CSR REPORT - EFPR 2018 ENABLING EARTH AND MANKIND TO PRODUCE THE BEST

While Corporate Social Responsibility

(CSR) has become a very popular

communication tool in a lot of

companies, the Groupe Roullier has

been committed to this approach

since 1959, with the processing of

mineral materials of natural origin.

The experience we have gained throughout the years has led us

to bolster our management of environmental, societal and social

risks.

Thanks to our 8,000 employees, the company can grow based

on a shared vision: “Enabling Earth and Mankind to produce the

best.”

Our CSR approach is fully in line with this ambition. For our

collective success, we base this approach on our four pillars:

innovation for our clients, environmentally-friendly international

industrial strength, sales teams working as closely as possible with

clients, and social capital.

This report presents the status of the Groupe Roullier’s current

activities with regard to CSR, but it primarily represents a founding

act demonstrating a desire to transfer knowledge for the benefit

of future generations in order to help structure a truly ethical and

sustainable approach.

Enabling us all to be stakeholders and proudly work for a

responsible and forward-looking company.

Established by Daniel Roullier, the Groupe Roullier is a family-owned independent group. Born on the quays of Saint-Malo in 1959 when it acquired a deposit of calcareous algae, maerl, which improves the pH of acidic soils. Based on its marine-based raw materials, the Group very quickly developed its specialisation towards the optimisation of plant nutrition. To nourish and protect humans, animals, soils and plants, the company has held the belief since its very beginnings that it must find technological, natural and sustainable solutions to do so. This is a conviction that drives the Group forward in all of its innovations and which shapes its current course.

The Centre Mondial de l’Innovation Roullier (CMI)

Created in 2015, the CMI Roullier is a unique location in Saint-Malo in Brittany, close to the Group’s headquarters. Bringing together all functions related to innovation in one place makes it possible to develop highly technical products to meet the needs of crops and species on every continent and to speed up their time to market.

The CMI Roullier is based around two large research centres for plant nutrition and animal nutrition.

The aim of the plant nutrition centre is to create and design the fertilisers and soil improvers of tomorrow. An international team of doctors in chemistry, biochemistry, molecular

biology and microbiology, along with agricultural engineers, work in collaboration with universities and institutes worldwide on a number of projects pertaining to the specific characteristics of our products. This work has been the subject of several patents and scientific publications.

The aim of the animal nutrition division is to have expertise covering all species and breeders.

Engineers and doctors in chemical formulation for animal nutrition work on the implementation of new-generation active ingredients designed for ruminants, monogastric animals and aquaculture.

Partnerships have regularly increased in number ever since the opening of the CMI Roullier,

including long-term partnerships in France, Europe, South America, North America and Asia.

Partnerships with universitiesand institutes

To be able to respond to the challenges facing the agriculture of the future, the Groupe Roullier has two structures devoted to innovation: the CMI (Centre Mondial de l'Innovation Roullier) and the CERA (Centre for Applied Studies and Research).

Areas of research

The Groupe Roullier areas of re-search rely on nature to develop innovative and biodiversity-friendly products that meet the expectations of farmers, government authorities and society.

The main working concepts involve the microbiology of soils, the reduc-tion of losses and environmental im-pacts by repurposing nutrients such as nitrogen, abiotic stress (water, salinity, global warming, etc.) and biocontrol.

Complementing its research in Plant Nutrition, the Group also works to improve the quality and diges-tibility of its animal feed products. Research efforts in this field aim to enhance animals’ growth levels and well-being, all throughout their life cycle.

In the agri-food sector, research is particularly focused on eliminating preservatives and improving the nu-tritional profile and labelling of pro-ducts to provide better information to the consumer.

Areas of researchat the Centre Mondialde l'Innovation Roullier

“Sust N Agro”

At European level, more than 20 %

of the water is polluted by nitrates1. To reduce this pollution, a European consortium bringing together research institutes and agricultural coope-

ratives has been put in place. As a partner in this project, the Centre Mondial de l'Innovation Roullier (CMI) has introduced an alternative solution incorporating issues linked to soil and to animal and plant produc-tions. The purpose of this proposal is to reduce the environmental impact by a third and to improve yields for the farmer. This project will be rea-lised by creating a digital tool that will efficiently build the diagnostic and calibrate the requirements.

“BIODERA”

Phytoparasitic nematodes are microscopic roundworms found in agricultural soils. These pests re-duce global agricultural production by about 11 %, a loss of several million tonnes of crops each year2. For environmental and health reasons, almost all of the most effective pest control measures for these parasites are gradually being withdrawn from the market, leaving farmers with very few solutions.

The BIODERA project proposes an innovative approach to crop protection, by combining fertili-sers with biocontrol solutions. It is financed by the Programme Inves-

tissements d’Avenir (Future Invest-ments Programme) and is fully in line with the objectives of the natio-nal ECOPHYTO II plan, which aims to reduce the use of pesticides by 50 % by 2025. It officially started on 16th January 2017 and will last for four years. The promising results obtained at the project’s midway point were welcomed by the various partners.

Relationshipswith stakeholders

CMI Roullier partners

National Institutefor Agricultural Research (France)

The close and multi-dimensional partnership between the Groupe Roullier and the National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA) goes back to 2005. In almost 15 years, the Groupe Roullier has esta-blished collaborations with 8 INRA centres throughout France, in Plant and Animal Nutrition. To carry out the joint research work, about fif-teen theses were conducted in pu-blic-private partnership. The INRA and the Group worked jointly on nearly a dozen subsidised projects (FUI, ANR, ADEME) and technical partnership agreements. The re-search led to the authoring of nu-merous scientific publications, pa-tents, and the development of new products. The partnership with the INRA also enabled CMI Roullier re-search tools to be developed, such as the phenotyping greenhouse or the rhizotubes, as well as the regu-

lar provision of Animal Nutrition research in strategic materials for artificial rumens.

