11 Important information

11.1 Service comments

11.1.1 Adjustable Call Forward Timer for Hunting Groups The call forward timer for hunting groups can be configured in the Manager. In the versions lower than V3 the timer for hunting groups is fixed (the same as the CFNR timer). Combo box was added in Advanced folders \ Groups \ Hunting group \ Hunt Advanced Timer. This new timer must to be a multiple of 5 seconds (up to 120 seconds). For each hunting group a different timer can be programmed. The default value for this timer is 20 seconds.

11.1.2 GSM/SIP box support with LCR The Trunk Group and Trunk Group Overflow controls were associated by carrier instead of by destination as in the versions lower than V3. Due to that, all destinations with a common carrier use the same trunk and trunk group overflow. If the user changes the trunk group associated to the carrier, all rules with this carrier changes to this trunk group. In this new version the user can configure carriers with the same number but with different trunk groups. See an example below:

Notice that the carriers are the same but the trunk group fields are different. This behavior is possible only in versions of HiPath 1200 Manager V3 or greater. Each tab has its own Default Carrier. In HiPath 1200 versions lower than V3 the Default Carrier is by system. The Default Carrier by system of old backup versions is reflected to all tabs when the restore operation was performed (database conversion). Otherwise when the user clicks on the “Apply to all regions” button, the selected Default Carrier is copied for all tabs.

11.1.3 Day and Night rules for door call In the versions lower than V3 the ring assignment for door calls is fixed, independent if night answer is set. This requirement is to set night and day ring assignments for door calls. In Advanced folders \ Entrance telephone \ Ring assignment, it is possible to set different attendants for day and night groups. The default attendant is the first analog extension (13) for day and night groups

11.1.4 Call forward No Answer administrable within Manager A new specific view was created in Advanced -> Extension -> Call Forward No Answer. This view allows the user configure the CFW No Answer for each extension. The configuration can be set for each extension (availability and destination number) in a new view in Manager. The restrictions remain the same as in the system software: maximal 8 CFNR to external destinations (20 digits number), no restriction for internal destinations. The “Number to be called” edit box is disabled if eight extensions have been entered.

Possible values for destination field are: off, extensions, trunk groups, call groups, voice mail group (UCD group) or virtual ports.

Call forward No answer configured via manager has higher priority over External call forward flag. This means that it is possible to configure an external call forward No answer via manager even if the external call forward flag is disable.

Release Note page 22 (of 30) HiPath 1200 V3.0 R1.32.0

11.1.5 Increase the entries for Class of Service Lists The Permissions and Prohibition lists (List1 and List2), in the view Adv. - Class of Services were increased for the HiPath 1200. In the versions lower than V3, the Class of Service lists have the configuration (number of entries) as shown in Table 1:

Permission List Prohibition List List1 4 4 List2 10 10 List3 25 35

Table 1 COS lists entries of versions lower than V3

The requirement here is to increase the number of entries as shown in Table 2: Permission List Prohibition List List1 10 10 List2 25 25 List3 25 35

Table 2 COS lists entries of HiPath 1200 V3

11.1.6 Import of LCR spread sheets from „Telefonsparbuch“ Notice that this feature can be used for both HiPath 1100 and HiPath 1200 systems but there must be an available service or site which attends to the country by providing the LCR configuration file in the defined format, as www.telefonsparbuch.de.

Two new options were included in Advanced folders \ LCR: import and export LCR archive. The user is able to import a LCR archive or export the already configured rules. When the user imports the LCR file the already configured rules were deleted. Before performing this operation, a message box is shown, asking the user if he wants to keep or lose the already configured carriers (Carrier Name, Carrier Code, Trunk Group and Trunk Group Overflow by carrier). If he chooses to keep, the already configured carriers are kept. If he chooses to lose, the already configured carriers are overwritten. The rules can also be imported or exported from the offline Manager mode.

The XML is the standard format used to read/write a LCR archive. If the user tries to open an invalid archive, a message box is shown informing that the format is invalid. This new feature is compatible with older versions of PBX (HiPath 1200 V2.1 and V2.0). Please refer to restriction chapter for this feature.

