The University Grants Commission has framed regulations for curbing the menace of ragging

in in higher educational institutions in order to prohibit, prevent and eliminate the scourge of

The Convener of the Anti Ragging Committee will conduct the committee meeting

periodically, discuss the issues regarding curbing the menace of ragging, take suitable steps

for preventing ragging in and around the University and implement the direction of the UGC

in letter and spirit wherever necessary.

The Convener will make a report to the Vice-Chancellor then and there wherever

contravention of this instruction is noticed by the Committee.

Further, to have an effective and highly accessible interface, the name, email address and

mobile number of the UGC Nodal Officer of our University is also furnished to whom any

affected student can take up his case is also furnished as under. The Nodal Officer, will in

turn , do the needful.

9. Admission Policy:

ADMISSION POLICY

Advertisements are given regarding issue of application forms for common entrance examinations, important

dates etc., in leading news papers and also notified in Kalasalingam University Website.

ISSUE OF APPLICATION FORM

Application form along with information brochure can be obtained at the university on payments of Rs 600/- by

cash in person.

Application form can be obtained by sending a Demand Draft (DD) for Rs.650/- drawn in favour of

Kalasalingam University payable at Rajapalayam to Dean(Admissions) with a request letter.

Application form can also be downloaded from our university web site www.kalasalingam.ac.in and the filled

application form can be submitted to Dean (Admissions) along with a DD for Rs.600/-

Application form for UG arts courses can be obtained at the university on payment of Rs.300/- by cash in

person. Application form for UG arts courses can be obtained by sending a Demand Draft (DD) for Rs.350/-

drawn in favour of Kalasalingam University payable at Rajapalayam to Dean(Admissions) with a request letter.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Pass in Higher Secondary(+2 exams) of the state board ,CBSE, Matric or any other Board of Education

recognized by state and/or Central Government with aggregate of 50% and above in Mathematics

/Biology/Physics/Chemistry.

Students holding High School Diploma issued by Northwest Accreditation Commission –US (NWAC-

US) are eligible by providing an equivalent certificate issued by association of Indian University (AIU)

for B.Tech courses.

COMMON ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS ARE CONDUCTED IN MAJOR CITIES OF INDIA.

Admission to the Under Graduate, Post Graduate Courses is done on the basis of performance of entrance

examination.

Admissions for B-Arch course are done on the basis of candidates performance in the NATA examination

conducted by CoA and in the performance of +2 examinations.

LATERAL ENTRY

Students with an average of 60% marks in pre final and final semester put together in a three year Diploma

courses in the relevant area eligible to apply.

POST GRADUATE PROGRAMMES

Students having passed in the B.Tech/B.E with 5.5 CGPA and Above (or 50% of marks) are eligible to apply for

admission to M.Tech/MBA/MCA programmes offered by Kalasalingam University.

ARTS & SCIENCE PROGRAMMES

Admission to Arts Programme will be based on the merit list of applicants considering the marks scored in the

qualifying examinations(excluding language subjects).

About the Library

The Central Library was started along with the institution in the year 1984. It is a two storied building built on a

land area of 1,01,822 square feet and fully air-conditioned with the seating capacity of 750. The Central Library

strives to its readers in the interest of creativity and innovation, the predecessors of Research and Development.

It has a well-equipped library stacking 85253 volumes of choice books in various engineering, management,

advanced sciences and general. The library subscribes to 273 periodicals in print at national and international

level. Besides, the library has 3383 bound volumes of periodicals, 5728 Project Reports.

We are providing an evolving technology environment with effective tools and services for the discovery and

delivery of information to our users and comfortable space for individual study and learning, equipped with

appropriate infrastructure.

The library is subscribing online resources such as IEEE (ASPP), DLINE, Sage, ACM and ASCE. To enable the

users to browse these e-journals, e-learning materials, digital library collections of this campus and other online

journals a separate E-Library has been established with 48 computer systems. Recently video and Web courses

developed by IIT under NPTEL were procured. A Separate Media Resource Centre is created (MRC) for accessing

these resources.

The library services have been automated with the software named “MODERNLIB”. It is a menu driven,

interactive, user-friendly package, designed with utmost care to meet the students’ information needs, such as the

availability of books, status of the books, user details etc. Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is made

available to enable the students and staff to search the availability of books, current status of books and user

details.

The services provided by the library includes Lending service, Reference service, Inter Library Loan, Internet

Browsing, Current Awareness Service (CAS), and Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI) Service.

Working Hours

The Library working hours are as follows:

Working days : 9.00 a.m. – 9.00 p.m.

Saturday : 9.30 a.m. – 5.00 p.m.

The library is closed on Sundays and other notified holidays.