University of Navarra (Spain)

The University of Navarra (UNAV), one of Spain’s best-known universi-ties, has long been a partner of the Group Roullier. This relationship is mainly represented by Dr. José-Maria Garcia Mina, an internationally-re-nowned expert in humic substances, employed by the Group. The work of the partnership is the origin of many of the Groupe’s specificities in Plant Nutrition, for a sustainable and sensible agriculture.

European InvestmentBank financing

In June 2018, the European Invest-ment Bank (EIB) granted the Groupe Roullier a loan of 50 million Euros, intended to finance its R&D activi-ties in Animal and Plant Nutrition. The Group was the first to benefit from the agriculture and bioeco-nomy loan programme launched by the EIB at European level. This financing endorses the dynamism and quality of research teams wit-hin CMI Roullier and the Group.

Animal welfare

In order to contribute to the well-being of livestock, TIMAC AGRO (working alongside the CMI Roullier) designs solutions helping to ensure nutritional and health equilibrium for these animals. Among these, the subsidiary notably offers solutions pertaining to the quality of bedding, reducing quantities of ammonia in livestock buildings, and providing mineral-rich nutritional supplements in order to strengthen their immune systems and meet animal welfare standards.

Pâtisseries Gourmandes research projects

Pâtisseries Gourmandes has led several improvement projects:

• On a nutritional level: eduction of sugar and salt content in 80% of own-brand products.

• On product labelling: ssimpli-fication of recipes via the removal of additives, preservatives, dyes and artificial flavourings, or any other contentious ingredient, such as glucose-fructose syrup. Pâtisseries Gourmandes also designed the ANTICIPA collaborative project, which aims to produce pastries without preservatives.

Projects led byMaison Colibri

Maison Colibri has created a new range of organic snacks for children, called “Chocoboom”. More than 95 % of ingredients are from organic produce and it has a “Clean Label” (excluding artificial ingredients and additives). Maison Colibri manufactures its products in its Charente-Maritime factory, capitali-sing on more than 120 years in the pastry industry.

Innovation is a key performance driver, and has been an integral part of the Groupe Roullier DNA for 60 years. Tomorrow’s agricultural challenge hinges on the ability to innovate whilst integrating the principles of sustainable development. The challenge is a global one, and will affect future generations.

Inventing and experimenting with new products using natural substances and designing ever more innovative technologies is the Groupe Roullier’s mission, in order to implement the principles of an effective and sustainable global agriculture.

The Innovation Awards

In October 2017, CMI Roullier be-gan accepting submissions for the Innovation Awards, an internatio-nal Plant Nutrition competition that rewards the two best research pro-jects relating to Groupe Roullier’s fields of expertise.

The two 2018 competition winners:

• Dr. Laura Zanin, Department of Agricultural, Food, Environmental and Animal Sciences at the Uni-versity of Udine, for her work on improved effectiveness of nitrogen for better assimilation by the plant,

and a reduction in losses to the en-vironment.

• Professor Walter Wenzel, Natural Resources and Life Sciences, De-partment of Forest and Soil Science, Institute of Soil Research, at the Uni-versity of Vienna, for his research on soil microbiology.

These two agroecological topics re-flect a form of agriculture that aims to limit environmental impact and improve the use of existing biodi-versity to enhance crop health. The winners will benefit from a €60,000 grant and a year’s partnership with CMI Roullier, to pursue their work.

The relevance of proposed projects has led the Group to forge new partnerships with universities, to advance research in the broadest sense and to make CMI Roullier a real innovation booster.

Collectiveagreement on CMI Roullier

employees' projectinventions

During the course of 2018, Groupe Roullier signed an agreement spe-cifying the policy regarding pro-ject-related inventions and their remunerations, thus going beyond what exists in the collective agree-ment. This agreement applies to all CMI Roullier employees, whatever their status and contract (fixed term contract, part time, etc.) and is part of the Group's policy of recognising everyone's contribution to innovation and collective performance.

Compagnie Armoricainede Navigation contributes to

the progress of wildlife research

In 2012, Compagnie Armoricaine de Navigation (CAN) signed an agreement to share information with the Station Biologique de Ros-coff (CNRS and Sorbonne Univer-sité). Within the framework of this agreement, CAN annually transmits the volumes extracted on the Duons concession in the Bay of Morlaix. In return, the Roscoff station sends metadata on abundance and spe-cific quantities from wildlife invento-ries on the Pierres Noires site. The data has been collected, on the one hand within the framework of the last five-year monitoring of

the concession and, on the other hand, within the framework of a call for proposals (IMPECAPE) by the French Protected Marine Areas Agency after identifying an

indicator of physical pressure ex-perienced by benthic populations (species settled on the seabed).

NUWEN for local and natural products

The majority of seaweed processed by NUWEN is harvested just a few metres from the factory. France’s Pleubian peninsula is historically known for seaweed harvesting as it benefits from optimal geographic conditions for seaweed growth.

That is why it was named a “Natura 2000” zone by national authorities. This contributes to the preservation of optimum quality of products and their environment.

A collaboration was formed with the Station Biologique de Roscoff (a public entity specialising in re-search on marine organisms) in or-

der to study the impact of the micro-nisation process (grinding to obtain a powder) on seaweed cells.

Implementation ofa Biodiversity Management

Plan by MagnesitasNavarras

For all mining projects, Spanish law requires mining companies to draw up a Restoration Plan that sets out the actions to be carried out in terms of mining waste management

with a view to rehabilitating the area affected by the activities. Magna takes it one step further. In 2018, Magna implemented a Biodiversity Management Plan in the areas impacted by extraction activities, Borobia (Soria) and Eugui (Navarra). This Plan, in addition to the Restoration Plans, determines measures for developing different habitats in line with the presence of species and fauna considered to be of special interest because of their ecological role and their conservation status.

