I am fine. It is autumn in Hong Kong. It is cool and dry today. I like

autumn because I can go on picnics.

This year I am a Primary Three student. Life at school is so fun. My

I have a reading session on Tuesday and Thursday. I like it very much

because I can bring my favourite book to school. I like P.E. lessons

At the same time, a boy throws the rubbish on the floor, so the

Later, Sam’s family walks to a pond. There are some children

Sam feels so angry. “Stop throwing stones at the ducks! You’re hurting

Our class teacher did the roll call after we had arrived at the park. After that,

best place for the picnic.

I had chosen a great place with shelter and a good view. I settled down with

my picnic mat. I ate some candy floss, cherry tomatoes and farfalle. I played football

and hide-and-seek with my friends after the meal.

I saw so many mosquitoes and sparrows when I was playing hide-and-seek. In

the first round, I was bitten by some mosquitoes when I was hiding behind the tree. I

felt itchy. I screamed “Ah!” and the classmate found me. I was the loser in that round.

December, 2019. I had the school picnic. I went to Jordan Valley Park

I played hide-and-seek with Venus and Lucy. I ate a piece of mango cake and

butterflies flying in the sky. I tripped over a rock and fell on the grass. I hurt my

hand. It felt painful so I cried.

Then Mark gave me a tissue and helped me clean up. I said, “Thank you.” I felt a

A Sporty Weekend

Last Saturday, I asked my friend, Laura if she had something to do the next day.

She said she did not have anything to do so she suggested going to the sports centre. I did not

know how to go there so Laura gave me the directions. “Go out of Exit A from Kwai Fong

MTR Station. Then turn left and walk straight ahead. After that, walk across the road.”

Then it was time I went there using the directions Laura gave me. When I got

there, I did not see the sports centre. I was lost! Luckily, I saw a policeman. I asked the

policeman where the sports centre was. He replied, “Start from here. Walk straight ahead,

Turn right and walk across the road. The sports centre is on your left. It is opposite Sky City

Plaza.” I said thank you to him and ran to the sports centre. In the meantime, I was worried.

Laura gave me the wrong directions. Is there something wrong? I wondered.

Then I ran towards the sports centre. However, I found that everything was dark.

When I was about to leave….surprize! The lights lit up at the same time. The doors were

closed with an enormous slam! Surprised, I turned around but there was still no one there.

The sports centre was giving me the creeps. I was scared when… “Blarp!” A party blower

sound rang in the air and a thousand people came running out behind tables. They were all

my friends! Then the policeman came. It was the same policeman that I asked for directions

to the sports centre. Then the policeman took off his cap and I recognized him immediately.

He was my dad! Just then some tables were pushed out. There was some food and a cake. On

the cake, it was written, Happy birthday, Bobo! I forgot it was my birthday! That was why

Laura told me the wrong directions and Dad was faking being a policeman!

In the end, we all had a good time together!

they chatted with each other. In the fast food shop, John ordered spaghetti with

ham and cheese and Sally ordered macaroni with mushrooms. The food was

delicious.

Before they left the fast food shop, John said, “Let’s buy soup noodles

with dumplings for Mum. It is the cheapest but the healthiest one. It’s only

twenty-two dollars fifty.” Sally said, “There’s a free drink with every set. Let’s

that, Molly did not sense the danger until one day.

One day, Molly heard two little monsters chatting, “Hey! The girl is

already very fat. Why doesn’t the boss share her with us?” said one of them. “I don’t know,

but……” “What are you two chatting about?” the boss asked, while they were chatting. He

stared at them. The two little monsters did not answer and they just ran away embarrassed.

From that day on, Molly decided to escape from the only window with

bars. So she ate a load of vegetables and fruit and she seldom ate junk food. A week later,

she was thin enough to squeeze through the bars. The only thing that she needed was a rope.

Fortunately, she found one in the corner of the small, dirty room so she passed the rope down

and slid down from the window while the monsters were sleeping. However, she landed with

a loud “thud” that was loud enough to wake up the monsters.

The monsters chased Molly and she was running as fast as her legs could

carry her. Molly was fast but there were too many monsters. They surrounded her quickly

and walked slowly to Molly. At last, they ate Molly happily.

Our Picnic

Yesterday was the time of the year that I loved the most. The

day I would go to Sai Kung Country Park for a picnic with my sister Susan, Dad

and Mum.

Since Mum wanted us to help her with the preparation work, we

went to ABC Supermarket to buy some food before we took the bus to Sai Kung.

We were thrilled and bought tonnes of food, like a tin of sausages, a loaf of bread,

a bunch of bananas and a few packets of chips. My mouth started watering while

we were doing the shopping and I could not wait to start our feast.

We chatted happily on the bus and yet something did not seem

right after we got off. Suddenly, Mum yelled, “Oh no! We left our food on the

bus! Let’s catch that bus and get the food back! Hurry up!” Then we tried to

chase after the bus but we failed because the bus left at high speed. To make

things worse, it started raining cats and dogs. “Let’s just go to The Best

Restaurant in the World instead,” Mum said, with a trace of disappointment in

her voice. Unfortunately, the food was yuckier than cow dunk, so we were sad.

Our annual picnic was completely ruined and Susan’s eyes

turned red and moistened when we were on the way home. “Let’s go there for a

picnic again next Saturday,” Dad suggested. A clown-like smile spread across

my sister’s face, “Hurray!”

Our Picnic

Yesterday was a sunny day so my family went to Sai Kung

Country Park for a picnic. My sister Susan and I did not have school. Dad

suggested that we could go for a picnic. Mum, Susan and I agreed that it was a

great idea.

Then we went to the supermarket for food and drinks. We put

our favourite potato chips, bread for sandwiches, bananas, sausages and

blackcurrant juice into the shopping cart. They were on a big offer. They were

also the food and drinks that we wanted for the picnic. We were excited.

When we got on the bus to the park, we were amazed by the

beautiful scenery, the bay. We took photos of this beautiful sight. Then we got

off the bus and started walking to the destination. We talked and laughed happily.

When we reached there, we suddenly found that our shopping bags were left on

the seat! We were hungry and helpless at that moment.

Fortunately, the bus driver was our neighbour. He was friendly

and helpful. He also got our phone number. He found that we left the food on the

bus so he phoned us. He came to the park with the food after he was off duty. In

the end, everyone was happy.

We invited him to join our picnic. We had a picnic

together. We enjoyed ourselves very much. On the way home, we sang songs

together. In the end, we were tired after getting home.

Our Picnic

Yesterday, Mum, Dad, Susan and I went to the supermarket

because we wanted to buy something for our picnic.

Then we checked out at the cashier. We bought two cartons of

blackcurrant juice, two packets of potato chips, a bunch of bananas. We paid

using Dad’s Octopus card. I was excited to have a picnic!

After that, we went there by bus. On the way, I saw lots of

beautiful flowers, butterflies and birds. I was amazed by them because they were

cute. After arriving at the destination, we got off the bus hurriedly and did not

notice that we had left our belongings on the bus carelessly! Soon, we were

extremely hungry. “I want food! Where’s our food, Mummy?” I grumbled. My

mum frowned and comforted me, “Just a few more seconds.” Mum was busy

searching all the bags. A few minutes later, I still had no food so we started to

discuss what to do next. After our discussion, we decided to leave for lunch and

come back later.

After lunch, we returned and we decided to go cycling and fly

our kites. We played in Sai Kung Country Park for the whole day. We had a

happy time even though we made a big careless mistake!

sometimes go cycling. On the way, we like feeding birds and enjoying the scenery.

