educationalist and established part of latest cutting-edge technology with keen interest on

Biotechnology that benefit to the society. Innovative teacher devoted to learning and achieving

global competence. Passionate about teaching and have trained many young students in the field

of marine Biotechnology, Natural Product Research and Drug Discovery from Macroalgae.

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE:

• Postgraduate Thesis: Study on the effect of Hepatotoxin and Hepatoprotective agent in

Kidney and Brain of Swiss Albino Mice- A Model study – Mainly involves to study the

oxidative status of kidney and brain affected by the hepatotoxin isoniazid and rifampicin.

The damage induced was measured by Assay as ABTS, Total reduced glutathione (GSH),

Macromolecular damage (TBARS) and the toxicity level by measuring Acetylcholine-

esterase, Total nitrate level.

• Undergraduate Thesis: Effect of Terminalia chebula fruit extract on Cadmium-induced

Nephrotoxicity in Rats - To investigate the protective effect of terminalia chebula fruit

extract on the tissue and circulatory antioxidant status and lipid peroxidation in cadmium

induced toxicity in rats.

I am Mrs. R. Thiruchelvi, Assistant Professor & Admission Advisor, Department of Bio-

Engineering, Vels Institute of Science, Technology and Advanced Studies, Chennai, India. I have

dedicated to academics and research in latest cutting-edge technologies in the field of

biotechnology. My research findings illuminate on Environmental Biotechnology, Marine

Biology, Cell Culture, Biopolymers, Drug Discovery, Regimen and Development. My passion for

research led me as expert in proposal submission, research methodology, problem formulation and

publication. I have published 20 research and review papers in esteemed peer reviewed Scopus

indexed national and international journals. Honored for Active contribution to VISTAS as

Admission Representation of Biotech Department for the year 2017-2018 & 2018-2019. Honored

My thirst for exploring Biotechnology never quenches, to prove the instance, I have participated

It is great pleasure to share that I am young Entrepreneur in Developing the Bio-Nano Composite

Degradable Plastics, in which it is in the stage of start-up venture by joining hands with young students.

My Thirst towards Science never Ends & Continues, by keeping me to updating new

My ultimate goal is to bring as many Young Scientists & to Produce Beneficial Products,
