Grievance redressal committee is in place. The

students can approach the committee for readdressal

of their grievances. The students can also directly

meet the Head of the Department, Deans, Principal

or Director for the redressal of their problems.

Online students feedback system on faculty

performance is in place. At the end of each semester,

all students appraise the performance of faculty in

each of the subjects on a 30-point scale. If the

performance is less than 22 points, the concerned

faculty members are counseled by the review

committee.

Faculty and staff can bring their grievances to the

notice of their respective Heads of the Departments.

Heads will address the issues, if they are within their

purview or else they will be addressed by the

Principal and Director.

Computer Center Facilities

• Class rooms facilitate a blend of traditional and modern modes of teaching with technological aids

such as ceiling-mounted LCD projectors, roll-down screens, internet facility, green boards and podium

for faculty.

• Classrooms are spacious enough , well ventilated and accommodated with nice seating arrangement to

facilitate proper Teacher-student interaction.

• In each department, one of the classrooms is equipped with digital board along with internet

connectivity.

• Few departments are provided with smart board.

• E-Learning classrooms are available in

• All Laboratories are well- equipped with state of art components and software as per curriculum

requirement. LCD projectors are available in programming labs.

• Language Lab - specializing in English where students access audio or audio-visual materials.

• Research laboratories are available in 16 academic programs. Each research laboratories provided with

latest configuration systems and internet connectivity and good instruments.

• To facilitate the students to have hands on experience and to develop high end applications using

advanced technologies, institute has established following labs in association with industries/companies:

• The library has a total are of 1851 sq.mts area with 543 seating capacity and also has two separate AC

reading halls of a capacity of 150 users.

• Library works for 17 Hours during five week days, 12 hours on Saturdays and 6 Hours on Sundays and

Holidays.

• The library is computerised with WEB - enabled open source software NewGenLib.

• The Library has digital library having 30 computers which are connected to internet to facilitate access

of e-resources subscribed by the institution and NPTEL.

• The Library has a collection of 31055 titles, 126269 volumes and 24252 e-books.

• The Library has subscribed to 185 print journals and 7400 e-journals.

• The Library has subscribed to following e-resources through VTU consortium:

The library is providing OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue), Access through Internet wherein the

users can search the Library Online Catalogue by Author's name, title, subject, and keywords.

• Internet facility is provided through 1 Gbps leased line with 1:1 ratio and shared through Wi-Fi and

LAN.

• The entire campus including the hostels is Wi-Fi enabled and controlled by CISCO wireless Controller

and HP network Switches.

• SOPHOS firewall is placed in the institute to protect against data pilferage.

• Forty-two computer centres located in different departments. All computers are connected through a

LAN. There are 2470 desktop computers available along with all necessary peripherals in campus. All

the computer are connected through a campus wide network with fibre optic backbone. The machines

and programmes are continuously upgraded

• Computer Maintenance Cell (CMC) has contributed in designing and building a good IT infrastructure

for the Institute. CMC strives to make this infrastructure adequate to the academic need, by providing

quality IT services from the user perspective to support teaching, learning, research and innovations.

CMC maintains the campus network backbone connectivity and internet connections. CMC is

Examination system, Year/Sem Semester system

One week after the completion of examinations

Proctorial system is in place. A group of 20 students

are assigned to a faculty member. Proctors meet the

students weekly/ fortnightly basis and enquire about

any academic or other problems. They counsel the

students in case of any difficulty. They offer

guidance in study planning and help in solving their

problems. Every week a psychiatrist also counsels

students who find learning process difficult.

Boys hostels (4 inside the campus) accommodating

1570 Boys. Each hostel block is managed under the

supervision of a Deputy Warden who is a faculty

member of S.I.T. Who is assisted by managers and

workers.

Odd Semester : August to December

To cater to medical needs of girl students, lady doctor

daily visit girls’ hostels. A full time medical officer

attends to the needs of boys.

Counselling / Mentoring

Each room in all the hostels has been furnished with

cots, tables, chairs, book racks and a ceiling fan.

Parents and guardians of the students are being

provided accommodation in guest rooms on nominal

rent, whenever they visit the Institute and wish to

stay during their visits. They are also permitted to use

the mess facilities in the hostels. The faculties visit

regularly the hostels to ensure that the students utilize

their time on studies productively.

Jubilee Global Alumni Meet on March 1-2, 2014, in

the SIT campus. More than 1500 alumni along with

their family members from 17 countries participated.

SIT-USA Chapter organized the 5th Global Alumni

Convention at Crowne Plaza, Englewood, New

Jersey on 10th October 2015. The alumni chapters at

USA, UK and UAE organizes alumni meet every

year and invite Faculty, Principal and Director for

their annual meet.

SIT alumni have launched a unique programme,

Alumni Student Knowledge Exchange Programme

(ASKEP), and through this, the alumni in different

parts of the globe share their expertise and

experience with the faculty members and students