We made friends at the park. For the first time we met, we were not friends like now.

Then I shared my food and we chatted together. The friendship between us had begun then!

We will cherish our friendship forever!

Mum was happy.

The Good Big Brother 4D Sau Nok Hang, Jayden

Sally and John’s mother was ill yesterday. Mum asked John to take care of

Sally. Mum needed to take a good rest at home. Sally and John were worried about

Mum.

Sally felt hungry. John opened the fridge in the kitchen but Mum didn’t buy any

food from the market in the morning, so there wasn’t any food for lunch. They were

hungry.

They found two packets of noodles in the cupboard but John didn’t know how to

use the cooking stove. Therefore, they couldn’t cook the noodles. They were upset.

John suggested eating out at Jolly Fast Food Shop. John helped Sally to tie her

shoelaces because she couldn’t tie her shoelaces by herself.

Sally wanted to order spaghetti with meat sauce and John wanted to eat macaroni

with cheese and mushrooms. They were excited because it was the first time they ate

out by themselves.

After their lunch, John suddenly remembered that his mum didn’t eat anything in

the morning. He bought a box of ham and cheese sandwiches for her. When they went

home, Mum felt better. She ate the sandwiches joyfully. Mum praised John for being a

packets of noodles. She said, “Can you cook a packet of noodles for me, please?” John

said, “But… but …I do not know how to cook noodles. Do you have any other ideas,

Sally?”

Suddenly, John thought of an idea. He said, “Instead of cooking noodles, let’s go to a

restaurant and eat some food.” Sally said, “This idea is good. Can we go to Jolly Fast

Food Shop?” “Yes!” said John. Before they went to the restaurant, Sally asked John,

“Can you help me to tie my shoelaces? I don’t know how to tie them.” “OK,” said

John.

Then, they went to the restaurant. They ate a lot of food because they were very

hungry. Then, they came back home. Sally told Mum about the things that happened

nothing to eat. The fridge is empty.”

John went to look all around the kitchen and he found two packets of noodles.

John said, “I can’t cook noodles. What about you, Sally?” Sally replied, “I can’t either!

What should we eat, John?” John said, “How about going to Jolly Fast Food Shop to

buy food for Mum and us?” Sally said, “Good idea!”

John said, “We have to go there on foot.” But Sally couldn’t tie her shoelaces so

John helped her. John said, “Let’s go!” Then, they went to Jolly Fast Food Shop .

catch it. After that, Mum looked for the phone number of the bus company on the bus

stop stand. She called the bus company and told them our problem. She asked the staff

of the bus company how we could get our food and drinks back. The staff asked us to

pick up the food from the next bus stop because he told the bus driver to put the things

Mom said to us, “I have a surprise for you two.” We were over the moon. The cashier

said, “You can have a coupon because you spent more than fifty dollars.” “Thanks,”

said Mom. I noticed there was something big in Mom’s bag.

Then we went to a bus stop to wait for a bus. When we got on the bus, we started

to discuss what we would do during our picnic. We finally got off the bus and realized

that our food was not at hand. Then we all screamed out like a wolf howling in the

night and shouted, “Why did we talk on the bus?” I asked Mom what was in the bag.

“It was a turkey,” said Mom. I felt very hungry.

Luckily, our coupon saved our day. We called the hotline. “Hi! May I have

eleven sandwiches and four cans of cola for delivery? I’ll pay with a coupon.” Ten

minutes later, the food finally came.

We ate at last. The food was not tasty but we could still have food. I was ready

to shout, “This is the worst picnic ever!”

When I was little

I talked to my mum about my childhood when I was little.

When I was little, I was fat and short but I was also cute. My hair was short and my

eyes were big. My nose was small. My mouth was small too. Everybody said I was cute

and beautiful.

I used diapers and dummies when I was little. I always sucked my dummy! It looked

like I was drinking my mum’s milk! I had a baby stroller too. My mum put some cushions

and soft toys in it; she made it very comfortable for me. I used milk bottles until I was

four!

My mum said that I was very independent when I was little. I love drawing very much.

I didn’t like my mum to help me when I was drawing. She said I thought that if I didn’t

draw the pictures by myself, it wouldn’t look like my own drawings. One day when I was

drawing, I noticed that I was using the wrong side of the crayon! I laughed because of my

silliness. I think I really enjoyed drawing on my own.

When I was little, I couldn’t do a lot of things by myself. But with the help of my mum, I

could do them successfully. Now I can do them by myself because I am a big girl now!

My parents said that I was heavy so it was tiring for them to carry me when they brought

When I was little, I didn’t play phone games or computer games. I played with dolls.

My mum said I liked playing dolls because I thought they were cute and beautiful. I liked

playing with blocks too. My mum told me that when I played with blocks, it was very

my cousin too! We are very close friends and we always stick together!

When I was little, I loved my dummy very much but then I found myself loving sucking my

fingers more than the dummy! Maybe I found my fingers were yummier than the dummy.

I forgot what toys I used to play with when I was a baby. When I was older, I remember I

loved playing with a toy called the digital camera. I took photos with my older sister.

Sometimes she took photos of me and sometimes I took photos of her. We often looked at

the photos together. It was fun to look at the photos together because we were cute in the

photos and it showed we did silly things and our faces were funny!

I remembered one special experience when I was one year old. As I always sat on the

highchair, but one day I fell down from the highchair. I cried loudly. My mother didn’t

Last Sunday, my younger sister Kelly and I went to a country park. “How far

is it from here to the picnic site?” asked Kelly. I said, “It’s half a kilometre.” We

walked to the picnic site.

At 2 p.m. we ate sandwiches, sausages and some fruit for lunch. The food was

yummy. Then we played badminton and took some photos. We were happy.

After a while, we were ready to go home. Kelly suggested, “Can we take a taxi?

I’m so tired.” I said, “Good idea! It’s comfortable and fast!”

When we arrived at home, the driver said, “$128 please.” I replied, “Oh no!

We just have $100!”

In the end, I called my mum for help. She was unhappy.

Today was a holiday. My sister Kelly and I went to Penguin Country Park. We

In the evening we wanted to leave. I wanted to take a bus because the fare is

travelling by taxi is comfortable, it is expensive.

Finally we chose to take a taxi because she was tired. After that we arrived at

money. Luckily the driver gave us a discount because we were just kids. What a lucky

Then the lady took off her sunglasses. She said, “I’m your mum.” Bonnie was

surprised. “Mum, you’re so beautiful,” said Bonnie.

My summer holiday

Dear Miss Tam,

How are you? I had a great summer holiday with my family. My family and I

went to Japan for five days.

We went to Legoland. I rode on the longest roller coaster and played some

shooting games. I also watched the 3D Lego movie. Then I went to the sushi

restaurant. I ate some noodles and sushi. After lunch, I went to the museum. I saw

some old buildings and the old customs. Then I went to see some cherry blossoms in

the park. I took some photos there and saw the fish in the ponds.

We also went shopping in a big shop. I bought an ice cream, some clothes, a

key holder and some snacks. Then I went to Universal Studios, I played the Linguee

jumping machine.

I think the holiday was great because I could eat some noodles and play in the

theme park. We watched the 3D Lego movies and saw the cherry blossoms in the park.

How was your summer holiday? Please write back soon.

Love,

Helen

enough money. We were worried. However, the taxi driver said “never

mind” and let us get out of the taxi. We were so happy.

