WORLD-CLASS PRODUCT OF KOREA

Introducing World-Class Products of Korea‘World-Class Products of Korea (WCPK)’ are Korea’s Market-leading products that are recognized by the Korean government for achieving Strong international presence. Each year, the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy selects consumer and commercial products from diverse industries, which include IT parts, Medical devices, textiles and petrochemicals, and industrial equipment. They are selected by the World-Class Review Committee after a rigorous screening process.

The World-Class Product of Korea Project first began in 2001 to recognize products and companies that could become future drivers of growth for Korea’s exports and to improve Korea’s export competitiveness. World-Class products rank among the top five in their industries and command global market shares greater than 5%. Moreover, their global market sizes are greater than $50 million or their exports exceed $5 million. Currently, Korea has 660 World-Class Products, and 154 of them currently hold #1 market shares in their industries.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy also gives special recognition to ‘Korea’s Next Generation World-Class Products’, which are products likely to lead the industry within the next five years. They are from Korea’s strategic growth industries, such as medical device, renewable energy, IT integration systems, and green transportation systems. Their technologies have been newly certified in the past three years, representing Korea’s most advanced technologies.

The contribution made by the World-Class Products to Korea’s international trade is significant as they currently account for 37.8% of Korea’s total exports, and they have led to the diversification of Korea’s export categories. Also, the exports of World-Class Products have been growing each year at about 10%, a rate faster than the national average for exports. Thus, World-Class Products of Korea are playing an important role in Korea’s international trade.

With the special recognition by the Korean government, any buyers who are looking for Korea’s top products should pay close attention to these products. KOTRA, initially the Korea Trade Promotion Corporation, was established in 1962 as a

national trade promotion organization. Since then, it has successfully facilitated Korea's

rapid export-led economic development through various trade promotion activities such

as overseas market surveys and business matchmaking.

In August 1995, cross-border investment promotion and support for technological and

industrial cooperation projects were added to KOTRA's mandate, and it was renamed the

Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency(KOTRA).

KOTRA currently operates Invest KOREA, the national investment promotion agency.

Originally named the Korea Investment Service Center(KISC) in 1998, the agency was

relaunched as Invest KOREA in November 2003 to support foreign investors by offering

more powerful incentives and an expanded range of services.

KOTRA is now well-equipped to pursue its twin mandates of trade and investment

promotion to enhance national prosperity and competitiveness, with the ultimate goal of

positioning Korea as the business and economic hub of Northeast Asia. With its long-term

experience and expertise, KOTRA serves and assists all interested parties worldwide to do

business with Korea.

In order to execute its mandates more efficiently, KOTRA has opened an extensive

worldwide network of overseas Korea Business Centers. As of 2017, 127 Korea Business

Centers are operating in 86 countries.

And to take maximum advantage of the era of E-Commerce, KOTRA launched a number of

interactive websites, including Invest KOREA's homepage in 2003 and buyKOREA in 2004.

KOTRA Academy was launched in 2003 as a professional learning center for international

The Roll Chock is a type of housing that supports the rotation of a roll from both sides of a rolling mill. It is used for the rolling process of steel mills, wherein thick steel plates are pressed to create steel sheets. The required precision, strength, and durability has to be maintained. Especially, it is installed in piping to perform advanced control functions of various plant automation processes or HVAC (heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and control) of building system. The main body uses aluminum alloy to minimize piping stress due to product load. In order to improve corrosion resistance, the body is treated with anodizing and polyester powder coating.The actuator torque outputs range is specified from 80 Nm to 3,000 Nm (690 In-Lbs to 25,900 in-Lbs). The biggest problem with using the RO membranes can be contamination (or fouling) of the membrane layer. Especially in the case where surface water or wastewater contains highly-concentrated organic substances, the membrane may bear irreparable damage. However, CSM’s Fouling Resistant RO Membranes can significantly reduce such instances.Low amounts of hydrophobic substances (oil and organic) and other particles accumulate on the membrane surface due to the smooth surface and hydrophilic properties of CSM’s Fouling Resistant Membrane; and as a result, this type of membrane from CSM is recommended in potentially high fouling wastewater.
