A BRIEF PROFILE

Dr. Jamil Ahmad was born in 1957 and is serving as a Professor and Principal in Gandhi Faiz-e-Aam College, Shahjahanpur. He has served the department of Zoology as Chairman/ Head since last one decade. He worked in the field of toxicology and insect ecology during his Ph.D. and M.Phill. at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University and Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, respectively. He has a vast experience of teaching Zoology for over 38 years. He has guided six Ph.D. students along with one Post Doctoral Fellow. Prof. Jamil has published his research in various international and Indian refereed journals. He also served as a reviewer and member of numerous national and international academic societies and editorial board of Journals.

He served as panel expert in the selection committees of Assistant Professor of Zoology for various colleges of M.J.P. Rohilkhand University since last two decades. He also appointed as observer in various examination at different colleges of M.J.P. Rohilkhand University, Bareilly. He performed different academic activities in various years at M.J.P. Rohilkhand University, Bareilly i.e., Coordinator for Evaluation, Convenor of Flying Squad, Senior Superintendent Examination, Member of Board of Studies, Programme Officer of National Service Scheme (NSS) etc.

Prof. Jamil Ahmad served his college in different ways since about last four decades viz., Senior Superintendent of Examination, President of Salim Ali Zoological Society, Convenor of Admission Committee, Convenor of Counseling Committee for B.Sc. Bio group, President of Football and Athletic Club, Sport Secretary, Proctor, Media In-charge, Secretary of Teachers Association etc.

In the department of Zoology, Dr. Jamil Ahmad organized two days National Conference sponsored by Department of Higher Education, Government of Uttar Pradesh. Recently, he started extension services in three most important small industries i.e., Sericulture, Apiculture and Vermiculture. This step will also increase the economy of the farmers of Uttar Pradesh. In his valuable guidance, college make a record in achieving positions in different fields viz., NCC, NSS, RR, Sports, Cultural activities, besides teaching. Moreover, his continuous efforts to make the college pride, and in this way college achieved first rank in promotion of plantation and swachchh Bharat Mission in the district Shahjahanpur.