A naught boy, Danny

Danny has a bad habit. He likes playing computer games for a long time and he likes playing

tricks on others .We seldom play with him and talk to him.

Yesterday, we all listened to Miss Law but only Danny didn’t listen to her .He was sleeping

because he played computer games all night .He didn’t sleep last night so he slept in the class.

We saw that Miss Law was very angry. She said “Danny, you can’t sleep in the class, wake up

and stand at the back of the classroom!” Danny walked very slowly. The classmates all laughed

at him, he felt embarrassed.

Danny felt that he was not doing wrong so he took out a paper and folded it into a plane. He

wanted to play tricks on his classmates. He threw the paper plane out.

Suddenly, the plane flew to the teacher. It hurt Miss Law’s arm. Danny was frightened.

However, Miss Law didn’t punish him. She told him, “Danny, you should behave well and

shouldn’t play tricks on others.” Danny quickly apologized to Miss Law.

Since then, he always helps others and behaves very well. Everyone likes to play with him,

talk to him and be friends with him. They like Danny very much.

An unforgettable trip

It was Kelly’s birthday last Sunday. It was also an unforgettable day. The weather was nice

and beautiful. To celebrate, I decided to take Kelly to Tai Lam Nature Trail for a picnic. Kelly

was so excited.

First, we prepared some sandwiches, potato chips, fruits and soft drinks. We also brought the

badminton rackets and kites. Then we took the bus to Tai Tong. Kelly just couldn’t wait to

arrive and kept asking, “How long does it take to get there?” After half an hour, we got off at

Tai Tong, and we looked at the information board. Kelly asked, “How far is it from here to the

picnic site?” I said, “It’s not far, it’s only half a kilometre.”

We first ate our lunch because we were so hungry after the long journey. The potato chips

were very yummy. Kelly loved them very much. Then I sang a birthday song for her and gave

her a big hug. She felt happy. We played badminton after the meal. We also flew a kite. Kelly

was so excited because she had never flown a kite before.

It was late already. We needed to go home. We packed up the things and walked to the bus

station. However, Kelly was over-exhausted and suggested taking a taxi to go home. I said

although a taxi is comfortable and fast, it is not cheap. I was afraid that I did not have enough

money. However, it is Kelly’s birthday and I wanted to make her smile.

We finally got home by taxi but the problem came as the taxi fare was more than I had. I felt

very embarrassed. I sincerely told the taxi driver that I didn’t have enough money. I just wanted

to take her home safely because it was her birthday.

The taxi driver smiled at Kelly and said, “Happy birthday, my dear, just pay whatever you

have!” I was surprised that the taxi driver was so kind and generous. Kelly and I were very

grateful. To Kelly, it was a wonderful day. However, to me, it was an unforgettable and

embarrassing day.

26th May Sunny

Last Sunday was my sister Kelly’s birthday. I decided to bring her to Ma On Shan

Country Park to have a picnic. We prepared a lot of things inside my bag. We prepared some

sandwiches, some apple juice, fish balls, potato chips and some chicken wings. My bag was

very full.

When we arrived at the country park, we saw an information board. “How far is it from

here to the picnic site?” asked Kelly. I replied, “It’s not far. It’s half a kilometer.” We started

to walk to the picnic site to have a picnic. When we arrived at the picnic site, we put all our

food on the mat. We ate our food first. We were eating our food while we were talking to

each other. We ate all the food in the bag. We were very full. Then we played badminton.

Sometimes I won, sometimes she won. I was very happy to play badminton.

When we wanted to go home, it was already four o’clock in the afternoon. I suggested

going home by bus because it is cheap. But Kelly was tired, so she wanted to go home by

taxi because it is comfortable. At last, we decided to go home by taxi.

After travelling by taxi, I paid the taxi fare to the driver but I didn’t have enough money.

We were very scared! Luckily, the driver was nice. He let us go home. We said thank you to

him and even gave him some candy! I thought he was the kindest driver I have ever met.

Today was an unforgettable and lucky day.

Last Sunday was my younger sister, Kelly’s birthday. So we went hiking in Tai Mo Shan

for a celebration. We were excited. We saw an information board when we arrived there. We

looked at the map. Kelly asked, “How far is it from here to the picnic site?’’ “It’s half a

kilometer,” I replied.

After that, we arrived at the picnic site. Then we started our lunch. Kelly took her food

from her backpack. We ate some sandwiches and fruit. Also, we drank some delicious

orange and apple juice. We were very full. After a while, we played badminton together

happily.

Next, we felt very tired. I wanted to go home by bus because it is cheaper, but we needed

to walk a long way. However, Kelly didn’t want to walk anymore. She wanted to take a taxi.

Although it is fast, it is expensive.

Then, I called a taxi with my mobile phone. A few minutes later, the taxi came. We fell

asleep in the taxi because we were tired. We woke up when we arrived at our home. The taxi

driver told me that I needed to pay one hundred and twenty-eight dollars, but I only had one

hundred dollars.

Finally, the taxi driver was kind. He charged me one hundred only for the fare. We

thanked him a lot. It was unforgettable. I should bring more money when we go outside next

time.

MT6 An accident

Today was an awful day for the Tang family. They thought it was a good day to go hiking so

they went to Happy Country Park. They went there by car. They parked the car and started to

walk to the barbecue site to have a barbecue. They were walking happily when Mum

accidentally tripped on a rock and fell over. She twisted her ankle! They couldn’t find any long

sticks so Dad acted as her cane.

After they reached the barbecue site, they started to have a barbecue. The naughty children,

Maggie and Ricky, were playing with the sharp forks. They were playing happily. Suddenly

Dad heard a scream. Someone said, “Ouch!” It was the children. They carelessly scratched each

other. They both got a deep cut. They didn’t have any bandages so they could only use water to

rinse it.

After they had their lunch, they went near the pond. Dad was taking photos with his camera

while Joe was jumping on the rock. It was really beautiful. Unfortunately, Joe slipped when he

was jumping. He fell into the pond. He didn’t know how to swim so he shouted, “Help!” Dad

swam towards him as fast as he could to save Joe. Although Dad saved him, Dad got a cold. He

kept sneezing and coughing.

In the end, the Tang family decided to go to the hospital by car. They saw the doctor and the

doctor told them to take a rest for three days. After that, they planned to go home.

They were able to get back into the car but they hit the peak time. The road was filled with

cars and it took them five hours to get home. “What an awful day!” shouted the Tang family.

Bonnie’s Special Day

Yesterday, Bonnie and her mum went shopping in Lucky Shopping Mall. They were very

happy.

Bonnie left her mum and went in Sunshine Clothes Shop. Bonnie wanted to buy a blue T-shirt,

green shorts and pink sandals because she wanted to look cool so she would have more friends.

However, the clothes were very expensive, Bonnie knew that her mum wouldn’t buy the clothes

for her. She was very sad.

Bonnie couldn’t find her mum! She was very scared. She saw a lady with sunglasses and

earrings. The lady was in a hat, dress and high heel shoes. Bonnie asked her, “Have you seen

my mum?” The lady took off her sunglasses. It was Bonnie’s mum! Bonnie was very surprised.

Her mum explained that when she was paying for her clothes, the shopkeeper said that she

was the one hundredth customer so she had a one thousand dollar cash coupon to celebrate

Lucky Shopping Mall’s one hundredth anniversary. Bonnie asked her mum, “Can I buy some

clothes that I like?” Her mum agreed.

At last, Bonnie and her mum went back home happily with their hands filled with shopping

bags.

