HITLER: UNCOVERING HIS FATAL OBSESSIONSYNOPSISThe release of this documentary series will mark the year WWII became the most catastrophic conflict in human history. From the 1920s a detestation of the Soviet Untermenschen had been a central part of Hitler’s ideology. A war with Soviet Russia was always a precondition for the success of his racial vision; for the flourishing of Aryan man. When Hitler did eventually invade Russia in 1941, it took the Soviets entirely by surprise – until this point, the two nations had been freely cooperating. What followed was a campaign of unparalleled barbarism, on a scale of destruction unmatched in history. The Red Army’s disastrous initial response would gradually be turned around through elemental spirit, enormous human sacrifice and strategic intuition. Some of the most famous battles in the history of warfare would pan out through this epochal struggle. Eventually, the Soviet
‘steamroller’ would turn things around, repelling the invaders, recapturing scarred, lost territory, and marching all the way to Berlin, where the Hammer and Sickle would fly from the Reichstag; the Untermensch now standing astride Hitler’s capital. The partition of Berlin would follow, setting the scene for the Cold War and 50 years of Communist domination in Eastern Europe.

RAILWAY MURDERSNEW
SERIE
S SYNOPSIS As early railway travel became popular with the British travelling public, luggage thefts were common and violent robberies occurred from time to time.
Many opponents of the railways painted a gloomy picture of the prospect which faced the lone passenger in the unlit carriages.
Trains in those days were not corridor connected, and men were robbed and women assaulted often enough to provide pessimists and hostile sections of the press with plenty of material.
The first railway murder, however, did not occur until 1864. It was one of the most sensational crimes of the century.
This new drama-documentary series, presented by Nicholas Day and from the same team that produces Murder Maps, looks at some of the murders that took place on the British Railway network from the 1800’s to the 1950’s.

SYNOPSIS
J A M E S I
Following the death of Queen
Elizabeth I in 1603, James VI of
Scotland claims her throne along
with a new title of King James I of
England. He faces numerous attempts
on his life, including the notorious
Gunpowder Plot, and the threat of
the terrifying Thirty Years War.
C H A R L E S I
Charles I succeeds his father James I
in 1625. Religious upheaval along with
Charles’ dismissal of Parliament and
authoritarian rule eventually leads
to a civil war. In the end, a King is
beheaded and a Commoner named
Oliver Cromwell seizes power.
C H A R L E S I I
Cromwell’s Commonwealth ends
and in 1660 an exiled King returns
to London with enormous fanfare.
Charles II’s reign is a dramatic shift
away from the rule of the Puritans
but the worst outbreak of plague in
generations and the Great Fire of
London strike the nation’s heart.
J A M E S I I
James II succeeded his brother Charles
II in 1685. A Catholic monarch of a
Protestant nation. The last of the
Stuart Kings would reign for only three
years and it would be his own daughter,
Mary, who would cause his downfall.

S Y N O P S I S This series tells the compelling story of the Vietnam War, from the country’s dynastic history, the impact of Christian missionaries & French colonialism, Japan’s invasion during WWII and the rise of Ho Chi Minh. How the USA’s fear of communism started a relentless sequence of events that caused American troops to go in under President Kennedy in 1961, escalating under Lyndon B. Johnson in 1965 when the nation found itself entwined in a war fought nightly on TV engendering a huge anti-war movement. By 1973 Nixon had resigned and America was forced to withdraw from Saigon on April 30th 1975.
Featuring contributions by war correspondents Bob Simon (NBC) and Michael Nicholson ( ITV), journalists & writers, George Lois, Jon Swain, Nigel Cawthorne and Bill Hayton.

H I T L E R – G E R M A N Y ’ S F A T A L A T T R A C T I O NS Y N O P S I S 20th Century Europe is in a state of flux, the perfect conditions for the formation of the most terrifying political organization history has seen, the Nazis. How was the country of Germany seduced by them? Was a whole nation under the spell of the Nazi Party or did the hope of a better life quickly turn sour once the killing began? All these questions are answered as we track the birth, rise and ultimate demise of Hitler and the Nazi Party.
