Dr Ashish Agarwal is currently working as a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Technocrats Group of Institution, Bhopal, India. He obtained his M.Tech and Ph.D degree in 2007 and 2015 from National Institute of Technology, Bhopal (INDIA).He has more than 16 years of experience in teaching different subjects of Mechanical Engineering discipline.He has been working in the area of heat storage system, Non-Conventional energy system from last 9 year. He is working for enhancement of thermal conductivity for latent heat storage system to increase the heat transfer rate. He is expertise in the field of characterization techniques for heat storage material, solar thermal system and heat storage system. He

published more than 20 research articles in his fields of expertise in different national and international journals and conferences. He also published book on modeling and simulation of solar water heater. In the recent years, he has published research articles on heat transfer enhancement, development of simulation model for melting and solidification of paraffin wax in heat storage system.He recognized reviewer for different SCI and SCOPUS refereed international journals in the field of heat storage systems, solar thermal systems etc. He was honoured for “Outstanding contribution in Reviewing”, by Editor of Applied Thermal Engineering, Elesevier, Amsterdam, Netherlands. 2016. He is associated with technological society to promote research and development work.

PrefaceA strong need is felt to introduce the first edition of the book entitled "A Text Book of "Engineering Graphics and Design" to cover the complete latest syllabus of Engineering Graphics and Design subject recently revised as per AICTE flexible curricula by RGPV, Bhopal w.e.f. July 2018. The Book includes nine Units. Unit 1 covers materials and its properties, Chapter 2 covers Measurement and Production Engineering, Chapter 3 covers basic properties of fluids and related applications in Fluid machinery, Chapter 4 covers properties of steam and laws of Thermodynamics and Chapter 5 covers working principle of various reciprocating machines.

I hope that the book will fulfill the needs of engineering students very well. I strongly urge the readers to send their valuable constructive suggestions and opinions to enhance the utility of the book.
