A CHANGE THE VOICE -Volce- PASSIVE VOICE ACTIVE VOICE voICE It is a form of a sentence that tells whether the action is done by the subject or the effect of the action is received. ACTIVE VOICE When a Subject acts, the sentence is said to be in Active Voice. He writes a letter. She is doing her homework. PASSIVE VOICE When the effect of action is received by the Subjective Object the sentence is said to be in Passive Voice. Example:A letter is written by him. TRANSITIVE VERB It is a verb that transits its action to the Object (or) affects the Object.

Transit= Affect.

They break all the plates.

INTRANSITIVE VERB It is a verb that does not transit its action so object is not used with it.

[An Intransitive Verb cannot affect]

He goes to school in the morning.

LIntransitive Verb She is coming from your house.

Intransitive Verb

We cannot change the sentence with Intransitive Verb into Passive Voice

(except order & request).

VOICE (1) For Passive Voice, Verb 3rd form is always needed.

(2) The Verb used before Verb 3rd form must have

HOW TO KNOW THAT THE SENTENCE IS IN PASSIVE

Transformation : Active Voice to Passive Voice

Three rules are applied in all the sentences.

1 subjectand Object will be replaced by each other.

2 In Passive Voice Verb 3rd form is always used

3 By is used in Passive Voice.

Example

She writes a letter. [Active voice]

You will often get two types of sentences.

FIRST TYPE

(1) You will get One Verb (Only Main Verb) in the sentence.

Example: dived into the pool.

Use is/ am /are in Present tense. Use was/ were in Past tense.

Rule (1) If there is only one main verb, we should use Is/ Am /Are in Present Tense

and was/ were in the past tense before the 3rd form of Verb. (2) When Helping and Main verb both are used in the sentence, "be" will

always be used in Passive Voice.

A song Was being sung by him. (Passive) [Continuous Tense] A song has] been sung by him. ( Passive) [Perfect Tense]

Rule: When Helping and Main verb' both are used in the sentence, be/

being /been is used before the third form of verb.
