ndian Pharmaceutical Congress is the most important event of every year for Pharmacy professionals in India. It has

evolved as showcase of the progress made by Pharmacy profession in India. The unique feature of the Congress is its Imovement across the country, connecting with professionals . The Congress attracts stake holders from all facets of

the profession like Education, Regulatory and Industry. It proves to be window of the profession for numerous students

and has significant impact on their minds.

The 63rd Indian Pharmaceutical Congress will be held in Bengaluru in Dec 2011. Continuing the Vision 2020 theme over

last few years, the theme this year is “Vision 2020 – India The Pharma Powerhouse”. Our team of strong dedicated LOC has

already started working on various aspects of the Congress. The four important pillars of any successful Congress are

scientific programme, the venue , the exhibition and the arrangements /execution of the event. This year, the venue is

BIEC, which I rate as the best venue IPC has ever has till date. The scientific committee will work with the Scientific

convener of IPCA to put forth a relevant programme meaningful to all participants.

We have seen that the participation from the Industry is receding over last few years. This year we shall ensure that the

programme is attractive to Industry and we shall address the issues faced by the Industry. If India has to evolve as the

Global Pharmaceutical Powerhouse, there is need to upgrade the other facets of the profession namely Education and

Pharmacy Practice. I am sure that we shall have interactive sessions on the above resulting into a document with well

laid down action items to reach the desired objective. We shall focus on quality rather than quantity.

rd

I request you to support 63 Pharmaceutical Congress wholeheartedly. Our team is striving hard to ensure highest level

of value addition and satisfaction to all participants.

Please join us to make the Congress a successful event.

Welcome to the Garden City and the Knowledge Capital of India – Bengaluru.

With the growing focus on knowledge and entrepreneurship, India is recognized as one of the

powerhouses in the field of Pharmacy. While we are proud to produce quality generic drugs at

affordable prices for the world, we have also taken on the challenged to explore and discover

newer therapeutic molecules. The need to evaluate new areas for mitigation of ailments while

ensuring speed of bringing them to the suffering provides us the opportunity to be in the

cutting edge.

The 63rd Indian Pharmaceutical Congress at Bengaluru is being hosted by the Indian Pharmaceutical Association,