A naughty boy

There was a naughty boy called Danny. All the students hated him because he always

played tricks on them. Therefore, Danny had no friends in class.

Yesterday, the class teacher, Miss Law was teaching the students English while Danny

fell asleep. Suddenly, someone snored loudly. Miss Law followed the voice and shouted,

“Danny! Wake up!” Danny stood up and said, “Good morning Miss Law!” All the students

laughed.

Miss Law was as angry as a thunderstorm. She punished Danny. He stood at the back of

the classroom. Then she taught the students again.

Later Danny thought of a tricky idea. First, he used some paper. Then he made a paper

plane. Finally, he threw it. All the students and Miss Law saw it. Miss Law thought, I think

Danny felt bored. Therefore, Miss Law had a funny game with the students. The students and

Danny were playing the games when the bell rang. At recess, Miss Law said, “Later, Danny

can teach other students how to make the paper craft and you can use them to decorate our

classroom.”

The classmates became friendly to Danny. Danny also learnt that he should be nice to

others and shouldn’t play tricks on them.

An accident

One day, the Tang family decided to go on a trip in the countryside because they wanted

to get away from the busy city. Maggie, Ricky and Joe packed some sandwiches and soft

drinks. Dad packed the barbecue food like sausages, fish balls and bread. They were looking

forward to the trip. They also brought sunscreen and water because it was a sunny day.

When everything was ready, they set off to the barbecue site. They arrived there at ten

o’clock. However, Mum twisted her ankle when they arrived. The road was narrow with lots

of stones. Then Dad came to help mum sit down on a chair nearby. After five minutes, they

continued to walk to their destination.

They reached the campsite after a while. The children were so happy and set the fire

for barbecuing quickly. Maggie and Ricky were overjoyed. They hurt their arms while they

were playing with the forks! Therefore, Mum helped them to treat the wounds. They felt

grieved.

In the afternoon, Dad saw a pond nearby. The view was fantastic so he took the photos

there. Joe was playing near him too. He accidentally fell into the pond! Poor Joe felt scared

because it was dangerous. Dad saw that so he jumped into the pond to save him immediately.

They returned home at six o’clock. They felt tired and moody because there were too

many accidents. The children also learnt to behave well on trips to prevent getting injured.

was walking on the road when she twisted her ankle carelessly. They told her to take a rest.

After twenty minutes, Mum felt better so they continued to walk to the barbecue site.

They set the fire and cooked some food like sausages, corn, chicken wings and beef

skewers. Maggie and Ricky were playing with some forks when they hurt themselves! Mum

helped them treat the wounds. The children felt sorry and promised they wouldn’t be so

playful next time.

“The view is fantastic!” Dad talked to himself while he was taking some photos of the

flowers and bushes nearby. Suddenly, Joe fell into the pond while he was playing and

running around! He felt scared so he cried, “Help! Mum, Dad, please come quickly and help

Dear Ms Tang,

How are you? I have been to Japan for one week. I went there with my family. We had a

great holiday. However, the weather was very hot.

On the first day, we went to Osaka. We went shopping at Shinsaibashi. I bought a lot of

souvenirs at the gift shop. The next day, we went to the Universal Studios. We played a lot of

mobility games. I felt so excited.

We also went to Kyoto. We tried to wear kimonos and took a lot of photos. The kimono

was very colourful. I felt very hot when I wore it because there were two layers of cloth.

After that, we went to the restaurant that provided pufferfish. It was yummy. My father

told me that the pufferfish was dangerous to eat but there were qualified chefs in

Japan to prepare the food. Therefore, we could eat it in Japan. We also ate a lot of sushi,

sashimi and Japanese noodles in the remaining days of the trip.

This summer holiday, I felt delighted and wonderful to travel with my family. I hope I

will travel there next summer holiday.

Dear Ms Tang,

How are you? My family and I went to Singapore during my summer holiday. We went

there for four days. This trip was unforgettable and I will tell you now.

At 1:00 a.m. on the first day, we arrived at the airport. Yes, it was 1:00 a.m.! I don’t tell

lies. First, we got on the airplane and because it was midnight, I couldn’t open my eyes wide.

The next morning, we arrived in Singapore. I felt better because I had a good time sleeping

on the plane. After we arrived there, we called the taxi to the hotel. The hotel was interesting!

There were two robots in our room! They could come to your room and help you out.

However, we didn’t have any time to explore their functions. We checked in quickly and left

the hotel.

First, we went to the home of Mum’s friend to play computer games. We also had a tasty

lunch and dinner there. We felt great. On the second day, we got on the bus to Malaysia to

Legoland. There was a roller coaster and a Lego shop. I bought a key ring for my friends too!

What have you done on your holiday? Mine was fantastic! Let’s meet in tomorrow’s lesson!

Please write back soon.

Bonnie’s Special Day

It was a beautiful Sunday. Bonnie went window-shopping in a big mall with her mum.

They were excited and joyful because it was a multi-story department store with many

different kinds of things for shopping.

Bonnie went to the kids shopping area to see some clothes. She thought that if she wore

the T-shirt, shorts and colourful sandals shown on the display, she would be beautiful and

sporty. Then she decided to ask her mum to buy the whole set of clothes for her.

Bonnie turned around to talk to her mum but she only saw a noble lady. She thought,

‘Who is the lady with the dazzling jewellery, gold dress and nice hat?” Suddenly, the lady

asked Bonnie, “Do you think the pretty dress with accessories is very beautiful?” Bonnie

only had one question on her mind, “Oh, why is Mum suddenly wealthy?”

Finally, Bonnie heard someone say, “Wake up, Bonnie!” After Bonnie woke up, her mum

brought her to the wonderful shopping mall that was in her dream. Her dream came true!

Dear Ms Tang,

How are you? I travelled to Thailand for one week in my summer holiday. I went there

with my parents. The weather was mostly sunny and rainy. I was very happy to go there.

While walking along the street, I saw White Temple far away. That was so gorgeous. We

went to the temple and found it full of Buddhist significant features. You can only enter the

ubosot from the front, via the narrow bridge that passes over a pool of upturned waves. We

went to the ubosot to worship the Buddha. Then we bought souvenirs from the gift shop.

In the evening, we went to Terminal 21 to do some shopping and had dinner. There were a

lot of people. We went to the book shop, the clothing store, the top store and many more. It

was fun to go shopping!

I was thrilled about this journey. There was a lot of laughter in it. I hope I will go to the zoo

when I travel there next time. How about your holidays?

I will see you soon.

Yours sincerely,

Today was Kelly’s birthday. Both of us wanted to go hiking and do some exercises, so we

decided to go to Ma On Shan Country Park. We anticipated that it would be a wonderful trip.

The weather was very good. We woke up early and had a delicious breakfast at home. It

was a long way from our home to the country park. We took a bus to Ma On Shan and it took

an hour to arrive there. We looked at the information board for the route to the picnic site.

We wanted to go to the picnic site because it was far from home. “How far is it from

here to the picnic site?” asked Kelly. “It’s not far. It’s half a kilometer,” I said. When we

arrived there, it was already half past one. We were very hungry, so we took out the

sandwiches Mum made for us. The view there was so beautiful and we could see the sea. We

brought our badminton rackets there to play some sports.

We played badminton until sunset. Then we knew it was time to go. I suggested taking

the bus because it was cheap. However, my sister was tired. She wanted to travel by taxi

because it was more comfortable.

When the taxi arrived home, the driver asked us to pay one hundred and twenty-eight

dollars. However, I was terrified because I only had one hundred dollars in my wallet!