In addition, Magna is leading the design and presentation of the “Intelligent Recovery of At-Risk Biodiversity using Mining Environments” (CIEN – SMART BIOMINE PROJECT) at national level, in collaboration with seven other companies, research centres, the botanical garden "real jardín botánico", reference entities in the Spanish mining sector, and with the participation of the Spanish Ministries of the Environment, and of Science and Innovation.

Raising awarenessof phosphorous use with TIMAC AGRO France

Since 2015, TIMAC AGRO France has been committed to raising awareness of the use of phosphorous, an essential element for Plant Nutrition. Run by field experts, these discus-sions enable us to provide ever more accurate advice on phosphorous management. The operation was tied in with the launch of the “Phosph’Or” appli-cation, which enables farmers to self-assess the phosphorous needs on their land.

INNOVABIO by TIMAC AGRO, a new TIMAC AGRO programme, supports organic farmers and those converting to organic by offering them fertiliser and Animal Nutrition solutions with high added value. Its agronomic concept is based on strengthening the potential of natural

soil mechanisms to optimally develop the plant and crops. INNOVABIO by TIMAC AGRO favours a techni-cal approach. Its products amplify and optimise the different vectors of soil and plant dynamics to enable the organic farmer to meet all of the challenges he faces. Several ranges that can be used in organic farming are already on sale.

Launched in Portugal, Italy and France in 2018, the business will continue its global rollout in 2019 and will bring new innovative specific features to the market.

Bio-sourced productsand products that respect

the seaweed life cyclewith NUWEN

NUWEN’s French seaweed is har-vested by hand, in line with strict regulations governing size, surface area and seasonality. In order to preserve this natural resource, the French government monitors this bu-siness by granting permits to those authorised to harvest seaweed.

Every year, a prefectural order is issued to regulate the fallow areas and the harvest schedule. The coastline is divided into plots, which ensures traceability of crops and prevents the overexploitation of biomass.

Each harvester working with NUWEN is committed to respecting a charter of best practice in harvesting, each seaweed species having its own specific requirements for harves-ting. The seaweed life cycle is thus respected.

Manufactureof powdered cosmetics

to reduce CO2 emissions with NUWEN

NUWEN has been a powdered cosmetic specialist for 30 years. As well as avoiding the addition of preservatives, the manufacture of powdered cosmetics has many advantages, particularly ecologi-cal. Unlike diluted formulations, this

type of product requires less trans-port, storage, packaging, produces 100 times less CO2 emissions and consumes less water.

From January 2018, 7 of these products have been certified COSMOS NATURAL.

Quality assurance process for raw materials

In order to guarantee the safety of employees, to respect the envi-ronment in and around the facto-ries and to ensure the quality of finished products, the Agrosupplies management has set up a raw material approval procedure. All of the information related to this procedure is stored in a da-tabase called RMES (Raw Material Evaluation System), which can be accessed by all stakeholders at headquarters and within the sub-sidiaries.

Circular economy and recycling

Introduction of recycledmaterial in packaging by

Agriplas-Sotralentz Packaging

Within the framework of the circu-lar economy roadmap (feuille de route économie circulaire - FREC) governed by the French Ministry for Ecological and Solidarity Tran-sition and the measures taken at European Commission level, volun-tary commitments have been made to incorporate more recycled plas-tics into packaging.

Agriplas-Sotralentz Packaging sees finding a solution to incorporate these recycled materials as a priority ac-tion, in order to offer customers more environmentally-friendly packaging.

The Plastics subsidiary has been working internally since 2018 with the help of recyclers and suppliers to offer a range of products incor-porating between 50 % and 95 %

recycled content in 1 L containers with and without dye for the de-tergent markets. Objective: to expand the range of recycled products to larger packaging: 5 L, 10 L, 20 L, etc.

Use of 100 % recycledplastic pallets by thePlastics subsidiary

Agriplas uses reusable plastic pal-lets manufactured from recycled polyethylene. The idea is to use plastic pallets in a shuttle system and get rid of expendable wooden pallets. Recyclable, hygienic (no mould), lightweight (4 kg instead of 11 kg for expendable wooden pallets) and universal because they are designed in an international size (80 x 120), they are part of a global environmental approach.

Replacementof plastic bottles with TIMAC AGRO Brasil

Plastic liquid fertiliser packaging (Progen) has been replaced by an innovative system to improve the storage, handling and disposal of packaging. The system reduces the use of plastic by 70 %.

Weiss actions in the wood subsidiary

Today, the development of the bio-mass sector has mainly focused on the use of wood chips or recycled

wood (class A wood). Recycled wood is almost always used today, and woodchip resources are star-ting to shrink and become more expensive, compromising the eco-nomic advantage of the biomass solution.

Some biomass resources remain untapped, especially wood-waste (wood for furniture, class B wood, CSR-type waste), which represent a significant growth potential.

Weiss is closely involved with pro-fessional organisations in produ-cing a harmonised classification of these resources to define an appli-cable regulatory framework based on the qualities of wood and the technical development of solutions.

Optimisation projectfor energy consumption

of Phosphea

The aim of this project is to iden-tify optimisation levers and to im-plement actions which permit the reduction of manufacturing costs as well as the environmental impact related to energy consumption (gas and electricity). This project is part of a more global performance plan launched within Phosphea called LOOP “Let’s Optimize our Opera-tions Performance.” This aims to identify and optimise all the logistic and industrial operations costs.Across Phophea, the objectives for reducing electricity and gas consumption are the following:

•1,400 megawatt-hour of electricity over 2019

•11,700 megawatt-hour of gas over 2019

Heat exchangers atMagnesitas Navarras

In order to increase its production capacities while optimising its energy efficiency, the Magnesitas Navarras factory (Spanish subsidiary for Magnesium) installed its second heat exchanger in December 2017. The principle of the exchanger is to recover some of the heat released by the rotary oven on which it is installed on in order to reuse it in the calcination process. By recy-cling the heat thus produced, the factory successfully reduced its gas consumption by 20 % and its electrical consumption by 12.5 %, whilst increasing the oven production capacity by 54 %.

