2018 CSR theme - GRIT- was conceived to instill valuable experience and applicable

skill-sets to our beneficiaries; paying homage to the proverb “Give a man a fish and

you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”

Relationships in teams remains the foundation of the Ultimate GRIT Challenge.

Together with the help from Love Action Project and our ecosystems partners

(ComCrop, MyBox, Pope Jai Thai, Refresh Flowers, *SCAPE and Ya Kun), we delivered

an experience memorable for the beneficiaries and staff, alike.

Local entrepreneurs on board to support us in this initiative to promote skill-based learning. For most of the students,

this is their first time being exposed to real-life working environment, and we hope that they will be able to take their

learnings back to school, apply them and share their experiences with their friends.”

“The role of CSR is more than just about doing charity or

doing good for the community- an area I believe where we

can continue to build greater awareness. We view the role of

CSR as ultimately creating value for different stakeholders

including customers, suppliers, community and employees.”

Infocredit Holdings, there has been a lot of discussion around how we as a company could better integrate our CSR

activities into our overall strategy. Given the resources and capabilities which we have as an organization, we believe

that a skills-based CSR programme would create a more sustainable impact on both beneficiaries and employees.”

Under the umbrella of Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY), *SCAPE Co Ltd isa non-proit organisation with its mission and vision rooted in support of youth, talent and leadership development. The organisation aims to facilitate youth-oriented programmes and support within various communities of youth interest in Singapore. Key pillars are in entrepreneurship, music, media, dance and e-sports.

Comcrop is Singapore’s first AVA-licensed rooftop farm. We grow herbs and vegetables without pesticides on marginalised land, close to our consumers, so that we can all enjoy delicious, fresh, flavourful vegetables that have a longer shelf life. Our methods greatly reduce the amount of resources used, like water, land, and nutrients, lessening the impact on the environment. This also ensures food security is increased, and food miles are minimised. Through working with the community, educational institutions, and differently-abled people, we allow everyone to make a meaningful contribution to our food ecosystem, ensuring that our food is sustainably grown.

Popejai Pte. Ltd. provides employment and training opportunities to eight beneficiary groups such as persons with intellectual disabilities, mental health issues, hard of hearing/deaf, visually impaired, youth-at-risk, disadvantaged and the vulnerable. Making up 90% of the workforce, we strongly believe in the potential of the marginalised groups, transforming lives of our staff and families in an engaging and sustainable way. We offer dining, bento, catering, events, production and workshop services.

MyBox is a social enterprise founded in 2009 by our founder Elijah Ted Ng who was 13 at that time. We started off with a push cart at Vivocity and in 2013, we set up our first permanent retail outlet at Scape Underground. Since then, we have embarked in projects such as Haircut with a HeArt. Project Haircut with a HeArt helps boost the self-esteem of students and also ensures that with a proper haircut, they would meet the grooming requirements of schools to take their examinations. Following closely, we have a 5-year initiative - Project Vision.  Project Vision was launched in Medan, Indonesia, with each exercise helping over hundreds of families with youths suffering from myopia. MyBox @ Scape Underground (managed by The Maverick Co) constantly works with youths of different backgrounds on staff. MyBox is also a platform who partners people with special needs.