Luckily Kelly had thirty dollars. In the end we had enough money to pay for the fare. What

an unforgettable day!

My summer holiday Dear Miss Chow,

How are you? How was your summer holiday? I had a great summer holiday.

During the summer holiday, I went to Hong Kong Disneyland with my family and friends. I visited the Iron Man Tower. This was one of the

newest rides in Disneyland. It was cool and amazing. Besides, I also went to Ocean Park. We went to the aquarium. We saw

a lot of fish and sea creatures. Then we visited the Panda Village. The caretakers were feeding a panda patiently. The panda smiled friendly at

us. Afterwards, we visited the South Pole Spectacular to see the penguins. They swam quickly.

At last, we stayed at the new hotel for a night. I liked the themed guest rooms very much. The decorations were awesome. In all, my summer

holiday was unforgettable and wonderful. I hope the next summer holiday will come soon. I look forward to hearing from you!

Yesterday I asked Amy about the places she has visited. She has been to Disneyland, Ocean Park and the Peak.

Amy has been to Ocean Park three times. She went there in 2017, at Chinese New Year of 2019 and in the last summer holiday. She visited the

pandas, went to the aquarium and rode on the cable car. She liked Ocean Park very much. It was amazing.

Amy has been to Disneyland once too. She went there last Christmas. She watched the parade and the 3D movie. She also had a buffet dinner.

She enjoyed the buffet the most. She said the dinner made her mouth-water.

Amy has also been to the Peak. She went there twice. She went there in 2016 and 2018. She looked at the view of Hong Kong, went to the Wax

Museum and rode on the Peak tram. She liked to ride on the tram very much! It was exciting.

In all, she wanted to go to the Lady Market. She said she will go there during the next Easter holiday.

Haley Poon A naughty boy

Miss Law was an English teacher. Everyone loved her lessons except Danny. He was a naughty boy. Last Monday, Danny was sleeping while all

the other students were listening to Miss Law. Danny slept on his desk because he played computer games all night.

He went to bed very late so he slept in Miss Law’s lesson. Danny was sleeping when Miss Law walked to his desk. Miss Law was very angry

because Danny did not listen to her. She asked him to stand at the back of the classroom. At first Danny listened in the class, then he was bored.

Next he threw a paper pane to Tom’s desk. Tom picked it up and gave it to Miss Law. Miss Law was extremely mad because Danny disturbed the

classmates. Therefore she punished Danny. She asked him to write the verb table ten times.

Finally Danny felt sorry and he promised Miss Law not to sleep in the

lessons again.

Zachary Ng A lesson for Danny

Danny was my classmate. He always played tricks on us. No one liked him. Miss Law was teaching while Danny was daydreaming. The whole

classroom was very quiet. Suddenly there were some snores. Danny fell asleep soundly and the

snores were from him. He was caught by Miss Law. Miss Law was very cross and yelled his name angrily, “Danny!” Then Danny woke up and he

was very frightened. Miss Law asked him to stand at the back of the classroom until the end of the lesson. At first Danny felt sorry and stood

quietly. Later he found some paper and started to fold paper planes. He even threw them to the other boys. We felt very annoyed and reported

it to Miss Law. At the end of the lesson, Danny was asked to go out with Miss Law. He

finally got a warning letter from the headmaster. What a big lesson for

Danny!

the family started to barbecue, Maggie and Ricky were naughty. They played with the forks. Finally, they hurt each other. They both felt pain

and upset. After that, Dad wanted to take photos with Joe but Joe was playing

near the river. Unfortunately Joe stepped on the stone and fell into the

river. “Help! Help!” shouted Joe. Dad saved Joe immediately and the others suggested bringing him to the hospital. Luckily Joe was fine at

last. It was a bad day for the Tangs.

Dreaming to be a Basketball Player

6A Helen Li

Last week, Donna went to the basketball court. She was watching a basketball match. It

was a very exciting competition! She thought, I want to be a basketball player when I grow

up. If I become a basketball player, I’ll win the basketball match.

Donna could not join the basketball team because the PE teacher said to her, “Sorry, you

can’t join the basketball team because you’re not tall enough.” She felt disappointed.

Suddenly, she heard someone say, “Hello!” Donna turned around. She saw a senior

student. The senior student said, “If you want to be taller, you need to eat more fruit and do

more sports so that you can stay fit and strong.” Donna felt happy and said, “Thank you!”

Donna did a lot of exercise every day. Then she became very tall and strong. She joined

the basketball team. At last, her team won a medal too.

The Selfish Benny

6A April Li Benny is a selfish person. He likes playing with toy cars and robots. He usually spends

the money on buying different types of toys. He feels happy when he plays with the toys.

For Chinese New Year, Benny got a lot of red packets from his mum, dad, uncles and

aunties. He wanted to spend his money to buy some toys. Suddenly, his dad went into his

room. Dad sat down and said, “If I were you, I would donate some money to the charity.

How about you, Benny?” Benny said, “I will donate some money to an old woman. If I

donate some money to an old woman, I’ll be happy.”

However, when Dad came into Benny’s bedroom, he found that Benny had a lot of red

packets on his bed. Dad went out of the bedroom and suddenly he came back. Benny was

gasped and nervous that his dad would scold him. Dad said, “I never thought you would lie!”

Benny felt ashamed.

Benny admitted that he was wrong and he said, “Sorry Dad! I will donate more to the

charity!” Later, he donated more money to the charity and the charity people thanked him. In

the end, he learnt if he donated a lot of money to the charity, he would feel happier than

buying toys.

Danny learnt a lesson

Danny was a naughty boy. One day, when Danny was playing football, he broke

a vase so his mother wanted to punish him and said, “I will not give you the pocket

money this week,” so Danny was scared and he ran away.

He ran to the forest to escape from his mum. In the afternoon, he felt hungry so he

looked for some food to eat. He saw an old house that was near so he went to the

house and he found a lot of food. Then he ate the food happily.

When Danny was eating the apple, he turned into a pig! He felt scared. He saw an

angel. The angel said, “If you tell the truth and say sorry to your mum, you will turn

back into a human again. Otherwise, you will not become a human until you tell the

truth.”

In the end, Danny went home. He told his mum the truth and said sorry to his mum.

Suddenly, he turned back into a human again. After that, Danny learnt to be a good

boy and not to tell lies to people anymore.

The Princess and the Witch

6A Kinki Tang

Once upon a time, there was a castle in which a princess was beautiful and

kind. Therefore, she was very popular with the children there.

It was another ordinary day but the princess disappeared! People across the

continent were in a panic. After an investigation by the royal family, it was

discovered that the princess was kidnapped by the witch who lived in the trial

castle, so the royals decided to send an escort to rescue the princess. “Why did

you bring me here?” the princess shouted, “Uh!” The witch chuckled and she

lifted the princess’ chin slightly. “Your beauty looks like what I have been

longing for. Why don’t you change it with me?” the witch asked. The princess

looked at the witch with these words in horror.

The witch picked up two pills quietly and opened the princess’ mouth. “Eat it!

We can exchange souls.” The witch said with an ugly smile. “Never!” the

princess closed her mouth tightly. The witch was furious and said, “Eat it now!”

The witch used magic to teleport the princess to the Judgement Corridor.

“Here?!” the princess looked around. “Welcome! This is your first time and the

last time!” The witch laughed wildly.

Suddenly, the prince came and rescued the princess. The prince fought with

the witch for a long time. Finally, the prince won and saved the princess. The

prince and the princess lived happily together.