New ovens and energyconsumption reduction atPâtisseries Gourmandes

In the Pâtisseries Gourmandes fac-tories, new better insulated ovens have been introduced in order to reduce heat loss.

The reduction of energy consumption is also achieved with the replacement of all the lighting at all industrial sites (Loudéac, Tourc'h, St Tugdual and Derval) by LED lighting.

The installation of LED lighting at the head office (Loudéac) led to energy savings of €1,758/year.

The granulation of fertilisers consists in making a granulate material or a homogenous assembly of mate-rials by an agglomeration phase which is mainly achieved by ad-ding process water (recycled water from soiled areas in the factory or outside).

TIMAC AGRO France disseminated a storm water management plan on its site on the Industrial area and differentiated management of storm water was implemented.

Dust reduction

Dust extraction filter linkedto the unloading of materials

TIMAC AGRO Italia

In 2017, the Italian subsidiary installed a filter over the phosphate unloading pit which helps extract dust released effectively.

The objective of this project initiated in 2016 is twofold:

• To allow phosphates of all origins to be unloaded while ensuring minimal dust emission.

• To reduce losses and optimise the supply of silos.

Environmental steering committee TIMAC AGRO France

An environmental steering com-mittee was launched in 2016 on the initiative of TIMAC AGRO com-munication department with the management of Saint Malo plants and the Group’s Communications group. It meets 4 times a year. The aim of the COPIL is to optimise the integration of the Saint-Malo plants of the Group into their

environment by providing more education and information, by directly addressing the questions from residents about their activities and commitments.

Awareness-raisingand actions

TIMAC AGROBrasil’s Programa ECO

The ECO program aims to raise the awareness of employees about the environmental impacts of the activity (raw materials, processing, etc.) using

twice weekly visits aimed at carrying out a qualitative assessment taking into account the evolutions and the severity of deviations. Discrepancies observed and the score obtained are regularly sent to the departments concerned in order to draw up action plans. This program is carried out by the Rio Grande industrial site.

Reduction of CO2 emissionson the Côtes de Bretagne ship

When the Carbon Footprint Assess-ment was done it was discovered that the biggest source of CO2 (T equ. CO2) came from the diesel used for the vessel’s engines. The priority action identified was to find a solution to reduce consumption.

The Compagnie Armoricaine de Navigation (CAN) worked with ECOGAZ Solution in 2017 and 2018 validated by the ADEME as part of the “Objective CO2. charter” The solution involves incorporating the ECOGAZ solution into each fuel supply with 1L for 4,000 L of diesel and measurement of the impact on consumption over a one-year period (September 2017 to August 2018).

282 litres of ECOGAZ solution were thus used for 1,129,838 L of treated fuel, resulting in a decrease of the Carbon footprint of around 250 T of CO2 over 12 months.

Onboard desulphurisationat TIMAB Magnesium

In order to reduce gaseous wastes associated with a high level of sulphur in some industrial processes effec-tively, TIMAB Magnesium offers its clients magnesium oxide-based and magnesium hydroxide-based solutions. The latter play a major role in addressing ever more stringent regulatory requirements, while ensuring cost efficiency.

Reductionof greenhouse gases

Wood fired heaters or similar

Using biomass combustion energy for large scale industry is very spe-cific to the Group’s activity and is unique in its sector. This shows its long-term commitment to reducing its consumption of fossil energy and greenhouse gases. This commitment was strengthened in 2012 with the acquisition of the company, Weiss France, which designs biomass heaters.

The companies that are currently equipped with these heaters are TIMAC AGRO (Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Spain and France) and Magnesium do Brasil, Brazilian

subsidiary for Magnesium. Biomass tests for calcination furnaces are also being tested at Magnesitas Navarras in Spain.

Reduction of energyconsumption for plastics

Agriplas-Sotralentz Packaging changed the motors in some of its machines such as extruders. Investing in motors with a variator helps to adjust the power of the machines depending on consumption and thus reduces energy consumption. The Plastics subsidiary also replaced some of its hydraulic machines with electric machines, achieving a reduction in electricity consumption of 20 to 25% since the first installation in October 2017.On the Drulingen site, the refrige-rated unit was replaced by a heat recovery unit. The heat recovered is propelled into the factory in the winter, which helps reduce heating consumption.

Safety days atTIMAC AGRO France

A safety day is held once a year in all TIMAC AGRO France factories. Production is then stopped and all teams are present including temporary workers.

The objective is to reiterate strong messages about essential safety issues by leading topic-related workshops (e.g. the wearing of anti-noise Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Actions and safetyorganisation of CAN

Every year, the Compagnie Armoricaine de Navigation (CAN) organises Emergency exercises with Civil Security. These exercises help to check the Company’s Emergency Plan to deal with the occurrence of an unforeseeable event on board the vessel (fire, abandoning ship, pollution, etc.).

Furthermore, as part of the impro-vement of management between head office and the Côtes de Bre-tagne vessel and to facilitate global management, CAN imple-

mented the SEMAPHORE software which helps manage regulatory checks of equipment on board the vessel, events occurring on board, maintenance operations, stocks and orders.

Integrated Environmental Safety Quality management

system in the Tunisiansubsidiary of Phosphea

A subsidiary of Phosphea in Tunisia, the industrial site of Fosfatos de Cartagena made a voluntary com-mitment to implement an integrated QSE management system (Quality

ISO 9001, Safety ISO 45001, Environment ISO 14001) in order to better manage the risks, and im-pacts of activities on the health and safety of any person working or intervening on-site, on the environ-ment and on client satisfaction.

