WHO HELPED ME?
Once upon a time, my grandfather was a Maths teacher. When I was four, he taught me
numbers. It was fun. But he passed away when I was six. I really miss him. It was sad for me and
my family. My mother told me to stay at my cousin's house. My uncle took me to his house. It was
nice playing with my cousins. Even though I was sad, my cousins and their dog - Simba helped
me to have fun. I am thankful to my cousins, my grandfather and my cousin's parents for taking
care of me.
Moral of the Story: We need to help people in need.

MY FAVOURITE SEASON
I like both summer and winter season. I like summer because during summer I can swim in the
swimming pool. I can eat water melons and ice creams and play in the sea shore in beaches. I
like winter because I like the chillness during winter and I can drink hot chocolates.

A DAY WITH MY FRIEND – MAIRA, SHIVANJ & KESHAV
I have many friends in school and in my apartment. I have three close friends with
whom I play after finishing my homework.
We gather sharp at 6p.m every day in park. I go with my grandpa and sometimes times
with my father and mother also. I always take my bicycle which grandma gifted me
for my birthday. I take bat, ball and water bottle along with me.
Yesterday we played seesaw, merry- go and swing. Maira wanted to spend her time always with
me, so both of us started to swing. Then all three of us took bat and ball started playing cricket. I
was the batter. At 7.30 when my mom asked me to start but I wanted to play with them for some
time more.
Games Played after 7.30
1. Football for 15 min
2. Running for 10 min
3. Catch and Catch for 10 min
I was bit tired and I got hurt in my right leg, I started to cry. Maira came immediately, asked me
not to cry, and gave me water. She asked me to sit for 10 min until my mom reaches there. She
took good care of me that day. When her mom came back after a walk to pick her up she wanted
to stay with me for few more minutes until I feel good. When my mom came, We all walked back
to our home. I showed her my toys, my piano and my scooter. She wanted to play with my scooter
for some more time. It was almost nine and my mom prepared my favourite dinner Chapatti and
Raita. We both ate and we dropped her in home and came back.
I really felt happy as I have wonderful friends and play with them regularly.

THE DIRTY SEA
One day there was a big dirty sea. It was full of plastic bottles, plastic
covers etc.,
One day a girl went to that beach. She was checking her phone and
not looking what is happening before her. And she accidently fell into the sea.
But then some people came and rescued her. When she was out, she said “The sea is
extremely dirty. The marine animals are suffering there”. The people turned and looked at the
sea. There was garbage everywhere. They thought that they should do something about this.
They went on ships and dived inside the sea and did the best they could do to clean the sea.
Moral: Always do your best to keep your surroundings clean.

DIVISION – EXAMPLES
Division is a mathematical concept that is used in our day-to-day life.
It helps to break down any task or any activities or any problems into
smaller parts, so that everything can be performed easily. I would like
to present two examples here where I use division concept in my
home daily.
• When I used to play with my brother at home, we divide the
toys among ourselves and play happily together.
• Also, whenever my dad gets me any food at home, we divide the food among our family
members and have it happily.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MULTIPLICATION AND DIVISION
➢ Multiplication and division are closely related, given that division is the inverse
operation of multiplication.
➢ When we divide, we look to separate into equal groups, while multiplication
involves joining equal groups.
Example of division solved through multiplication
➢ we’re going to learn to use multiplication as a strategy to solve division problems,
which will be really useful for daily life!
➢ We’ll start with a basic multiplication. If we have 4 x 5 = 20, its inverse relations
(in the form of a division) will be the following:
20 ÷ 5 = 4
20 ÷ 4 = 5
➢ In the same way, if we take the division 30 ÷ 3 = 10, its inverse relations (in the
form of a multiplication) will be the following:
3 x 10 = 30
10 x 3 = 30
➢ In both examples, we can see that we use the same three numbers. This is because
when we multiply two numbers (which we call factors), we get a result that we call
a product. If we divide this product by one of the factors, we get the other factor as
a result.
Here we have:
A total number of objects: 28 slices in total
A number of sets: 7 people
Representation: 28 ÷ 7 = ___
➢ To calculate the exact number of portions that will be given to each person, we
have to look for a number that when multiplied by 7 gives us 28. What will it be?
7 x 1 = 7 7 x 6 = 42
7 x 2 = 14 7 x 7 = 49
7 x 3 = 21 7 x 8 = 56
7 x 4 = 28 7 x 9 = 63
7 x 5 = 35 7 x 10 = 70
➢ Great! 4 is the number that gives us 28 when we multiply it by 7. Since the
multiplication is the inverse operation to division, 28 divided by 7 equals 4.
Therefore the answer to our exercise is:

MATHS IN EVERYDAY LIFE
Math is very much useful in our day to day life. Math can help us do many things that are important
in our everyday lives. It is appropriate to note how one experiences mathematical applications in
daily life from the time one gets up from bed till one goes to bed in the night. Be it a cook or a
farmer, a carpenter, a mechanic, a shopkeeper or a doctor, an engineer or a scientist, a musician or
a magician, an artist or a tailor, everyone makes use of math in their daily life.
Here are some daily tasks for which math is important:
• Managing time: Keeping a track of time is very important to do all you love to do
• Budgeting: Managing money, understanding discounts, and buying for the best price
• Sports: Score, Time, Strategizing to win
• Cooking: Measuring the ingredients to add to a recipe, kitchen inventory planning
• Exercising and Dieting
• Driving: Distance traveled, the shortest route to take to reach a destination
• Home Decorating
• Stitching: Measurements to stitch a dress
• Critical Thinking
• The base of other Subjects
SIGNIFICANCE OF MEASUREMENT WITH EXAMPLE
Measurement is a process of finding a number that shows the amount of something.
Length
• Length is the distance from one end of an object to the other end.
• The standard unit of measuring length is metre and measured in centimeter also.
• This is my diagram of scale or ruler used to measure centimeter.
Weight
• Weight is the measure of the heaviness of an object
• The standard unit of measuring weight is kilogram.
• This is my diagram of balance weighing machine.
Capacity
• Capacity is the amount of liquid a container can hold.
• The standard unit of measuring capacity is litre.
• This is my diagram of measuring jar.
My Project: Use of Centimeter
• Prepare a chart with three tracks and select 3 cars
• Mark the starting and ending point.
• Push the cars gently and mark the centimeter each car is reaching.
• The car that went the farthest is the winner.
WHY DO LEAVES CHANGE THEIR COLOR AND FALL DOWN IN THE
AUTUMN SEASON?
Leaves are coloured by molecules called pigments. The pigment that causes leaves to be green is
chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is important for plants to make food using sunlight. During spring and
summer when there is plenty of sunlight, plants make a lot of chlorophyll.
In the winter, it would take a lot of energy and water for plants to keep their leaves healthy. But
winter is cold, dry, and usually there isn't much sun (which helps give plants energy). So, instead
of trying to keep their leaves, some plants drop their leaves and seal the spots on their branches
where the leaves had been attached.
In autumn when it starts to get cold, some plants stop making chlorophyll. Instead, those plants
break down chlorophyll into smaller molecules. As chlorophyll goes away, other pigments start to
show their colors. This is why leaves turn yellow or red in fall.
It takes a lot of energy to make chlorophyll. If the plants break down the chlorophyll and move it
out of their leaves before the leaves fall, plants save energy. The plants can reabsorb the molecules
that make up chlorophyll. Then, when it's warm and sunny enough to grow again, the plants can
use those molecules to remake the chlorophyll. That way the plants don't have to make chlorophyll
from scratch.
So the different colors in leaves are caused by changes in the pigments. When the weather changes,
some plants break down all the green pigment. This lets beautiful yellows, oranges, and reds come
through in the fall.
ARE HUMANS HURTING OR HELPING OUR ENVIRONMENT?
SUPPORT YOUR ANSWER WITH YOUR OWN EXPERIENCE
Environment is the beautiful thing that we got from God by nature. But humans always hurting
the environment in many ways. They are destroying forests for constructing buildings and railway
tracks. They are throwing garbage into rivers, making the water dirty and killing many water
animals. Vehicle’s smoke is also harmful for us and our environment.
Basic Rules to save our environment:
1. Keep our neighbourhood clean and green by planting trees.
2. Throwing garbage into a dustbin
3. We should not throw away the things which we can refuse, like paper and plastic bottles.
Our environment is beautiful. Let us take good care of it.

MY TRIP TO THE MOON
One day, me and my elder brother were playing in our room and we imagined about going to the
moon on a trip.
We started by taking a space ship and it took us 3 days to reach the moon and it was a very bumpy
ride. We had taken lot of chocolates and biscuits as snacks and we had enjoyed it on the way to
the moon.
Landing on the moon was very difficult as we could not find a landing spot. The moon was very
beautiful but as there was no air, we were wearing a space suit which was very heavy.
After we landed, we had to take big jumps to move on the surface of the moon and it was fun
playing with my brother.
One side of the moon was very bright because of sunlight and other side was dark. It was very cold
and hot based on the side of the moon. We were able to see the whole solar system and it was
wonderful to see all the planets. Earth when seen from space was the best of all the planets. It was
blue and very scenic. The stars added beauty to the scene.
My brother took a photo of me floating in space and then we returned home safely. The moon is
a very beautiful place to visit and I will travel again when I grow big.

HOW WILL IT MAKE A DIFFERENCE IF I SAVE FRESH WATER.
Important Facts about water on this planet:
• Ninety-seven percent of all water on the earth is salt water, which is not suitable for
drinking.
• Only 3% of water on Earth is fresh water, and only 0.5% is available for drinking.
• The other 2.5% of fresh water is locked in ice caps, glaciers, the atmosphere, soil, or
under the earth's surface, or is too polluted for consumption.
Below are some of difference if we save fresh water.
• It minimizes the effects of drought and water shortages.
• It guards against rising costs and political conflict.
• It helps to preserve our environment.
• It makes water available for recreational purposes.
• It builds safe and beautiful communities.

WATER
Water is one of the most vital natural resources
for all life on Earth. The availability and quality
of water always have played an important part in
determining not only where people can live, but
also their quality of life. Even though there
always has been plenty of fresh water on Earth,
water has not always been available when and
where it is needed, nor is it always of suitable
quality for all uses. Water must be considered as
a finite resource that has limits and boundaries to
its availability and suitability for use.
Uses of water