An unforgettable picnic

Last Sunday, our school had a picnic in Tai Mo Shan Country Park. I

packed my school bag and went to school in the morning. Then we got on the

school bus and arrived at the country park. We started to have a barbecue first.

After a while Carson needed to go to the toilet.

When we were having the barbecue, suddenly we heard a scream from the

toilet. Then we rushed to the toilet at once. John said surprisingly, “Oh no!” We

saw a snake bite him and Carson fell down on the floor. Peter said, “Oh! Your

leg is hurt! We need to tell the teacher.” John asked softly, “How about the

snake?’ Peter continued, “Let’s take it away.” They tried to take it away and

went to find the teachers.

Finally, Mr Chan took Carson to the hospital. Carson said, thank you to us

and we felt very joyful. Carson’s leg recovered after a few days and he was also

better than before.

Alex entered the recorder competition at the Music Festival in March. He

practised playing the recorder for two hours every day.

The night before the competition, he began to feel worried. Will I forget the

song? Will my classmates laugh at me? Will I forget to bring the recorder?

thought Alex. He had an awful night. He could not sleep well. He worried about

it.

The next day, Alex was tired and nervous but he played well. He won the

competition. His classmate said, “Well done, Alex!” “How many hours do you

practise playing the recorder?” asked Mr. Chan. Alex answered, “I practise

playing the recorder for two hours every day.” Alex felt happy. He was proud of

himself.

At the end, Alex went home and told his parents, “I won the competition.” He

jumped and laughed.

Dreaming to be a Basketball Player Anson Ho (何俊熹) 6B (14)

One day, Donna watched a basketball match with her classmates because their school invited them to watch this basketball match. When Donna saw the basketball players, she was excited. She thought they were cool.

Since then, she decided to be a basketball player in the future.

The next day, she asked her PE teacher to let her join the school basketball team because she knew that if she became a basketball player, she needed to learn more skills of playing basketball. However, her PE teacher

said, “Sorry, Donna, your height is not suitable to join the basketball team. If you want to join the team, you must

be taller than this line.” As he pointed to the red line on the wall, Donna was very sad. Her sister nearby heard everything and walked forward to Donna. She told her that she also needed to be stronger so that she could be a

basketball player.

Then, Donna started to do sports every day. She went jogging and running in the park. She also practiced her skills on the basketball court and drank milk every morning. The following month, she was asked to join the

basketball team again. Unfortunately, although Donna was taller than before, she still could not reach the red line

and the training was tough. At last, she gave up.

Dreaming to be a Basketball Player Bernice Wong (黃曉晴) 6B (35)

In my childhood, there was a girl called Donna. She was a sporty girl and loved ball games. One day, she and her friends went to watch a basketball competition from the Hong Kong Basketball Association. She saw

all the players putting in ultra effort and striving to win the match. It made her fond of basketball and dream of being a basketball player.

In the beginning of the summer holiday, she enrolled for the basketball team. However, the coach told her that she was not able to join the team because of her height. She had to grow up to 130 cm but she was only 126

cm tall at that moment. Donna was very upset and wanted to cry. After a while, Donna came home to ask her teammate about how to grow taller. “Donna, if you have a balanced diet and moderate exercise every day, you

will get taller quickly.” I encouraged her.

The day after, Donna started to have a healthy life. She drank milk twice a day, ran seven hours a

week and often practiced her basketball skills. After three months, Donna was 131 cm tall and she could finally

join the basketball team. She was proud of herself and her goal was to be an international basketball player.

Dreaming to be a Basketball Player Audrina Tang (鄧青藍) 6B (31)

One day, my classmate Donna watched a wonderful basketball match. She enjoyed it with her friends

– Elise and Cherry. It was a 6A vs 6B intermission basketball tournament. It was thrilling so Donna was fond of it very much. The final result was that class 6B won! Donna thought, “If I become a basketball player when I

grow up, I will be really cool.” She decided to join the school basketball team right away.

In PE class, Donna told her PE teacher – Mr. Wong that she wanted to join the basketball team. At

recess, the basketball team coach measured Donna’s height. However, she was not tall enough to join. To get into the school team, students needed to be at least 140 centimetres but Donna was just 130 centimetres. After learning

this, Donna was disappointed. She cried seriously all night. On the next day, a primary six girl in the basketball

team told Donna, “You need to be tall so that you can block her opponents from scoring. You need to be fit so

that you can run faster than others. You need to be strong so that you can jump high and shoot.” Donna thanked her a lot. She was so glad that the girl taught her how to be a terrific basketball athlete.

After that, Donna concluded her daily plan. She practiced running for two hours and did basketball training for two hours. Furthermore, Donna drank three cups of milk every day. Unquestionably, she grew to 141

centimetres tall! She finally made it! I felt joyful for her too. She rushed to Mr. Wong and said, “I’m 141 cm tall now! I can join the basketball team!” Mr. Wong replied, “Sorry, Donna. Unfortunately, there are no people

entering the basketball team this year. It has been cancelled already.” Donna was heartbroken. She could not believe what she had just heard. At that moment, Mr. Wong said, “you can go down to the covered playground to

ask for the basketball coach to train you only.” When Donna arrived there, she found out that a surprise party

was being held. She spotted a banner saying, ‘Donna, you did a marvelous job!’ Now, she reveals that this party is to appreciate her effort in practicing basketball all the way!

The Selfish Benny Chantal Chan (陳意) 6B (5)

One day, Benny was counting his money in his bedroom. It was because he wanted to buy a new robot. At

that moment, his friend Mark wanted to play and chat with Benny. Then Benny put his purse back into his bag

and waited for Mark. Mark arrived soon and they talked about how to spend the money. Mark suggested he give the money to a beggar. Benny said he would donate the money to charity instead.

Suddenly, Benny’s mind came up with an idea. He said, “Mark, would you also want to give some money to

a charity organisation? I’m going to donate the money to charity. Would you like to support me?” “Yes, of course!”

said Mark. He gave a hundred dollars to Benny. On the next day, Benny counted his money again. He ran to the toy shop and bought the new robot. In fact, he told a lie. He spent the money given by Mark to buy the robot and

he didn’t donate any money to charity. Right at the cashier in the toy shop, Mark appeared to see Benny and asked him, “Wow! How can you afford to buy this new robot?” Benny looked embarrassed and confused. He

finally told Mark the truth nervously, “I …… I spent the money given by you buying this robot.” Mark was extremely angry and threatened him, “If you are not willing to give your robot to me, I’m going to fight with you

and tell your parents that you have told a lie.”

At last, Benny gave his new robot to Mark and apologised to Mark. This story tells us that we need to be an

honest person and we should never cheat others using lies.

The Selfish Benny Esther Chan (陳以霖) 6B (3)

As everybody knew, Benny was a selfish boy. Nevertheless, something happened one day that stopped him from being a selfish guy.

After the Chinese New Year holidays, Benny got a lot of red packets. He wanted to spend the money

buying a number of toys; such as robots and toy cars. Dad came home and saw Benny thinking about how to

spend the money wisely, so Dad taught him to do his financial management. “If I were you, I would save a part of

the money and donate the rest of it to charity.” said dad. Benny nodded his head to express his approval. “I’ve

decided to donate my money to the poor,” replied Benny. Dad was so happy that he has a sensible kid. The following day, Benny walked past a toy stall and saw the fantastic robot. He quickly went home and carefully

took some money from the red packets. “I never thought you would lie to me, Benny!” said Dad disappointedly. Benny did not have enough time to hide the money. He could just say sorry to Dad but he did not think he was

wrong. He ran out of the house and wandered on the street. He then saw a poor child who was a similar age. He

was such a skinny child that he looked like a skeleton. Benny was sad to see him.