These procedures are sent to em-ployees and external stakeholders (residents, associations, clients, etc.) in order to show their expectations are being taken into account.

Impact on the health and safety

of employees

The Group’s three main industrial activities (Agrosupplies, Phosphates and Magnesium) achieve better re-sults than the average ratios of the chemical industry3, respectively

5.03 % compared to 11.30 % in the frequency rate of work accidents and 0.19 % compared to 0.70 % for the severity rate.

Organisation of prevention points of contact

A coordinated prevention process was implemented by the Group.

The 3 levels of this process involve: the Risk Management service at Group level, the Coordinators at trade level and the leaders, teams and prevention contact people at subsidiary level. More than 50 people are involved in the organi-sation of this prevention.

Dangerous situationrecord at NUWEN

As part of the continuous improvement at NUWEN, an SSE (Health, Safety, Environment) point of contact was appointed on the industrial site of Billy in addition to the SSE Coordinator.

They are responsible for suppor-ting industrial sites in the analysis of accidents, guaranteeing regula-tory compliance of sites, training employees and providing aware-ness-raising materials.

Such material includes posters de-signed on near- misses, dangerous situations and security patrols.

Safety cultureat TIMAC AGRO Brasil

The STOP program introduced by TIMAC AGRO Brasil aims to de-velop the safety culture within the

subsidiary and to encourage the right behaviours. It is in fact an ob-servation tool of behavioural safety dedicated to the prevention of in-juries and material damage, the enhanced focus on HSE (Hygiene, Safety, Environment) matters, and the verification of understanding of procedures and their compliance.

The SIPAT Program (Internal week for Accident prevention) is organised

every year by the industrial units and the head office in Porto Ale-gre. This week aims to inform and raise the awareness of employees on matters related to safety in the workplace and to promote good practice in terms of health.

Finally, group gymnastics sessions are regularly organised in the work place in order to improve the phy-sical condition of employees and reduce the impact of their profes-sional activity on their health. The units of Porto Alegre, Candelas and Santa Luzia do Norte have adopted this practice.

TransportThe assessment framework of third parties, including transporters, is part of an overall process relating both to corruption risks and also to sanctions and embargo risks. The assessment system identifies the diligence process to apply to a third party before it enters into relations with Groupe Roullier.

Furthermore, the Group has also implemented an approval process for all vessels carrying merchandise (not including containers). This is valid for raw material and finished products and applies to all inco-terms (reciprocal obligations of the seller and buyer in the framework of an international contract), even when the Group does not directly

charter the vessel, the objective being to avoid merchandise being transported by vessels presenting a risk to the environment or to the safety of the sailors.

The procedure provides criteria for age, flags, classification and the insurance policy of the shipowner.

The ship’s recent history and technical characteristics are also assessed in order to ensure that the material can be loaded and unloaded safely without risk to either the material or the handling personnel.

Customersatisfaction programmeat TIMAC AGRO Italia

The objectives of the customer sa-tisfaction programme “Working towards excellence” fall into two major categories:

- Raising awareness of the impor-tance of quality in order to facili-tate the work of the TSAs, increase performance levels for services and products, optimise resources used, and reduce quantities of waste ge-nerated;

- The development of a system of continuous improvement for customer satisfaction.

In order to assess the effectiveness of this programme, 1,156 customers were interviewed between 2017 and 2018.

For 60 years, the Groupe Roullier has been forging a unique economic model based on close-knit relationships with our customers on the ground. Our sales staff (Technical Sales Agents, Market Managers, etc.) meet directly with customers on a daily basis at their farms or their facilities, in order to get a feel for local conditions and offer tailored solutions. The Group’s strength also resides in the quality of the partnerships we have established at local and international level.

TSA from father to son

The role of Technical Sales Agent is a true vocation. Take Ahmet in Turkey, who is passing on his experience to his son Mustafa. This profession entices talent from generation to generation, thereby engendering a natural sense of loyalty and galvanising trusted partnerships with the local agricultural community.

“I have been working for TIMAC AGRO Avrasya since 2015. My father is a farmer and a TSA. That’s how I got to know about TIMAC AGRO products before I joined the company. Today, I am proud to support the farmers: for me, TIMAC AGRO is a byword for quality and reliability. From my own experience, I can say that it’s been an advantage to work with my father: we’re stronger together!”

The Group implements, through its subsidiaries, training and expe-rience handover programs for roles that are particularly demanding in terms of involvement and the ability to adapt.

The Agrileader Programme at TIMAC AGRO Brasil

Agrileader is a programme whose aim is to develop the commercial strategy and performance levels of our teams. It enables them to or-ganise, consolidate and pass on a base of expertise, so that the Sales Directors are equipped with all the tools they need in order to effectively manage their team of TSAs (Technical Sales Agents).

Prioritisinglocal recruitment

The Groupe Roullier is a local partner to its customers, wherever they are in the world. It maintains close-knit relationships in order to understand and satisfy our contacts, with the overarching im-perative of aligning ourselves with

the unique cultural characteristics of each local setting. This is why the Group recruits men and women from these local areas, regardless of the hierarchical level of the po-sition in question. This orientation encourages multiculturalism, which is regarded as a true asset for the company.

Expert trainingat TIMAC AGRO

All Product Managers and Regional Directors at TIMAC AGRO subsi-diaries are given the opportunity to attend presentations and exchange workshops in Saint-Malo, each addressing specific agronomy topics

(photosynthesis, nitrogen efficiency, bio-stimulation, fertigation, stress management, etc.).

These events, which take place several times each year and are organised by our Agrosupplies division and the Centre Mondial de l’Innovation Roullier, are new training programmes designed for the exchange of best practices and agronomic expertise.

