COUNSELLING SESSION
The world may be fraught with unprecedented consequences due to the pandemic, but DPSGI has
been relentlessly supporting, guiding, empowering and creating best of opportunities for its students
so that they can tide over these trying times and emerge as champions in the times to come. Regular
Career Counselling sessions by the best of Resource persons in Mindler have gone a long way in
helping students make informed career choices, deciding on strategies to follow their dreams and
most importantly in exploring their innate strengths and building on them persistently.
Keeping in mind the needs of students of class XII (2020-21), whose CBSE Board exam and other
national level entrance exams have been postponed, the school conducted an invaluable session
titled ‘How to utilise the next few months’ in the online mode. Mr. Prikshit Dhanda, a leading Life
Coach and Motivational Speaker, professionally trained by Harvard University was the resource
person. Ms. Vaishnavi Chadda also a professional from Mindler was also a part of the session.
The session commenced with a warm welcome extended by the school Principal Ms. Meera Mathur to
the Resource persons and the students. She emphasized on how difficult the year has been for all
students but particularly for this batch, it being the last year of their schooling where life had to be all
happening and vibrant in the lush green school play fields and classrooms. The school has done a
commendable job in keeping them motivated and yet it is time again to dust off the cobwebs and get
going in these critical times since the most crucial task for them to get the best of admissions to
colleges still remains.
Mr. Dhanda divided the session brilliantly in two different segments. In the first segment he
elaborated on the spread available i.e. Board Exams, Entrance Exams, College admissions, Soft Skills
elements, reservoir of resources students are using and last but not least their Physical and Emotional
well-being. Next, he gave precious inputs on Productive and Non-Productive hours of students with
practical examples so that children can introspect on their time management. This was followed by an
invaluable guidance on strategies to prepare for boards at a short notice of 15-20 days and of taking a
considered decision of blocking a seat in a university or in a programme of one’s choice so that they
don’t run out of options by the time other entrance tests are held later on. He emphasized on ways to
utilize both free and paid online tests and prepare for Aptitude Tests for different universities. The five
‘Golden Rules’ or the ‘Bucket’ for excelling in an interview he provided are priceless as are the
guidelines shared to ensure keep oneself motivated since ultimately it has to be the individual who
has to devise it. A number of queries posted by the students were answered aptly.
The Principal thanked Mr. Dhanda and Ms. Vaishnavi for the invigorating session and urged the
students not to stagnate or be ‘minimum viable’ but to be tenacious and focus on the goal. A beautiful
quote shared by her “If you want to be happy, you have to be happy on purpose. When you wake up
in the morning, you can't just wait to see what kind of day you'll have. You have to decide what kind
of day you'll have” urged the listeners to introspect. The session ended with a Vote of Thanks proposed
by the Senior Co-ordinator, Ms Nidhi Narayan.

they have to accomplish this year. Based on very interesting inputs shared by students, very
systematically, he dwelt upon four crucial areas they need to focus and work upon immediately. He
elaborated on how absolute clarity in Goal Setting is the crux of the whole matter. Breaking this idea
into parts, he emphasised on how students need to ensure that they get admission in good colleges and
institutions of their choice next year. They must secure good marks in their CBSE Board Examination.
They will have to crack the Entrance Exams as applicable. They need to successfully clear the
Aptitude Tests and be ready with their Profile Analysis for Profile Based admission.