11.1.7 Customer database for HiPath 1000 Manager New file option “Profile manager” was added in manager tool. In the project wizard dialog the user can Create, Edit, Delete Profiles and Connect/Open and Close management projects. A project is a structure that helps the user to organize several scenarios (e.g. different customer or different connections). It is possible to create an offline profile associated to a database backup. The profile manager can not create the database, it uses and existent database backup. The option to save the current connection to a project is also provided via option in tool bar: File \ Save profile or Save profile as. By the properties button it is possible to set the parameters of the respective connection mode, the properties are the same of the CommServer graphic interface; A special connection type is added: “CommServer in another machine”. It enables the configuration of CommServer address and port. It is not change the configuration of local CommServer.

11.1.8 Services View Allow the user to view the services already programmed in the PBX. A new tab view was created: Advanced -> Services. The user is able to verify the service status for each extension, trunk, MSN or by system. The services available to consult in manager tool are listed below: The following general services are shown:

Release Note page 23 (of 30) HiPath 1200 V3.0 R1.32.0

1. Call Forwarding Unconditional

2. Call Forwarding for No Reply

3. Call Forwarding on Busy

4. UCD group login

5. Handsfree answer back

6. Data transmission

7. Headphone

8. Electronic lock

9. Call Group/ Hunt group login

10. CLIR

11. Do not Disturb

12. CW Tone

The following services per MSN are shown:

1. Call Forwarding MSN (Immediate, No Answer and Busy)

2. Busy by Busy

The required functionalities are:

1. Backup of Services status and parameters. It enables to keep customer configuration after a software update when there is database layout incompatibility.

2. New backup option to include or not include entire Services status and parameters in backup.

3. Software Update Tool performs backup saving and restoring including Services status and parameters, when a database incompatibility between versions is detected.

11.1.9 Get applications logs and PC/PBX information The user must have write permission or be an administrator to use this feature. A new dialog in the CommServer was created to save information from PC and PBX and send by e-mail. To access this dialog, the user must click in the link “Issuing and Sending Log Data…” in Communication Server Properties dialog In the configuration dialog, the user can configure the support e-mail address, save directory and select application to get the logs. The user can start/stop log and send the current information through e-mail or save it. The following logs can be activated: CommServer Service, CommServer GUI, Manager, Software Update and Telephone Text Translator tool. It is not possible to activate the log when two instance of the same application is running (e.g. Manager tool)

Release Note page 24 (of 30) HiPath 1200 V3.0 R1.32.0

When the user chooses the option “Send e-mail”, all collected information is compressed in a file and is attached to the e-mail. The e-mail body text has a text informing that the user is sending all his PBX information, for example, backup file. When the user chooses the option “Save in a directory”, all collected information is compressed in a file and is saved in the selected directory. The default directory is the temporary directory. After this operation, the user sees a message box informing that all his PBX information, for example, backup file were compressed. The option “Save in a directory” is used only to save the compressed file, the log files is always generated in C:\Trace and there is no possibility to change this directory. Due to data privacy and data security, it is not possible to get the log files remotely.

11.1.10 Save of the Trace Configuration into KDS and Default Configuration of Trace

The requirement is to keep the trace configured and running after a power-down or a software update events without the user intervention (the user does not need to reconfigure the Tracer). The PBX saves the information in the KDS area. Although, only the configuration and state is saved, the trace data information is lost when these events occur (this does not occur for the MOH Trace).

11.1.11 Activation (profiles) and download of trace via Manager A new view was inserted in the System Settings in order to allow the PBX Trace configuration. This view is available only in the restricted mode and is not present in offline mode. This feature is used only for development for capture trace.

