Proiect ReDort
Most of the real world data generating sources like sensors generate data which are dynamic or non-
stationary in nature and whose underlying data distribution changes with time. Such changes in the
underlying data distribution ofthe data slream are also refered as concept drifts. Although, the classical
machine leaming methods are doing well for the classification ofthe static dat4 however, such classicalmethods do not perform well with concept drifting data streams because the occurrence ofconcept driftsreduces the performance or accuracy of the classifier with time. Consequently, it is highly desired todesign classifiers that can perform consistently well throughout the data strearn in terms of accuracy
regardless concept drifts present in the data stream. Such kind ofconsistent classifiers are having veryhigh relevance for online real-time decision making in various real world applications and problems
like real-time traffic control and monitoring, climate monitoring, stock exchange monitoring, disaster
management, and agriculture. This research project will focus on the design and implementation ofnovel classification method that can perform consistently well with high accuracy thoughout the data
streams. For achieving this, the research work will emphasize in two directions; the first will focus on
the finding or developing a fast and accurate concept drift detection methods and the second will focus
on the updating or rebuilding mechanisms of classifier accordingly in order to maintain and increase
the classification accuracy with time in the presence ofconcept drifts. The performance ofthe proposed
classifier will be evaluated on the synthetic data sheams generated by various data stream genemtors as
well on very large sized available real world datasets. Finally, the implemented proposed models willbe utilized in some problem ofthe real world. Following research objectives that are achieved afler the
completion of the Proj ect:
t. To do literature survey ofthe existing methods for dealing the problem.
2. To desiga and implementation ofnovel classification method that can perform consistently well withhigh accuracy throughout the concept drifting data streams.
3. To perform empirical evaluation of the proposed method on the various synthetic and real world
dataset in order to compare its performance with the existing methods.
4. To utilize the proposed method on any real world problem ofsocial relevance.
Status of the Project: Completed

Project Title: Automated Green Corridor for life Saving Vehicles
A solution developed for minimizing the response time ofemergency vehicles. Traffic a persistent
problem in all major cities globally, often ambulances get delayed due to traffic congestion leading to
fatal consequences. This technology can be easily integrated with existing road infrastructure and
creates a temporaD/ green corridor on pre-defined lane for ambulances serving critical cases. Pre-
waming mechanism to alert all vehicles on roadway and dedicate one lane on roadway for emergency
vehicle only. Other vehicles have few minutes for clearing passage and have clear guidelines
for movement or lane preference. Self-sustainable revenue model: - Cost of installing and maintaining
additional infrastructue will be recovered from advertising revenue.
Following are the objectives of the Project that were intended to achieved after the completion of the
Project:
(l) Public health and emergency medical services.
(2) Smart roads and sustainable cities.
(3) Make in India (Patent pending technologr)
(4) Global innovation for saving millions of lives.
(5) A vision of NEW INDIA where life comes first. In INDIA according to the National Crime Records
Bureau, nearly 24,012 people die each day due to delay in getting medical aid. Thus uiticality and
magnitude ofthis problem should be addressed with serious attention.
Status of the project: Completed.

Detection and classification of lung diseases from CT/MRI scans using image
segmentation and soft computing techniques.
Objectives of the project:
o To develop a prototype system for Detection and classification of lung diseases fromCT/MRl scans using image segmentation and soft computing techniques.
. To support the radiologist's diagnosis with Computer-Aided Detection (cAD)
algorithms. To improve computational speed, data accessibility and sharing of distributed image
databases. To Use computed Tomography images for the early diagnosis of lung cancer.
Social Relevance of the Project:
Lung diseases are the most common disease which causes mortality in India and
worldwide.
Smoking is directly responsible for almost 90 percent of lung cancer deaths in lndia.
Many semiautomatic and automatic techniques have been proposed for lung
diseases detection.
. Se8mentation is needed in various spheres such as in diagnostics, therapy
monitoring, surgery planning and several other medical applications.
. As such for disease detection, analysis and cure, medical imaging has become theresearch topics of interest

Proi ect Report:
A Computational intelligence approach in EEG Analysis for characterizing different levelsof Intellectual Disability and Standardization of Yoga Protocol for mitd Disabted children
Intellectual disability (ID) is characterized by below-average intelligence or mental ability and alack of skills necessary for day{o-day living. People with intellectual disabilities can and doleam new skills, but they leam them more slowly. The child with intellectual disabilities showsdisorders at bodily scheme, perceptive-motor development and coordination levels, but properlystimulated, he/she can reach significant progress in psychomotor and motor fields
The children with intellectual disabilities find diffrculty in activities of daily living andfunctioning in society as the ability to leam and adapt to the changing environment is limited. Ascompared to other groups with disabilities these individuals have more functional limitations inadaptive behavior and motor function. Due to rheir ID (i.e., mild Disabled children) the timetaken to leam motor skills is prolonged. For children with mental retardation, fitness and overallfunctioning is lower as they are not active during the course of school day and have limitedopportunities to participate in the physical activities available to their peers. Therefore, thesechildren tend to be weaker and more susceptible to early fatigue than their peers.
However, children with ID have motor problems and higher-order cognitive deficits and objectcontrol' These results support the notion that besides being impaired in qualitative motor skillsintellectually challenged children are also impaired in higher-order executive functions.
Yoga is widely acknowledged as a feasible activity to engage inactive and sedentary individualsin physical activity. It requires minimal training, resources or expense and can be an appropriateactivity for individuals with intellectual disabilities. The researih literature indicates tiat yogahas the potential to improve health and functional capacity.
Therefore, the main objective of this study is to see the effect of yoga practices on motorfunction of intellectually disabled children.
The results of this study showed improvement in motor skills such as reaction time, eye handcoordination, static balance, and agility after 3 months ofyoga training. In fact, yoga for childrenis a relaxation technique that has been found to reduce stress and tension, diisipate excessenergy, relieve tiredness, lengthen attention span, improve physical healtl, sharpenconcentration, enhance mental clarity, and cultivate better interpersonal relationships.
In fact, Yoga training for a period of 3 months helped to improve selected motor function tests. The appearance of such result may be due to the fact that asanas, pranayamas, bandhas, andkriyas which generally give gentle massage to the inner muscles and cleans their impurities.Regular practice of such yogic exercises might have helped to improve overall performance ofthe muscles and joints and therefore results into the enhanced livel of gross motor functionabilities.
