REPAIR PROCESS:
One 15,000 gallon, two compartment, double walled UST (11k/4k). Steel Inner shell and FRP outer shell. Permeations(s) reported from the primary containment 11k section.
CLOSING:
The tank(s) was purged and vented. LEL was monitored. When LEL reached entrancelevels, the AS crew cut & entered the tank(s), using OSHA approved Confined Space Protocols.
OVERSIGHT:
The tank(s) was de-sludged and abrasively blasted. All sludge and spent blast media was removedto DOT approved 55 gallon drums (Drums were left onsite for disposal by client).
Inspection of the tank's interior was performed in accordance with API 1631 and NLPA 631 protocols.Heavy pitting was present at the bottom of the 11k tank in an area of approximately two square feet. One large permeation (approximately 1/4 inch diameter) were near the striker plate. Light tomoderate Pitting was present near bulkhead striker plate.
Welded patches were used to seal the permeation and then both the patch and tank pitting were covered using fiberglass/resin composite (11k).The tank(s) was then spray-coated with a product compatible, immersion resistant material:ArmorShield TL-300M, applied in accordance with NLPA 631 standard.

The tank coating(s) was allowed to cure, and inspected for workmanship and material integrity. The tank was then sealed. The tank was then recommissioned and returned to control of the client's location personnel.