Recently, Benny has become determined to help others. He takes his valuable time to go on a charity walk every year.

The Selfish Benny Moji Chu (朱善蕎) 6B (10)

It was Chinese New Year one month ago. After Benny and his family visited Mr. Alex, he got lots of red packets. He put them on the desk of his bedroom. He felt over the moon because he thought he could use

them to buy the latest version models. Then, his dad knocked on the door and went into Benny’s bedroom to tell

him about how to spend that money. His dad said, “If I were you, I would donate the money to charity because I like helping people. How will you spend the money? “Benny smiled and replied, “Let me think ….. I’ll tell you

tomorrow!” He slept after talking with his dad. On the next day, Benny told his dad he wanted to donate all the money to the beggar who slept in the street. His dad was extremely glad that his son was full of compassion.

However, Benny was so selfish that he didn’t want to donate his money to poor people. Instead he deceived his dad with a silly lie.

Two weeks later, he went to the nearest shopping mall to buy some models which he loved to death. He went there while his dad was working in his office so that his dad would not discover his naughty conduct

easily. After that, he went back home with his favourite model. He ran into his room and slammed the door because he needed to bury those models. At night, his dad banged on the door of Benny’s bedroom angrily and he

shouted, “I never imagined you would lie to me! I’m really disappointed with you!” and he ran out of the room.

Benny looked at the wall open-mouthed because everything happened too suddenly. He walked away from his

bedroom and went into his parents’ room. He apologised to his dad sincerely.

At last, Benny’s dad forgave him but he must donate those models to the orphanage’s home and sell

flags with him on the coming Saturday. This story tells us that we should be a generous, honest and

compassionate person. Also we should not tell lies. I am willing to participate in more charity activities in the

nearest future.

performance on the stage and thought of losing the competition. Alex was

losing his confidence and began to tremble. He couldn’t even sleep!

The next day at the competition, he was the first competitor. He had gone

An Unforgettable Picnic

Last week, my classmates and I went on a school trip. We went to a country

park to have a barbecue. It was such an unforgettable experience.

It was sunny and the breeze was cool that day. At ten o’clock in the

morning, we set off for the park. Travelling with classmates was such a

wonderful experience!

About an hour later, we arrived at the park. We unpacked our belongings

and started to have a barbecue.

While we were eating, my classmate Ben wanted to go to the restroom. He

took a pack of ketchup for some reason. I was curious about it. Suddenly, we

heard a loud scream coming from the restroom. We rushed inside and saw Ben

lying on the floor with blood on his knee. Beside him, we saw a green python

slithering away! We rushed out of the restroom and called the teachers for help.

All the teachers and students rushed into the restroom. When we arrived at the

restroom, Ben laughed and said, “It is just a prank! Today is April Fool’s Day,

remember?” But at this moment, a girl from the next class fainted. She suffered

from blood phobia and thought that was real!

At last, the girl woke up but Ben was scolded by the teachers for doing such

An Unforgettable Picnic

Last Friday was a warm and humid day and it was also my school picnic

day! It wasn’t an ordinary school trip. It was my last elementary school trip

because I would become a secondary school student very soon. I was very

excited because we would have a barbecue together.

When we arrived at the country park, we found the seats quickly to have our

barbecue. Before we started, our class teacher, Miss Chan told us that we

couldn’t leave by ourselves. We needed to ask her first and left with others.

Then we took out our food and started to have the barbecue. At that moment,

my friend, actually he wasn’t my friend. Everyone hated him because he was a

nosey parker. He wanted to go to the toilet and he asked me to go with him. I

shouted, ‘No way! Oh, are you scared?’ I laughed at him. Then, he asked the

others. However, no one wanted to go with him so he went to the toilet himself.

All of a sudden, we heard a scream came from the toilet. We looked at one

another. I thought, ‘What happened with Tom? Will Miss Chan punish us

because we do not look after him?’ Then, we put down our food and ran to the

toilet as fast as we could.

When we opened the door, we saw Tom sitting on the floor and he looked

painful. Suddenly, my friend Billy screamed loudly, ‘Ah!’ He pointed to the left

of the room. I turned my head to the left. Then I saw a snake out of the corner

of my eye. Then, I found out that Tom was hurt. The snake with black skin but

his leg. Tom’s eyes turned red and moistened. His tears welled up his eyes.

Then, big, silent tears were rolling down his red cheeks. His face was wet with

tears. My heart skipped a beat. I was scared out of my wits. I just stood rooted

to the spot. I was scared of snakes. I was worried about Tom. I was ashamed of

myself. I …, etc.

Just then, my friend, Billy ran quickly to find the teachers for help. Within

minutes, the teachers arrived. The teachers had a quick check with him. Before

long, Billy was sent to hospital to have a check. Also, they caught the snake.

Miss Chan told us that luckily we discovered him early. Therefore, he didn’t

have a serious problem. Fresh air filled our lungs and we felt refreshed and

exhilarated. We all giggled, except the teachers. Miss Chan’s eyes stared at us,

forming an intense gaze. We stopped laughing. There was a fire after her and

suddenly we felt very, very hot. Bad things happened next.

The next day, Billy called us with his mobile phone and thanked us. We said

sorry to him that we treated him badly before. After that day, we became

friends. We were all happy about this. This was our exclusive experience.

In this unforgettable experience, I have learnt that we should listen to

teachers’ advice. Also, when we are having a school trip, don’t leave without

permission so that we can help each other to reduce the risk of accidents.

Kenny knew that Benny was counting his red pockets. Therefore, he gave

some advice to him on how to use the money. “Are you counting your red

pockets? If I were you, I would donate $100 to a charity because it can help the

poor people.” Benny thought for a while and lied to Kenny. “I’ve already

donated half of my red pockets to a beggar on the street. The beggar was so

happy that I gave her a lot of money.” Kenny was very pleased because his little

brother finally knew that helping people was a good thing.

A week later, Kenny was very sad so he went to Benny’s bedroom and

wanted to have a talk with him. At the same time, Benny was stacking his

money. When Kenny opened the door, he was shocked. Benny had a pile of red

pocket money! Kenny was very upset. He said, “I never thought you would lie

to me!” Benny felt sorry. He told Kenny the truth. After that he donated $100 to

a charity. Kenny forgave Benny. They both never lied to each other again.

In this story, I’ve learnt that I shouldn’t lie to my family or friends

because it will hurt their feelings.

The Selfish Benny

After Chinese New Year, many people gave a lot of red pockets to Benny.

Benny was a selfish boy. He didn’t want to give the money to a charity but he

wanted to buy a robot or a toy car. He had a heart of stone.

One day, Benny and his dad walked through a charity show. His dad said he

gave some money to the M.S.F. He had a heart of gold.

The next day, Benny lied to his dad. He said he gave all the money to the

beggars. His dad thought his son was good and nice so he bought a toy robot for

his son. That robot was the same one Benny wanted to buy. Benny was

surprised.

Another day later, Dad wanted to find Benny in his bedroom but he found

out that Benny was counting his red pockets and he was thinking how to spend

them! Dad was disappointed and his eyes popped out of his head. Benny

jumped out of his skin and he was upset.