NUWEN customersatisfaction survey

As part of a wider approach to continuous improvement in terms of quality, NUWEN carried out a survey of its customers in spring 2018 in order to assess their satisfaction levels and allow them to express their views. The customers were asked about a number of topics, including services, products, and organisation. All the findings were published online via the company’s website, indicating the full results of the sur-vey and testimonials from customers. The survey’s findings led to a new action plan being implemented.

Partnershipswith the area

Technical partnershipsand skills transfer

Partnership between TIMAC AGRO Italia and the Navarre Brothers

Agriculture Foundation

TIMAC AGRO Italia has been working with the Navarre Brothers Agriculture Foundation (Fondazione per l’Agricoltura Fratelli Navarra), a major experimentation centre specialising in fruit farming. An innovation agreement between the two bodies, signed in 2017, would lead in 2019 to the introduction of new technological measures to aid with decision-making. This three-year techno-scientific partnership aims to develop new farming techniques, guaranteeing improved quality and yield levels for the main fruit and vegetable crops, all achieved in an environmentally friendly way.

Partnership between the Cameroon Development Corporation

and TIMAC AGRO

A sub-contracting agreement, per-taining to the fertilising of 400 ha of banana plantations over various locations, has been signed between the Cameroon Development Corporation (CDC) and TIMAC AGRO.

TIMAC AGRO is sharing its considerable expertise in banana farming, and implementing training programmes for the CDC teams.

Considering stakeholderexpectations with Florendi

Always eager to provide the best possible response to its clients’ needs, Florendi has mobilised its resources to place customers at the heart of its development process via several initiatives:

- Meetings with consumers are organised in order to combine the creation of new products with an opportunity for them to express their needs and expectations;

- Partnerships with local councils were initiated in 2018 and forma-lised in 2019, in order to provide support and guidance in the search for alternative solutions to the use of phytosanitary productions for the upkeep of green spaces.

Sustainable operation of Natura 2000 zones by the Compagnie

Armoricaine de Navigation

All of our sourcing plots for marine limestone sand are located in sea-side Natura 2000 zones. We are able to operate at these sites thanks to feedback reports demonstrating the anticipated impact of opera-tions, which are controlled and restricted, as well as scientific and environmental studies enabling ins-

pections and activity monitoring to be carried out.

The Groupe Roullier’s maritime sub-sidiary, the Compagnie Armoricaine de Navigation (or CAN), has been involved in consultation for Natura 2000 sites, and has participated in working groups in order to develop activity rosters and area assess-ments, actively sharing its data on given areas.

NUWEN partnership with local seaweed harvesters

The NUWEN process focuses on the processing of seaweed through the processes of harvesting, was-hing, drying, and grinding.

Seaweed has been harvested lo-cally by generations of Bretons, working on the foreshore at low tide. These workers carry a license from the French maritime authority, and adhere to best practices for the harvesting of seaweed as defined in the codes and regulations for biomass preservation. NUWEN is developing reliable, long-term relationships with these seaweed farmers The company supports them in the development of their production tools, including the acquisition of drying units.

Each year, 600 tonnes of fresh seaweed are processed by the company.

Open Days forthe Group's factories

Demonstrating our sense of transpa-rency and community spirit, several of the Group’s industrial sites ope-ned their doors to local residents, associations and employees’ fami-lies in 2018.

Since January 2018, TIMAC AGRO France and Phosphea production sites in Saint-Malo have launched the “Come in, we’re open” concept.

This initiative has allowed staff to organise one visit every other mon-th at each of the Group’s four facto-ries in Saint-Malo.

The Group’s doors are also open in Calvados, at the calcium carbo-nate extraction and processing site operated by Billy (NUWEN). Here, staff felt that it was necessary to forge closer ties with the local po-pulation. The launch of these two open-door schemes in 2018 has helped demonstrate the value of our

staff’s roles to their families, and to share information about activities at the sites and the specific exper-tise involved in calcium carbonate processing.

The “Terre & Mer” (‘Land & Sea’) MA programme is a training course co-designed between Sciences Po Rennes and companies from the Brittany region, of which the Groupe Roullier is a top-tier partner. The degree course was established in response to demand on the ground, in order to create a link between technical experts and the social and political realms.

Several employees from the Group have given classes at the university based on their area of expertise, including project financing, change management within a company or contractual engineering and compliance.

As part of this partnership, the Group has also hosted students in work-study programmes for financial management of innovative projects within the CMI Roullier.

Startup sponsorship throughthe Village by CA initiative

By becoming the 15th ‘Ambassador’ for the Village by CA Ille et Vilaine (a subsidiary of the Crédit Agricole Ille et Vilaine bank) at the end of 2018, and by participating in the 5th Selection Committee for innovative startups, the Groupe Roullier is throwing its weight behind local innovation, development and employment.

As an ‘Ambassadeur du Village’, the Groupe Roullier will actively participate in the development of startups selected along with the other Ambassadors: this includes invol-vement in the support programme (mentoring, hosting workshops and conferences), and enhancing their visibility via communication chan-nels and media. This initiative brings together business, experimentation and even potential partnerships.

Environmental communications operations for the general public

by TIMAC AGRO France

In 2016, TIMAC AGRO France implemented its new communica-tions concept, “Objectif Nourrir Demain” (the ‘Feed Tomorrow Ob-jective’), throughout its Saint-Malo factories, accompanied by a website: www.objectifnourrirdemain.fr. The project was rolled out across all TIMAC AGRO France factories,

and was also the subject of a bro-chure distributed to local residents, explaining the company’s vision and organisational structure, as well as its commitments, manufacturing procedures and expertise. In 2017, a booklet entitled “On vous dit tout” (‘everything you need to know’) was compiled for all TIMAC AGRO France staff, in order to provide answers to any questions they might have regarding the environmental impact of our factories. This booklet was then extended, and distributed to all the Group’s 8000 employees.

