VIGESIMO-CUARTO DOMINGO DEL TIEMPO ORDINARIO

Buenos dí as queridos hermanos. Les damos una fraternal bienvenida a la celebracio n de esta misa, en el vige simo cuarto domingo del tiempo ordinario.

La liturgia de hoy nos deja ver al verdadero Mesí as, anunciado por los profetas, y lo que implica seguirle. Abramos nuestro corazo n para comprender su mesianismo y recibirle en nuestras vidas.

El evangelio de este domingo inicia una intensa instrucción a los discípulos. Jesús es el Mesías, pero su mesianismo pasa por el sufrimiento, la condena y la muerte. El profeta Isaías así lo canta, hablando del siervo de Yavé; pero el salmista muestra su confianza en un Dios que viene en auxilio del que le invoca. Creer, como lo descubre el evangelio y lo apunta Santiago, es aceptar un compromiso vital que lleva a dar incluso la vida por seguir al Señor.

Los cantos del Siervo de Dios ayudaron a la primera comunidad a comprender el destino personal de Jesu s. La lectura de hoy esta tomada del tercero de estos poemas. (Isaías 50, 5-9a)

(Salmo 114) El salmista , conocedor de las situaciones difí ciles, nos lleva a poner nuestra confianza en el auxilio que viene del Sen or.

Santiago sigue planteando temas muy concretos en su carta. Esta vez escuchemos la relacio n que hace entre fe y las obras. (Santiago 2,14-18)

CCD - Religious Education Classes Registration for classes is now underway. Registration is via email at stxholycrossccd@gmail.com Please send name(s) and age(s) of student(s) as well as school attending and current year in school, contact names and phone numbers for parents/guardians, and mailing address. Please also attach copies of Baptismal certificates. Religious Instruction is available for all students in grades 1 – 8 and for Sacramental preparation. Older children may also be accommodated for Sacramental classes. Classes will begin Saturday morning, September 25. A determination will be made as to whether classes will begin via Zoom or in person the week prior to the start of classes based on current heath information. There is no registration fee to begin classes, but sacramental fees will be requested later in the year for students who will be receiving First Holy Communion or Confirmation. Volunteers are

always needed for the CCD program. We provide all necessary training. Please send an email if you are interest-ed.
