NDC Reunion 2020The Commandant, NDC Lieutenant General Sheikh Mamun Khaled, SUP, rcds, psc, PhD in his welcome address, greeted all the guests present and expressed his gratitude to Hon’ble President for gracing the occasion as the chief guest. He expressed his pleasure to have arranged the Grand Reunion 2020 on the very onset of the “Mujib Year” the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu sheikh Mujibur Rahman. All Ex- Commandants, all alumni, all the faculty and staffs old and new, Chiefs of services and many other senior military and civil services officers attended the program.

National Defence Course-2020 commenced on 26 January 2020. The Course is comprised of 82 officers that includes 41 officers of armed forces, 16 officers from civil services and 25 officers from allied countries of the rank of Brigadier General/Colonel and equivalent. The 11 month long course is divided into four terms. Each term is of 10 to 12 weeks long, concentrating on key aspects of Strategic Context and Leadership, Security Studies and National Security, Strategy and Policy Formulation and Global and Regional Studies .

Armed Forces War Course (AFWC)-2020 commenced on 04 February 2020. The course is comprised of 52 officers of the rank of Colonel/Lieutenant Colonel of Bangladesh Army and equivalent of Bangladesh Navy and Air Force. AFWC is a joint services course which focuses on operational level planning and conduct of war.

16 March 2020, National Defence College (NDC) organised a Panel Discussion on “Life of Bangabandhu” to mark the birth centenary of the Greatest Bengali of all time and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The session was moderated by Mr. Mafidul Hoque, Board of Trustee, Liberation War Museum. Professor Shamsuzzaman Khan, Former Director General of Bangla Academy, Mr. Muhammad Zamir, Former Ambassador and Dr. Atiur Rahman, Former Governor of Bangladesh Bank presented keynote papers on “Bangabandhu as Politician”, “Bangabandhu as Statesman” and “Bangabandhu as Leader” respectively. The discourse highlighted different aspects of the Life of Bangabandhu such as his political career, his statesmanship, his visionary leadership etc. which drew attention of the audience and inspired the future leaders.

National Defence College (NDC), Bangladesh is stepping ahead to match with Corona Virus environment. NDC, an Education 4.0 Institution, took another step towards Digital Bangladesh by adopting online live classes for course members at different locations from 22 March 2020.
