VCI isn’t a thick or messy barrier… this is nanotechnology. The easiest way to understand nanotechnology is ARMOR VCI is 4-6 Nanometer and a single sheet of paper is 100,000 NM.

Outdoor Storage How is it different from indoor Storage?


Just like a sunburn on your skin, UV rays can be extremely damaging to packaging designed for indoor use.

Not only will the UV rays deteriorate the poly and make it

ine�ective at protecting your product, but pieces of �lm that

break o� might be introduced into the environment, and even

“biodegradable” �lm break down into micro and nanoplastics, which

can have long-term negative a�ects on the surrounding environment.

Outdoor Storage Sunlight

Depending on your location and the season, the outside temperature and humidity can �uctuate drastically on a daily basis. When a part is wrapped indoors on a humid or hot day, moisture in the

air trapped inside the poly will condense on the surface of the metal as temperatures drop at night. That condensation will quickly promote rust, even if a regular VCI bag is used.

Outdoor Storage Rain, snow or windRust only needs water, oxygen, and a metal surface. While VCI will coat

the metal and prevent rust, too much moisture will prevent VCI

from working e�ectively. A regular indoor VCI bag is not meant to

withstand rainwater collecting on the surface. Moisture will slowly

enter thin �lm, especially as sunlight breaks down the �lm,

promoting rust extremely quickly.
