ARTISTIC DIRECTOR'S NOTESHello, and welcome to the Theatre; Just Because Youth Player’s Production ofAlmost, Maine. Firstly I want to extend an enormous thanks to you for joiningus today, and supporting our local arts scene. The young artists you areabout to see are some of the most wonderful, talented, and passionatepeople I have ever had the pleasure of working with. The play you are aboutto see is a work driven and created by the very people you will see on stage. From the lighting, to the direction, to the performance, these artists played arole in every aspect of it. Give them a huge show of appreciation when yousee them! That is no easy feat.

Almost, Maine is, at its heart, a play about connection. From the good, thedifficult, the awkward, and the magical. These past few years have proven tome that despite everything that has happened in the world, humans will findways to connect. It is through one another that we find meaning in thisunpredictable, and sometimes difficult world. Almost, Maine shows us thatour relationships with others is where we can find magic in our mundaneworld, and these artists have encapsulated that beautifully. I have beengifted with the privilege of watching these young artists develop theseconnections and relationships to each other, both on and off the stage, andhave seen the kindness, dedication, and commitment that they are capableof.

To be completely honest, I could fill pages and pages with all of thewonderful things I could say about these artists, but the show truly speaksfor itself. Almost, Maine is bursting at the seams with heart, humour, vulnerability, and honesty. I hope you enjoy your time with us in Almost. Weare so overjoyed to welcome you in.