Community initiatives

Community initiatives bythe Phosphea Spain teams

In December 2018 and January 2019, Phosphea’s Spanish subsi-diaries were engaged in a number of community and charity-based initiatives for various associations.

In groups of two, Phosphea’s Spain-based staff volunteered their after-noons to help with various Food Bank initiatives, including helping to collect food items.

At the same time, the subsidiary col-lected over 100 kg of food items for the Hospitalidad de Santa Teresa Institution.

Donations of pastriesat the Food Bank

Maison Colibri contributes to the fight against waste by engaging with Food Banks. In 2018, 3.2 tons of unsold pastries were donated to Charente-Maritime (located in Péri-gny) to be distributed to people in precarious situations.

Maison Colibri’s partnershipwith the Secours Catholique

Launch of the Ethics and Conformity Programme

After a year of work, the Ethics and Conformity Programme was launched in 2018 with the creation of a reference document: the Ethics and Conformity Charter.

Its aim is to help employees, directors and company representatives to embody the Group's ethical

approach on a daily basis in their professional practices.

The principles of Respect, Responsi-bility and Integrity form the basis of policies and procedures for res-pecting people's rights, respecting health, safety and the environment, and fighting corruption.

Reporting to the Management Board and made up of the Directors of the primary central divisions, the Ethics and Conformity Committee meets regularly. It provides advice

and ensures that the Group's po-licies are properly deployed with the implementation of procedures that outline the Charter and monitor alerts.

In 2018, three alerts relating to non-compliant actions were reported and handled appropriately.

The deployment of the program and its tools is ongoing primarily in France and also internationally.

Purchases and supplier relationships

The Group's purchasing and sup-plier relations policy is based on strict procedures in terms of certi-fication, quality, procurement lead times with an elaborate system of exchange rate hedging, and se-cure payments by COFACE credit insurance. It is structured globally by the Group's Code of Ethics and Compliance.

Feeding the world is an exciting project. As a specialist in Plant Nutrition, Animal Nutrition and involved in Agri-food, this is a challenge that the Groupe Roullier faces by relying on a solid and dynamic structure, where human collaborative energy, whether internal or external, shapes its current course.

Exercising ethics and respect, giving employees a sense of responsibility, daring to innovate, and challenging to perform – these are the values that the Group wishes to bring to all its stakeholders: employees, partners, suppliers, etc.

Customer/supplier partnerships to optimise

product use

Magnesitas Navarras offers its customers a tailored partnership to optimise the use of its products.

The partnership is signed for three to four years to ensure that it is completely efficient. Cooperation starts with a diagnostic of the si-tuation, on which the proposal and the implementation of optimisation measures are based, with an aim to share the benefits of this optimi-sation with the customer.

The success of these partnerships relies as much on the transparency of the relationship between the two parties as on the quality and responsiveness of the technical assistance provided on-site by the Technical and R&D departments at Magna.

Training and employability

Individual and collective training programmes

Groupe Roullier activities are highly specific. They require that products, different environments and exper-tise be methodically learned. This is why training courses are custo-mised, so that every employee can perform to the best of their ability within their field of expertise and have prospects for hierarchal or transverse career progression.Training within the Groupe Roullier has three different aspects: exter-nal training for employability, skills sharing, and digitisation. The significant number of hours of training per employee helps to ensure their employability and that they can rise to future challen-ges. While the training carried out by external service providers

constitutes the largest volumes, the Group is also betting on the success of transversality. The Corporate departments regularly provide training for operational staff, parti-cularly on the latest regulatory and legislative developments. The training policy also aims to make things more international and digital. From 2019, more and more training programmes will be available in e-learning format.

Internal collaborative training

The Phosphea HR department has initiated a process of sharing skills internally, which involves combining the skills of certain em-ployees to develop those of their colleagues. Carrying out this exer-cise makes it possible to improve the autonomy of operation and productivity, to strengthen the links between employees, and to exploit

their value. For example, the inter-nal training programmes proposed in 2018 primarily involved the use of tools such as PowerPoint, Office 365 and pivot tables.

Cooptation

Thanks to the co-option programme launched in France in 2018, em-ployees can, if they so wish, recom-mend a person they know for a po-sition within the Group. Also known as “participatory recruitment”, this initiative is a positive procedure that means employees can identify a person with whom they would be proud to work, while being rewar-ded with a specific bonus.

Orientation

Welcoming new employees to the Group is a key part of HR policy. Therefore, each new employee benefits from a personalised intro-duction with their Human Resources Manager, so they can get to grips with all the practical aspects of life at the company (booking time off, employee representative com-mittee, profit-sharing, etc.). On the team level, each subsidiary will offer orientation for newly recruited employees to find out

about the Group’s careers in their entirety, through conferences with experienced speakers and visits to research and/or production sites. This is also an opportunity for em-ployees with different profiles to meet each other. In the Agrosupplies division, this orientation may be complemented by a “culture” day, which is a day with a Technical Sales Representative to get to grips with the marketing model, as close to the products and farmers as possible.

Recruitment

In competition with other attractive sectors and due to the geographical location of its various sites, in 2018 the Group launched original initiatives to discover, in a very personalised way, the potential of the positions offered within the company and to attract new talent.

The Graduate Program

In July 2018, the very first graduating class was selected to become the young talent of the Groupe Roullier. Having joined in mid-September, their mission is to accompany the development of the company for the years to come.

The programme was launched with a very special day organised in Saint Malo on 7 July 2018, and na-med “007” for the occasion. At the end of the day, 41 young graduates out of the 55 present expressed their desire to join the Group.

