NAM COLLEGE to its Pinnacle

The PERSON

At the outset, I wish to say that, this is our humble beginning and first newsletter.

It gives me extreme pleasure to extend my gratitude to all the architects behind this bulletin for their sincere efforts. The newsletter highlights the various curricular and extracurricular events which were conducted during the previous academic year along with major achievements and milestones. Various activities and programs conducted during the period under review were successful. All the teachers, students and non-teaching staff have contributed their best for success of these programmes and events. The whole hearted support, help and encouragement extended by management committee of the college is also acknowledged with great gratitude.

The success these activities have encouraged us to undertake more and more such activities in future for the benefit of academic community and to make our campus a vibrant and dynamic one. Moreover, our college is trying to equip the students in all aspects by providing holistic education that will enable them to enthusiastically engage in curricular and co-curricular activities and different socio- political activities. Let this humble effort 'reverberate' in and outside of the campus of NAM College.

I also take this opportunity to appreciate the efforts taken by Mr. Firdouse, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Dr. Anas Edoli, Assistant Professor, Department of History to bring the newsletter in your hands.

WALK WITH A SCHOLAR PROGRAMME 2018-19As part New Initiatives Higher Education Kerala, Higher Education Department has envisaged

WWS programme for Govt. and Aided college in Kerala. It was well received by students and other stake holders as it has created new waves in developing young generation to face the challenges in life. Since the inception of the programme in Kerala, majority of the colleges both in Government and Aided sector utilized this novel programme for the betterment of the student community. In the academic year 2018-19, unlike previous years the preliminary works and preparation started well in advance with an objective of providing more external and internal mentoring sessions in the first and third semesters. Owing to technical reasons inadvertent delay have been occurred in the process and consequently colleges are compelled to accomplish the process within the constraints. However the process was completed within the stipulated time. As coordinator I have briefed about the WWS programme in the staff council and the council has given mandate to proceed with the process. In the approved list of external mentors for the district and the state, we have identified a few for the first year and second year scholars. . Mean while internal mentors assignment was completed accommodating teachers with good rapport with students and those who have shown interest in mentoring process.
