About PureWave Networks
PureWave Networks develops high performance, compact, outdoor 4G base stations
Coverage and capacity of a macro base station, in a small form factor
Provides customers the lowest total cost of ownership:
Can operate without or without an ASN-GW
No Lock-in…Uses standard Mobile WiMAX CPE
Range of up to 24 Km/15 miles
Simple all outdoor installation
Available in licensed and unlicensed bands
RUS accepted & made in the USA

Most deployments are Non Line of Sight (NLOS)Trees, canyons, clutter, indoor penetrationAs antennas fade so does your performance! The solution is diversity. More antennas = more diversity.802.16d offers a single antenna and no diversity.
Example: Greenway Communications in Iowa was only able to serve 4 out of 10 customers before using PureWave equipment featuring Smart Antenna functionality. Now they are lighting up 9 out of 10!

RangeTraditionally greater link budget = greater range. Not necessarily so for 802.16e Mobile WiMAX which limits a base station’s range to 5 miles.PureWave has broken through that limit, allowing ranges up to 15miles, link budget permitting!!!
16e then allows us to exploit its OFDMA technology to greatly increase UL link budget as well as simultaneous users.
UL subchannelization apportions the channel to multiple simultaneous users (unlike 16d) and also allows them to concentrate their power into those subchannels (increasing link budget).
Smart Antenna technology such as that deployed by PureWave also increases link budget on both the DL and the UL.

Ease and Location of DeploymentRapidly rising data rate demands create the need to deploy more base stations closer to the users, in order to increase spectral re-use.This is not feasible using the traditional split-design macro base station approach of yesterday.A compact, all-outdoor, easy-to-deploy base station that can be flexibly mounted in a variety of locations is the solution. This approach also greatly reduces OPEX since it eliminates shelter and air conditioning costs.PureWave exploits a cutting-edge SmartAntenna architecture that allows us to achieve the power of a macro in a compact size.PureWave is allowing operators throughout the world to deploy full-power base stations in places they could either not access at all, or that were limited to low performance pico base stations.

PureWave Networks’ Economic Advantage
25
Macro BTS PWN Compact BTS
Shelter Cost $25K - $40K Not required
Labor & Installation Cost $10K - $20K * $2K - $8K
Site Lease Costs / month $2K - $3K $100** - $2K
ASN Gateway/AAA Server & Installation/Configuration Cost $40K-60K Not required
Total Cost Over 5 Years*** $195K - $300K $8K - $128K
* In some green field deployments cost can be dramatically higher** PWN compact BTS can be pole mountable, making rent minimal*** Costs will vary greatly between markets and deployment scenarios
Dramatically lower total cost of ownership
…And you’ll also save up to 50% or more on the base stations themselves…

Summary of PureWave’s Economic Advantage
26
Lower Equipment costs:Customers can save 20% to 50% on base station costs
Lower operating cost over 5 years:Is likely to be $195K more OPEX/CAPX
Lower support costs:No Eco-System required therefore only base station and CPE to support
