.Theregisteredteamswillbeorderedbypaymentreceptiondate.16.4Fillingoutandsendingthepre-registrationformonlinebyateamthatdoesn’tmakethetotalpaymentneitherguaranteestheplacefortheteamnorstandslikeareservationforoneoftheavailablespots.16.3Theorganizationintendstofacilitatethecreationofteamsbyintegratingridersfromtheseveralsportsinterestedinparticipateonthechallengebutlackingteammembersforothersports.Inthatcase,theridershouldwritethathe/sheislookingforateamonWaterKingsfacebookpageand/orsendusanemailstatingthename,age,sport,[email protected].

17.OthermattersAnycasenotaddressedinthisregulationwillbesolvedatthesitewiththeracedirector.Ifthereisadisputeabouttheinterpretationofthisregulationand/oraconflictsituation,thedecisionoftheRaceDirectorwillalwaysbefinal.

18.ParticipatingconditionsByregisteringtoWaterKings2020atLagos,eachteammemberisawareandagreesthat:18.1Knowshowtoswimwellandhasenoughtechnicalskillstoparticipateinoneoftheacceptedsportswithoutputtinghishealth,orthepersonsaround,indanger.18.2Intheeventofnotbeingabletofulfillthechallengesafetyrequirements,theorganizationmayrecovertheriderfromthewaterintotheboatandpreventtheriderfromcontinuing.18.3Theorganizationmaycanceltheeventbysafetyreasons,likestorms,badseaconditions,orothersituationsthathaveastrongprobabilityofputtingthephysicalintegrityoftheridersindanger.Inthiscasetherewillbenoreturnoftheregistrationfees.18.4Canbephotographedandfilmedduringtheevent,andallowsthoseimagestogopublicandbeusedbytheorganizationforpromotionalpurposes.18.5Eachrider'sparticipationwillonlybevalidafterthereturnofthesignedwaiveratthecheckin.18.6Eachriderknowstheeventregulationandisawareoftheparticipationconditions.
