COLD WEATHER TRIAD MEETINGS
Parent Teacher meetings are
scheduled for Thursday, December
3rd, 2021 from 1pm-6pm.
Nursery/Kindergarten interviews
will be a full day. On Thursday,
November 25th, an email was sent to
parents/guardians via School
Messenger to sign up for an
appointment with your child/ren’s
classroom teacher(s) for Parent
Teacher Conferences. These will be
virtual interviews and once you sign
up, you will receive a link you will
use at your assigned time to meet
with the classroom teacher. If you
are unable to attend your scheduled
meeting time, please contact the
classroom teacher to set an
alternative time.
If your child requires an
Individualized Learning Plan, the
classroom teacher will review this
with you during the meeting and you
will be able to ask any questions you
have at that time.
Just a friendly reminder about the cold
weather and the guidelines.
Staff will be available to greet students
for entrance after 8:45am during cold
weather days. At lunch time, doors will be
open for student entrance at 12:55 pm.
There will be no entry prior to those
times! Please do not send your child to
school prior to these times as they will
not be allowed into the building.
Lunch program students will be supervised
in the classroom by the Lunch Program
staff. They are not available to supervise
students not registered for Lunch Program.
Cold weather guidelines are as follows:
INDOOR RECESS: Students stay indoors for
recess when the wind chill reaches –28
degrees Celsius.
The temperature and windchill readings can
be found at the Environment Canada
website by clicking the link at the top on the
WSD1 website.
Please ensure your child dresses
appropriately for the weather, wearing a
winter parka, mittens, hats, scarves, ski
pants and winter boots.
If you need help providing these for your
child, please contact Ms. Malou Josue at the
school, and she will be able to contact ‘Koats
for Kids’ on your behalf.

On October 29th, the Winnipeg School
Division celebrated it’s 150th
Anniversary! A virtual ceremony took
place, hosted by Ace Burpee, that
Tyndall Park students viewed by live
stream. Grade 5 & 6 students who
helped research the history and created
a video highlighting Tyndall Park
School, were treated to cake provided to
each school. Banners were created by
schools that are now installed on lamp
posts in and around the Downtown Biz,
West End Biz and Corydon Biz areas.
Check out the Tyndall Park School
banner located at Portage and Garry
Street.
WINNIPEG SCHOOL DIVISION 150th
ANNIVERSARY
Through a Literacy 4 Life Grant and in
partnership with Aurora Family Therapy
Centre, Ms. Malou Josue, Intercultural
Support Worker, was able to facilitate a
virtual Halloween party with over 60
children, ages 0-6 attending , some from
Tyndall Park School and others in the
division. Each child that attended
virtually, received a Halloween loot bag!

REMEMBRANCE DAY SERVICE
This year Tyndall Park School held our
Remembrance Day service on November
10th by Zoom. Room 10 students
participated in a ceremony that took
place in the gym but was virtually
attended by the rest of the staff and
students from their classrooms. Thanks
to those students and Ms. Dow, who
played ‘The Last Post’, for their
participation. It was a moment to reflect
and honour those
who served.
WHS VISITS GRADE 3
Rooms 4 & 2 have been having some doggone good fun! The Winnipeg
Humane Society has been visiting the classrooms with some of their
critter friends and giving the students a first hand (or paw) look at the
animals and showing off some of their talents.
One visitor has been a 3 year old dog named Biden, accompanied by Mr.
L. Biden performed some tricks and then visited with each student.
Other visitors have included Pumpkin, a rescue cat brought in by
Samantha from the Winnipeg Humane Society’s Education Department.
Students enjoy these visits and learning about the many animals at the
Humane Society and their success stories.

BOOKS! BOOKS! BOOKS!
Once again our Intercultural Support Worker, Ms. Malou Josue has been very busy!
Through First Book Canada in collaboration with Amazon.ca, Ms. Malou was able to
provide each of our grade 5 & 6 students with a new book to add to their home
collection. As you can see from the photos, our students were thrilled! A big thank
you to First Book Canada and Ms. Malou!
