I. Introduction

With Fellow Consulting’s CRM Gadget – Lotus Notes Sync. Plugin for CRM On

Demand, you can synchronize your personal records in Lotus Notes with Oracle CRM

On Demand.

You can simply transfer all Tasks, Appointments and Contacts from CRM On Demand to

Lotus Notes and back.

Never miss a meeting, have all current information in CRM and on your Laptop in Lotus

Notes. The same calendar and tasks on each device, online or offline.

Maintain Task, Appointment and Contact information wherever you are, synchronize all

information from and to CRM – one source of information on every device.

II. Domino configuration

When you run Lotus Notes for the first time, you will be asked to configure the

Domino server. Complete the name field and the IP address of the Domino server.

  Copy your Notes ID File to your data directory.

  Close your Lotus Notes client   Go to this folder C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Notes\framework\rcp

and locate the file plugin_customization.ini   Edit plugin_customization.ini   Copy this line: com.ibm.notes.branding/enable.update.ui=true

and paste it into the file plugin_customization.ini (as shown below)   Save the file

Important Notice Case:

After you have done the above steps and you still can´t see the word “Install”

(as shown in the picture on page 9), you have to follow these steps:

  Please choose in the Lotus Notes menu bar “File – Preferences”.

There you can find under “Basic Notes Client Configuration” the path to the

Local Application Folder.

  Please copy the path in the Windows Explorer address bar and go to:

Workspace\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.core.runtime\.settings

\com.ibm.notes.branding.prefs

  Find the file named “com.ibm.notes.branding.prefs” and edit it.

Please Enable this line of code by setting to true “enable.update.ui= true”.

  Please run Lotus Notes and go to “File – Application – Install”.

  Select “Search for new features to install” and press “Next”.

  Add a new Remote Location.

  Choose a Name and following URL:

http://desktop.crm-gadget.eu/com.fellow.lotus.update

  Please select and press “Finish”.

  Please accept the terms in the license agreements and press “Next”.

  Click on Finish button to start installing the plug-in

  Please select the point “Install this plug-in” and press “OK”

button.

Note: Cancellation will cause a problem in installation process!

IV. Using Lotus Notes Sync. Plugin

  Login to Lotus Notes

  Then you will see Lotus Notes Sync. for CRM on Demand.

Settings

To connect to CRM on Demand Server you must log in into the Lotus Notes Plugin.

The correct login will let you sync your records (Task, Appointment and Contact)

to/from the server.

If your company requires a Proxy setup, you can enable Proxy by entering your Proxy

Username and Password.

Synchronization Filter

You can easily pick the synchronization time range - one week before / after today (two weeks overall) - one month before / after today (two month overall) - three month before / after today (six month overall) or by choosing Other you can set your desired From and End date.

“Start Synchronize will initialize the synchronization process.

V. Configuring local xml file “Preferences.xml”

To enable or disable objects in the xml file you can go to this path:

C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Notes\Data\workspace\applications\eclipse\plugins

To sync using mapping xml from oracle client side:

<XmlFilename>lotus_mapping.xml</XmlFilename>

There are 3 objects that you can enable or disable.

- true = enable

- false = disable

See the following example (enabling all objects):

VI. Mapping the fields

To make sure that you can sync all fields you want to/from CRM on Demand, the

mapping xml is needed. You can use mapping xml file to map the fields (and its

picklist values if there are any) to allow synchronization.

Here an example for Appointment field mapping:

Some fields have picklists. Each picklist value has also to be mapped.

VII. Uninstalling of Lotus Notes Sync. Plugin

  Please go to the Application Management.

  Please choose: „C:\Program Files\Lotus\Notes\framework\shared\eclipse“

  Click on the Plugin Version on the left side and start uninstallation on the right side.
