Date - 16th April, 2021 (Friday) NOTIFICATION FOR ALL THE PERCIEVERS OF THE NEWS LETTER A class wise “GOOD HANDWRITING COMPETITION” was held in the Primary wing of Raja Rammohan Roy Academy on the 16th of April 2021. The aim was to influence the children to adopt and write beautifully throughout the Academic year. Ten best entries were selected by the class teachers and forwarded to the judges. The judges fairly selected the best handwritings and allotted them positions. Children participated enthusiastically and presented beautiful scripts. ‘Movie Time’ Activity for Class I was conducted online through Zoom on 23th April 2021 (Friday). In this pandemic time, for some entertainment the movie named ‘The Selfish Giant’ was shown to the students. The objective of showing the movie was to enhance their listening skills, vocabulary and creativity. The Moral is of the movie was, “Happiness through true love and selflessness”. The movie taught the students that, “The best feeling of happiness is when you are happy as you have made someone else happy”. Children were asked to draw their favourite scene from the movie. They were encouraged and reinforced positively.

Students enjoyed the movie and it was a change for them for their daily online classes.

As the small children are fond of watching cartoons, they took great interest in watching the fun animated movie. The movie was very attractive and colorful that immersed the enthusiasm of the students .Children were able to understand the dialogues well as the vocabulary used was appropriate for them. They enjoyed watching the frequent appearance of the Genie. It was a superb entertainment for the children. Students should be provided with such opportunities more frequently so that they can inculcate the habit of watching English movies and can upgrade their English communicative Skills too.

Students of all the sections of Class-III were shown the movie, ’Hansel and Gretel’ on 22nd April 2021. The movie was shown in the online class by the class teachers.

The students enjoyed watching the movie. Some students had to bear with technical glitches. The class teachers discussed the story with the students after the movie was over. The objective of Movie Time was not only to break the monotony of daily teaching learning sessions but also give the students an exposure to English language. The discussion at the end helped the students to comprehend the moral of the story in a better way.

Yesterday I watched a movie with my classmates. The title of the movie was Hansel and Gretel. The movie was made for children. I was eating pop corn while watching the movie. It was a good movie. The lesson I learned was that we should never lose faith and always try to find solution to the problem that has come before us. Vanya Deorani III-A

The Character I Liked In The Movie I Watched. I watched a movie in my online class on Thursday. Hansel was the character I liked the most, because- a) He was very charming.

b) He was very intelligent, clever and brave.

c) He was very loving and caring brother.

d) He protected his sister from their cruel step mother and also from the witch.

NAME: THE PIED PIPER OF HAMELIN (1957)

FEEDBACK: The movie was an entertaining and welcoming change for the students. It increased their interest. They very confidently and excitingly quoted many parts from the movie which they liked a lot and few which they did not like. The children enjoyed the humour and the music.

A You Tube link of the famous movie” Treasure Island” was shared with the students on the 22nd of April for their entertainment and thrill.

It’s an adventurous movie liked by most of the children. A feedback of movie was taken by the respective English teachers. In which the following expressions of the students were notified. The story was taken from the famous classic novel” Treasure Island” written by Robert Louis Stevenson. It’s a movie on pirates. The m a i n c h a r a c t e r , young Jim H a w k i n s h e l p s his parents run an inn near Bristol, England. The movie is full of adventurous scenes It is a 1950 live-action movie produced by Walt Disney directed by Byron Haskin. Jim Hawkins is a daring and admirable character. Few children enjoyed watching for more than one time. The motive was to encourage children to watch children’s adventure movies and to upgrade their English. It’s a unique initiative by Head Mistress Mrs. Anju Bhalla to not to keep the children glued to books but also to add entertainment to their lives and keep them rejuvenated.

ACTIVITY INCHARGE - Mrs Shipra Arora and Mrs Reena Singhal To encourage and enhance Creative Development, a virtual poster making competition was conducted on 1st May 2021 for classes III, IV and V. The number of participants was fixed at four from each section. The outcome was much more encouraging than expected. Students did remarkable work and showcased their creativity and imagination.