Around 15 of the young candi-dates have now been selected and recruited directly on a permanent contract, with a probationary pe-riod of four months. The first month of training is spent learning about the Group’s business lines and work environment. Then, the newly quali-fied young people each have two periods of ten weeks to perform two operational assignments for different business lines and mana-gement departments within the com-pany. In the interest of fairness, they have all been hired starting on the same salary.

Equality and diversity

Feminization of the Group's governance bodies

Parity within Groupe Roullier’s governance bodies is one of the pillars of its action to promote professional equality. The feminization of these bodies is observed by the almost exclusively female composition of the Supervisory Board and the equal share in the number of men and women among the members of the Strategic Committee and the Executive Board.

Ty Mousses Babilou creche

As part of its campaigns to promote a better work/life balance, thus addressing an issue of equality, Groupe Roullier offers access to the “Ty Mousses” creche in Saint-Malo.

This partnership provides access to regular places in the creche.

Awarenessof disability issues

On 8 October 2018, sensory experiences and conferences were organised in Saint-Malo to raise awareness of disabled employees. Guided by visually impaired people, employees were invited to walk through the “Dark Lab” specially installed for the occasion, to learn how to use senses other than sight.

Working with adapted companies and associations

Groupe Roullier is appealing to several adapted companies and associations for disabled people to provide services related to the work environment. They are working in particular with CAT Armor to main-tain green spaces across their sites, as well as the association “Les bou-chons d’émeraude” (support for fa-milies with ill or disabled children), who recover plastic lids.

Collective agreements

Numerous human resources topics are subject to agreements with staff representative bodies: social dia-logue, profit-sharing, share-holding, work hours, supplemental health in-surance, etc.

In 2018, the collective agreement on strategic workforce planning, in place in France since 2009, was brought up to date. The preamble to the agreement sets out the impor-tance of employees to the Group’s growth.

Training, orientation, mobility, and professional development, in line with the strategic direction of the Group, are approached and im-plemented operationally and all the company’s actors are involved in this continuous improvement ap-proach. Particular attention is paid to the employment of young people and disabled people.

Timac Agro Italia:Great Place to Work

For the first time in 2016, TIMAC AGRO Italia participated in the Great Place to Work scheme, which rewards companies that offer positive employee experiences.

Proudly ranking 23rd nationally (for companies of between 50 and 500 employees), the Italian subsidiary took part in the Great Place to Work scheme again and came 20th in the 2017 rankings across all categories and achieved 3rd place in the classification for millennials (under 35 years old).

In 2018, TIMAC AGRO Italia continued their work on a continuous improvement approach for the well-being of their employees and published a “sustainability report”, which not only monitors the social dimension of their commitment but also the environmental and economic dimensions.

Timac Agro Brasil:Love Mondays

In Brazil, employees can express themselves through the Love Mondays platform. This website allows employees to evaluate their employer and make comments anonymously. The survey covers pay, quality of life, career opportunities and company culture. 96 % of the respondents recommend TIMAC AGRO Brasil. Thanks to this score, the Brazilian Agrosupplies subsidiary is in 17th position out of 70,000 companies.

Roullier OlympicGames 2018

On 21 September 2018, the first edition of the Roullier Olympic Games, open to French employees in the Grand Ouest region, took place on the beach in Lancieux.

500 people responded to the invi-tation, then forming 37 teams who competed against each other for a half-day of sport in the spirit of com-munity and good fun. A series of 10 activities (paddle-boarding, beach rugby, sumo fighting, blind racing, etc.) was offered, in teams of 10 to 12 employees. The event was cove-red by the company’s social media network, Yammer.

Through the R'JO, the employees reaffirmed their attachment to the pillars of the Group's culture: challenge as a cardinal value and a taste for surpassing oneself. Their obvious enthusiasm has greatly contributed to the success of this operation and its renewal in 2019.

Sporting association(AS Timac)

From the Sunday jogging sessions to which Daniel Roullier invited his employees, to the recent “Roullier Olympic Games 2018”, sport is used as a unifying tool within the Group. By way of example, the Group’s sporting association, AS Timac, allows employees from Saint-Malo and Dinard, as well as their families, to practice a sporting, cultural or manual activity. Over

30 activities are offered, including sailing, yoga, basketball, dance, scrapbooking, sewing, and so on.

Yammer

Yammer is Groupe Roullier’s inter-nal social media network. Launched in late 2017, it now has 2000 users worldwide and is currently being rolled out to ultimately bring all Group employees together.

It is provided to employees to facilitate communication and infor-mation-sharing and allow them to share discussions around thematic communities, areas of professional interest, and project groups. The users can find messages from Ma-nagement, best practices and testi-monies from other subsidiaries and job groups, team-building sessions or even expert publications explai-ning the basics of Animal and Plant Nutrition. Yammer thus helps unify employees, promote the transfer of knowledge, and encourage a fee-ling of belonging to the Group, in spite of the great range of different jobs and geographic distance.

Social dialogue and Quality of life in the workplace

Happy Trainees

Groupe Roullier are offering em-powering internships across our en-tire business. Constantly looking to improve this support, the Group has signed up to the Happy Trainees

certification programme. This certi-fication is awarded by Choose My Company, and is a confirmation of the quality and the mentoring of the offered internships.

For their first involvement in the programme, the Group came 19th in the French ranking of companies and groups with between 100 and 499 trainees

All the French trainees responded to an 18-point questionnaire.

The variety of tasks assigned as well as the trust placed in the trainees are the advantages most cited by respondents.

Happy Candidates

Beyond their commitment to young people, the Group chose to enter into a candidate experience impro-vement procedure by getting invol-ved in the Happy Candidates certi-fication programme. Also awarded by Choose My Company, this certi-fication testifies to the quality of the recruitment process.

For their first participation in the programme, the Group came 5th in the French ranking of companies or groups with between 1 and 1000 candidates, with an overall score of 3.9/5 and a recommendation rate of 78 %.
