Date: O4-O1-2O22 Time: 11.30 a.m. - 01.30 p.m.

Advisory Committee Meeting of DBT-Star College Scheme of J. M. Patel Arts,Commerce and Science College, Bhandara, Maharashtra was held on 04th January,2022at 11.30 a.m. uiaonline mode through Google Meet Video Conference. Chairman, DBTRepresentative, External Experts in domain field, Coordinator, DepartmentalCoordinator, HOD's and A11 the faculty members of participating Chemistry, Botany and7-oologr Departments were present virtually in the meeting.

The meeting started with the Welcome and introduction of themembers of the Advisory Committee by Dr. S. w. Dafare, Coordinator, DBT-Star College Scheme & Head, Department of Chemistry, Dr. Vikas P.Dhomne, Principal & chairman of Advisory Committee welcomed thegathering and presided over the meeting. Consolidated report of theactivities of the participant Chemistry, Botany and Zoologt Departmentswere presented by Dr. S. w. Dafare, Coordinator, DBT-Star College Scheme& Departmental Coordinators presented the reports of the activities of theirconcern Departments.

Department of Chemistrv:

Dr. S. B. Zanje, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry &Departmental Coordinator presented the various Departmental activitiesconducted under the scheme. He explained the additional practicalsintroduced for UG students under the scheme and also highlighted thestudent Research projects under the scheme. During his presentation heexplained how the Department has conducted online activities for thestudents to improve their skill and knowledge and utilizing digital platformfor teaching and learning process.

Department of Zoolow:Dr. Veena Mahajan, Assistant Professor & Head, Department of

Zoologr, presented various activities conducted under the scheme by theDepartment of Zoologr. She explained very well the innovative studentsResearch Project and additional practicals to be carried out under thescheme. She also explained training or skill development programme carriedout in collaboration with other Departments. At the end of the presentation,she briefed the proposed activities of the Department under the scheme tobe carried out till March 2022.

Department of Botanv:

Dr. Aparna Yadav, Assistant Professor of Botany & Departmentalcoordinator started the presentation with short explanation of list ofInstruments, Chemicals and Glasswares purchased under the scheme. Sheexplained different Students Research Project and DBT aided additionalpracticals to be performed during the session2O2I-2O22. She also explaineddifferent activities carried out by the Department to improve scientifictemperament among the students through online teaching and learningplatform.

A11 the Departmental Coordinators explained well the activities carriedout through online mode for the effective implementation of the scheme inCOVID- 19 Pandemic situations.

Department of Chemistry, Botany arrd Zoologr explained the onlineInstrument demonstration videos made available to College students,student of underprivileged schools and associated institutions to enhance

student's interest in the field of R2l

General Recommendation:

Dr. Garima Gupta, Programme officer, DBT-Star college Schemeobserved the presentation thoroughly and appreciated the efforts done bythe participating Departments under the scheme in difficult time of COVID-19 Pandemic lockdown situations. She encouraged the faculty members totake advantage of different financial support schemes available with DBT forAcademic Development, Publication of Articles and Higher Research studiesin Foreign Eminent Institutions. She also appealed the institution to createstrong feedback system and offer incentives for active students in theinternal assignment valuation system. At the end of her recommendations,She also suggested to carry out the objectives and goals to students ofunderprivileged schools to increase the Scientific temperament throughScience Setu Prograrnme.

Dr. Arti Shanware, Director, Rajiv Gandhi Biotechnologr Centre, R. T.M. Nagpur University, Nagpur observed the presentations and appreciatedthe activities carried out by the participating Departments in difficultPandemic situation. She appealed to organize some more FacultyDevelopment Programme and invited the faculties to carry out the researchprojects funded by different agencies. She also suggested to start 'StarStudent Award' for the best achievement of the students in the activitiescarried out under the scheme during the session. She also asked to motivatemore number of students for Post Graduation studies in Basic Science.

Dr. S. W. Dafare sought permission for the purchase of essentialBooks, Journals. Dr. Garima Gupta, Programme Officer granted thepermission for same.

Resolved to incorporate all the suggestions pointed out by the Expertsand DBT Representative in future under DBT-Star College Scheme.