It broke Dad’s heart but Benny turned over a new leaf because he had learnt

to be honest and help people so his dad forgave Benny. Benny became a good

boy and has helped many poor people since then.

In this story, I have learnt that I should be honest and help people in need.

Dreaming to be a Basketball Player

Last Sunday, it was a sunny day. Donna went to watch a basketball

competition with her father. She felt very excited because this was her first time

watching a basketball competition! She thought the basketball players were so

handsome. She wanted to be a basketball player!

After a few days, Donna thought if she joined the school basketball team,

she would become a basketball player in the future! She went to participate in

the school basketball team but she couldn’t join it because she was not tall

enough. She felt disappointed.

An older schoolmate saw that and went to encourage her. She said, “If you

want to be a basketball player, you need to be fit, tall and strong. You need to

do more sports and drink more milk so that you can be strong, fit and tall.”

When Donna heard that, she felt much better. She decided to make herself

taller.

Every day, Donna went to the park to run. She drank milk also. She hoped

she could be taller. Finally because of her hard-work, she became taller and she

joined the school basketball team.

From this story, I have learnt that I need to be hard-working so that when I

do things, I can finish them faster and the things will be perfect.

Dreaming to be a Basketball Player

One week ago, a girl called Donna went to a stadium to watch a basketball

competition. She thought the basketball players were cool. If she became a

basketball player, she would win the awards for Hong Kong and she would be

famous.

On the next day, Donna wanted to join the school basketball team. The

coach told Donna, “You are too short. You are not tall enough. You can’t join

the team.” Donna felt sad. At that time, a member of the basketball team Sally

told Donna, “When I was short, I was not tall enough to join the basketball

team either but now I’m tall enough because I drink milk and do exercise every

day.”

After Sally told Donna about that, Donna thought she could also be taller.

Therefore every morning, she woke up early and did exercise; such as running

and practicing the basketball skills...etc. Also, she always drank milk as she

wanted to be taller.

One month later, she became taller. She was tall enough so the coach let her

join the basketball team. She was happy.

In this story, I have learnt that ‘Where there is a will, there is a way’.

An unforgettable experience Joe Lam

Life is full of ups and downs. It surprises you from time to time. It is

essential to stay positive and exercise strong will to overcome obstacles.

I had a memorable experience. When I was in Primary Three, I broke my

left arm in an accident. Before that, I was fond of swimming. Whenever I was

swimming, I felt relaxed and delighted. However, after the accident, I wanted to

give up swimming because I couldn’t fully recover from the accident and it was

difficult for me to stretch my left arm.

I was lucky that I had a caring family and some good friends. They

comforted and encouraged me. They supported me in all aspects. They reminded

me not to give up. After that, I practiced even harder than before. Recently I got a

prize in the Kowloon West Primary Inter-School Swimming Competition. This is

my first prize in an open match. I really need to be thankful to my family and

friends. I am always doing my best and I won’t give up.

Dreaming to be a basketball player William Chen

One day, Donna was on the sports field watching the basketball match. She

saw that all of the basketball players were tall and strong. She thought, “They are

so strong. I want to be a basketball player when I grow up. If I become a

basketball player, I will play the basketball match. If I play the basketball match, I

will be famous.”

The next day, Donna went to her school’s basketball team and said,

“Basketball coach, can I join your basketball team?” The coach said, “You can’t

join our basketball team because you are too short.”

When she was upset, one of the basketball team members said, “You need

to be tall and strong so that you can join us. If you want to be tall and strong, you

need to do more sports and drink more milk.”

After that, she did more sports and drank more milk every day. She became

taller and taller.

At the end, she was tall and strong. She could join the basketball team at

school. She thanked the girl who helped her to join the basketball team. They

played basketball together and became best friends.

The selfish Benny by Casy Lam

One day, Benny opened the red packet money in his bedroom.

He wanted to buy a robot and a remote control car because he

liked toys.

Then Benny’s dad went to Benny’s bedroom. His dad said, “If I

were you, I would donate money to a charity.”

On the next day, Benny told his dad, “I gave the money to a

beggar.” His dad said, “Good boy! I will take you to Disneyland.”

Benny said, “Yeah!”

Next, Benny went to his bedroom and hid the red packet

money. Unexpectedly, his dad came into his bedroom. His dad saw

the red packets on the bed and said, “I never thought you would tell

lies! You cannot go to Disneyland.” Benny said sorry to his dad.

Finally Benny’s dad took Benny to give the money to charity.

Benny felt happy. Benny’s dad gave Benny a robot and a remote

control car because he could keep his promise in the end. This was a

good lesson for Benny and he would never tell lies again.

The Princess and the witch by Venice Chan

Once upon a time, a kingdom had a very beautiful princess. She had a kind

heart too so everyone liked her.

But one day, a witch was jealous of her beautiful face so she caught her and

locked her into the cage, in the witches’ castle. The princess was very scared and

worried that she couldn’t get out.

The witch came out and said, “If you let me change your face with mine, I

will let you go out of the castle.” The witch gave the medicine which could change

faces with the princess but she didn’t want to take it. The witch was very angry.

She kept her locked in the cage. The princess cried and said, “Please let me out!

Please!”

Luckily, a prince from another kingdom came. He fought with the witch.

Finally, the prince won. The witch lost and disappeared. The prince saved the

princess. After a long time, they got married. The kingdom was a happy one.

An unforgettable picnic by Grace Chan

My class went on a school picnic last week. There were many flowers and

trees in the country park. We barbecued and we enjoyed the beautiful scenery.

Tom walked into the toilet to wash his hands.

Suddenly, we heard Tom’s call from the toilet. We felt very shocked and

surprised. We went into the toilet immediately to see what happened.

We saw a snake slithering away in a panic. Tom’s foot was bitten by a snake

and it hurt him. He was sitting on the ground in pain. We were very scared.

We asked for help from the teacher and the park administrator. Tom was

treated in the hospital. Fortunately, the snake was not poisonous. Tom had good

treatment from the doctor. We were all relieved eventually.

The Music Festival by Sophie Tang

One day, Alex saw a poster about the Music Festival. He wanted to join it

because he was good at playing the recorder. So he asked her, “Can I join the

Music Festival, please?” His mum said, “OK, I agree but you need to get good

results in this festival.” Alex said, “Sure!” So he kept practicing the recorder every

day for two hours. He was quite excited about the competition too.

Time ran so fast. A few days later, the night before the competition, Alex

couldn’t sleep. He was worried. He even thought, Will the audience laugh at me?

Will I play well in the competition? He kept thinking of some negative

consequences for the whole night.

The next morning, he arrived at the competition venue. When the worker

there said, “Alex, it’s your to go to the stage”. When he walked onto the stage, he

couldn’t help shaking because he felt scared. When he started to play the

recorder, a time machine appeared and the time stopped. All the people couldn’t

move except Alex. Alex was scared. A boy came out from the time machine and

said, “Hi, Grandfather.” Alex was confused and said, “Who are you?” The boy said,

“My name is Sam. I come from the future but never mind this point. You need to

play well in the Festival. Otherwise, you will see the end of the world.” Alex said,

“What?!” Sam said, “You will know in the future. Now please eat this medicine. It

can help you to calm down.” Alex took it and ate it. When Sam gave the medicine

to Alex, Sam and the time machine disappeared. The time was moving again and

the teacher said, “Start!” So Alex started to play. The medicine was working. Alex

wasn’t shivering anymore. Also, he played very well too. At last, he even got the

first prize. Alex was so happy. He thought, “What a strange day!”