11.1.12 Offline Convert database A new file dialog was created in the File menu; this entry allows the user to convert a backup file to newer releases. Only backup files saved from version 2.1 (for HiPath1200) are supported in this operation. The user can choose to create a file from version 3.0 or 2.1 for HiPath1200. Databases of released versions lower than V2.1 can not be converted in offline mode, but can be restored in on line mode. The open operation was not modified. Existent files is opened using the same release that the file was saved. For example, a file from version 2.1 is opened using the DLL from version 2.1 and a file from version 3.0 is opened using the DLL from version 3.0.

11.1.13 Microsoft Windows Vista HiPath 1200 applications now support Operational System MS Windows Vista for both versions x32 bits and x64. There’re no changes at current applications features.

11.1.13.1 User Privileges Requirements The HiPath 1200 applications require administrator privileges to run. The consent and credential prompts are displayed on the secure desktop by default in Windows Vista, and these prompts will show also for all HiPath 1200 Applications. These prompts for credentials checking are part of User Account Control (UAC).

11.1.13.2 User Account Control (UAC) User Account Control (UAC) is a feature in Windows Vista that can help prevent unauthorized changes to computer. UAC does this by asking for permission or an administrator password before performing actions that could potentially affect user computer's operation or that change settings that affect other users (e. g. CommServer connection type settings). The user account control could be turned on by default, but it could be turned off by an Administrator user accessing the Windows User Accounts panel.

11.1.13.2.1 UAC ON Administrator users will be request to allow applications execution right after its execution. Standard users will be request to enter an Administrator password.

11.1.13.2.2 UAC Off Administrators could execute applications immediately.

Release Note page 25 (of 30) HiPath 1200 V3.0 R1.32.0

Standard users will not be able to execute applications because they don’t have privileges to start the CommServer Service, so the applications will run but can’t communicate to PBX because of CommServer service stopped.

11.1.13.2.3 UAC Restriction The user can not change UAC mode (on / off) after HiPath 1200 applications were installed. After installing the CD the same UAC mode should be used. If is necessary to change to UAC mode the user will have to Uninstall HiPath 1200 applications before doing any changes, so that user could change the UAC mode and for last a new CD installation must be done.

11.1.13.3 Service Packs 1 and 2 The HiPath 1200 Applications are ready for Windows Vista Service Packs 1 and 2, which could be used and it’s also recommended, but it’s not a pre-requisite.

11.1.13.4 Windows Vista 64 Bits The HiPath 1200 applications are release for MS Vista x64 bits version, but the application will run at 32 bits mode.

11.1.13.5 Sleep or Hybernate Mode Communication Server will prevent the OS Vista to sleep or hybernate by timeout when it is connected to PBX. However, the service will not prevent the sleep or hybernate state if the user forces it (pressing button or closing the lid).

11.1.14USB and CAPI Drivers A New Version of USB and CAPI Drivers were released to be used with MS Windows Vista. This Drivers Version will substitute the old Drivers for MS Windows Vista, XP and 2003. Windows 2000 Users must use the old Drivers that will keep available in HiPath 1200 CD.

Release Note page 27 (of 30) HiPath 1200 V3.0 R1.32.0

After the user selects one operation a new Windows will be shown with the installation progress, see picture in the following:

Windows will request the user for Publisher Security (digital signature), you must accept the installation. This request will be repeated several times, it’s necessary to confirm all them. At Windows Vista it’s possible to check the option Always trust publisher as shown in the picture bellow, so this window won’t occur anymore.

Release Note page 28 (of 30) HiPath 1200 V3.0 R1.32.0

After installation is done plug the USB cable and Windows will finish automatically the installation of Drivers. Important:

• Windows may prompt to user if desire to Install New Hardware (after reconnect the USB cable) manually or automatically. Always choose the option automatically.

• Windows 2003 might spend much time (several minutes) to recognize Hardware Changes and for this reason is recommended to user wait much time if the installation doesn’t stat right after connecting the USB cable.

11.1.14.1.3 Removing New Drivers To uninstall new USB and CAPI Drivers access the Windows Add/Remove programs from Control Panel. Select in the installed list “Siemens USB Driver V2 Management Center“, for Administration Drivers or “CallBridge for Data V2 Management Center”, for administration and CAPI Drivers.
