The Rise and Fall of

Adolf Hitler

Introduction

Work through the booklet, answering the questions on

the Word document provided. Remember you can use

the recommended search sites to help you find more

information for your writing and the planning

templates will help you compose and organise your

work. When you are ready to write up your first draft,

you can type up your biography and upload it to

Teams.

Tell me if the following extracts are from biographies or not.

• Use the language features from the previous page to help you

identify them.

Activity 4: Read the short biography about

Hitler on the next page and pick out the

structural features (changing their colour to

red) and the language features (changing

their colour to blue) on the Word document.

Activity 5: Planning your own biography

Using what you have learned about Hitler and the features of a

biography to plan your own biography of his life.

Use the table on the word document to plan your paragraphs and to

organise your ideas.

Use the biography you have read and the information you gathered in

history to fill out your plan.

Activity 6: Write your biography

Have a go at writing a biography about Hitler, using your plan. You can

type your biography straight on to the blank template Word document

and this way you will have help with your spelling. Upload the document

when you have finished. Don’t forget to edit and check your work before

handing it in.

• You can include pictures in your biography by inserting them into the

Word document.

• You could also add a glossary at the end of your biography for any

special topic or technical terms
