Improving Visibility

Dear Valued DacEasy by Sage Customer,

I field correspondence from customers on a daily basis, as I'm sure most of you do as well. It's always a fantastic opportunity for me to connect with the people who utilize the software and services we produce. I use each experience as a learning opportunity in order to make sure we are doing the best job possible. Where there is a chance for us to do a better job, I jump on it and make sure that customer feedback is one of the primary drivers of the business.

It's interesting to me to learn that, quite often, customers are seeking features that already exist in the products they have today. Sometimes the feature they are looking for is in a version that has not been installed by them yet—but is just an easy upgrade away. More often than not, the feature or function is literally right underneath their fingertips but they don't realize it. For example, we have dedicated a large amount of resources to improving the reporting abilities of our products over the past two years, all based on direct feedback from customers like you. The result is that the latest versions have significantly improved reporting. In many products, we've tried to “expose” features that were sometimes buried under several layers of menus so that customers could more easily access them, with fewer clicks.

I know a lot of times I wish that a product I use could do “such and such” and am absolutely thrilled when I learn that it can, or just a simple upgrade would allow it to do so. Based on the

amount of hard work that the teams here at Sage pour into the products and services we offer, it's possible there are capabilities you don't even know about in a product you have invested in. Introducing DacEasy by Sage Version 2011

Welcome to the August edition of The Source for DacEasy by Sage! We are very excited about the recent release of DacEasy 2011, as it contains features and enhancements that will help make running your business even easier. In addition to an updated user interface, DacEasy 2011 includes a number of important feature enhancements:

● Usability enhancements such as lookups next to validated fields and watermarks within grid views that allow you to easily identify the purpose of a field, as well as scrollbars next to grid views to more easily review data on your forms.

● Increased detail descriptions that allow you to now enter up to 1,024 characters of description text on a detail line. This increase allows service organizations to provide the detail necessary for the work they perform on behalf of their clients.

● Enhanced workflow tool that provides a graphical guide for 16 different business processes within DacEasy. Additionally, DacEasy now provides the reports associated with these processes next to the workflow, making it easy to produce reports related to the tasks that you are performing.

● New detail bank reconciliation report that provides bank reconciliation information in the most commonly requested format and also provides the functionality to print the report for any date range that you choose.

● A consolidated dashboard that provides all five dashboards in a single view, making it quick and easy for you to obtain key performance information about your business.

It’s now easier than ever to use DacEasy by Sage. DacEasy 2011 includes an enhanced workflow feature that can walk you through 16 common business processes. These workflow guides include:

The DacEasy Business Center now opens to the Workflow Guides view by default. Once there, simply click on a workflow guide to access it and to be guided through the procedures within the workflow. You can click on tasks to bring up the appropriate transaction entry screen, for example, and avoid having to navigate through the menus from the toolbar. The DacEasy Business Center also displays reports relevant to workflow activities.

Installing DacEasy on Windows Vista, Windows 7, and in 64-bit Environments

Many of you have started to purchase new hardware that includes 32-bit processors with Windows Vista, and more commonly 64-bit processors and Windows 7. For DacEasy 2011, we have updated the installer and tested the software to ensure you can take advantage of these newer operating systems.

As a reminder, do not forget to review the DacEasy website periodically for updates and service releases.

In the last DacEasy newsletter we announced the upcoming launch of a customer portal— a new, streamlined self-service website. While the customer portal is still in the works, it will not be available as soon as originally planned. We’ll keep you posted as to the new launch date, but in the meantime, you still have access to the DacEasy Knowledgebase, the same online resource our technical support analysts use to provide up-to-date tips, tricks, and information on your software.
