With nearly 400 members, the Greater Liverpool Chamber continues to strive to meet the goals first set out over 47 years ago by promoting tourism in the area an-swering questions about area demographics to those companies that consider Greater Liverpool for relo-cation. The Chamber also responds to hundreds of consumer questions about lodging, eateries, stores, and services. The Chamber has been a BBB Com-munity Partner for four years. ARM Team: Meets once a month at 8 am First Thursday of the Month. This team deals with membership, Ambassadors, reten-tion, recognition, awards, greeting members at networking events and orientating new members. Anita Leitgeb from the Salvation Army is our TEAM Leader.

If you would like to be put on our Ambassador roster for grand openings, anniver-sary events and more, call the chamber. If you know of a business that would benefit from an Ambassadors presentation, please share it with the ARM Team! Involvement with our new Ambassadors team is a great way to network with fel-low Chamber members as well as gain valuable exposure with area businesses. Help us spread the good word about all the positive things happening in our Liver-pool Area Business community!

. The Marketing Team serves as a THINK TANK to assist the Ex-ecutive Director, the board of Directors, and the other teams in pro-moting events and activities sponsored by the Chamber. The Mar-keting team provides enhanced opportunities for communication and connection, business to business and business to community.

• The strategy includes promoting awareness via internet, print, broadcast and social media.

• Marketing will help with exposure to obtain market expansion and to build customer loyalty.

• Provide material for the Newsletter and Facebook.

Smiles by Design My Family Dentist

Submitted by: Courtney Masello 1304 Buckley Road Suite 203, Syracuse NY 13212 P: 315-474-1711 www.smilesbd.com Dental Health Month facts from the staff at Smiles By Design.

Did you know that dental health starts before we are born? Teeth start forming at 6 weeks gestation and most babies get their first tooth by the age of 6-8 months. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentists suggest a child have their first dental checkup by age 2. Stressing the importance of dental health at a young age will help prevent future issues and emer-gencies.

Adults and children should have dental cleanings every 6

months to help with their dental health. It is these appointments that help catch problems while they are small and lower the chances of dental emergencies. The number one cause of tooth loss in adults is periodontal disease which causes bone loss in the jaws. This disease is preventable with regular dental cleanings and is also linked to other overall health problems such as heart disease, diabetes, respiratory diseas-es, osteoporosis, and rheumatoid arthritis.

Every May, as the flowers are bloom-ing, the Administration for Community Living (ACL) leads the nation’s observance of Older Americans Month (OAM). In 2022, the ACL will be focusing on aging in place – how older adults can plan to stay in their homes and live inde-pendently in their communities for as long as possible.

The 2022 theme is Age My Way, an opportunity for all of us to explore the many ways older adults (especially ourselves as we age) can remain in and be involved with their communities. To start the discussion on planning, participation, accessibility, and making connections, which all play a role in aging in place, I’d like to talk about advance care planning. Actually, to be more specific, the Health Care Proxy form used here in our area and throughout New York State.

Robert Just, .from Main Street Wealth Management

The Golf Committee starts to meet in January and recruits sponsors, golfers, raffle items and volunteer .

I is a great way to meet other businesses in the chamber and get them involved and exchange business information.

It is a win-win proposition.

Volunteer: From time to time we need volunteers to make phone calls, stuff envelopes, deliver materials, proof read, etc. If you would like to be on our volunteer list, give us a call.
