We support 501c3 nonprofit organizations that provide positiveexperiences to help teens excel In school and develop life and leadership skills.

My organization received funding last year . Can we apply again?Best Buy Children's Foundation makes funding decisions annually. Grants are awarded for a one-year period only. We Invitegrantees to re-apply In subsequent years based on program results, although there are no guarantees of renewed funding. Grante-

What are the deadlines for the Twin Cities Fund?Twin Cities grant applications to the Best Buy Children Foundation are reviewed on a quarterly basis, with the following applicationdeadlines:

• The program must serve a national audience• The organization must have a national distribution plan in place• The organization must have national partnerships In place

What are the deadlines for national grant applications?National partnership proposals to the Best Buy Children's Foundation are reviewed on a quarterly basis, with the followingapplication deadlines:

• November 1• February 1• May 1• August 1

What are the guidelines for Community Grants?Best Buy teams across the United States select non-profit organizations that provide positive experiences to help teens to excel inschooland develop life leadership skills. Special consideration will be given to programs that provide youth with access toopportunity through technology. Additional criteria Include:

• Serve a diverse population In local or regional communities• Build social, academic, leadership and life skills in early adolescents (primarily ages 13-17)• Organizations within the Twin Cities 7-County Metro area are eligible and can apply for Community Grant or the Twin Cities

Fund , but not both• Show positive results against a demonstrated community need• Reach at-risk children in working families

What are the typical grant awards for Community Grants?The average grant amount Is $4,000 - $6,000 with a maximum of $10,000.

What Is the deadline for Community Grants?Nonprofits must submit their complete proposals online between July 1 - August 1. The grant application will close at 11:59 p.mEST on August 1, 2011.

When will grantees receive the checks?Checks will be sent to nonprofit organizations In October.

Can local schools apply for funding for an Community Grant?Schools do not qualify because we fund schools through Teach 15 ( htto • Jwww at15 com/teactil which helps schools servinggrades 7-12 meet their technology needs. Teens who are registered on atl5.com can nominate and vote for their schools to win aTeach©15 Award in the form of a Best Buy Gift Cards for $1,500, $1,000 and $500.

Can I request a donation of product with Community Grants?No. Community Grants are for programs that empower teens, not for products or gift cards.
