It gives us immense pleasure to share with you that the Online teaching session

for the academic year 2021-2022 will begin from April 6, 2021, according to

the time schedule already shared.

On the first day, April 5, 2021, there will be an orientation of the students with

their respective class teacher. The regular Online Teaching Sessions would

begin from April 6, 2021, according to the time table shared.

We are sharing some general instructions which must be adhered to by every

student.

General Instructions:

• The students must wear their regular school uniform, for the class every day.

• They must be punctual for the class, as attendance will be taken.

• The sessions will begin with Gayatri Mantra and end with Shanti Path every

day.

• The online teaching sessions will be supplemented with videos which will be

sent to the students, for understanding the lesson /concept better and to avoid

any online issue.

• Parents are requested not to be seated with their wards during the class.

However, they may monitor their wards from time to time.

• The Topic introduced in the online session will be supplemented with

adequate homework and assignments.

• Every day, one student would be assigned to speak on any Moral Value.

• They must avoid having food when the class is going on.

• Parents are requested to strictly adhere to the date and time allotted to the

students for club activities and competitions.

• Parents are also requested to send the single PDF file of the practice

assignment for correction through the given email id of the respective subject

teacher on the assigned date.

• Parents are requested to check the Snap Homework regularly and also update

Snap Homework app regularly.

• IMPORTANT: Parents pls note that the school office timing is from 10.30

am to 1.00 pm (Monday to Friday) and 10.00am to 2.00pm (Saturday).

• In case, the parents have any query they may communicate through the class

D.A.V. Public School, Thane 'Reader's Award- 2022'

The school endeavours to cultivate and nurture reading habit among students for their holistic

development. In an initiative to encourage the young, avid readers to immerse themselves into

the world of books, the school is continuing with the initiative of urging the children to read as

many books as possible. The school will also observe ‘National Reading Day' for the students

of Std I to V on 19 June 2021.

In this regard, the school wishes to confer 'Reader's Award' to those students who will read

maximum books.

The event was a huge success in the academic year 2019-2020 as 108 students participated

enthusiastically and the school felicitated the winners with gifts, a medallion, books, library

membership, a trophy and a certificate containing a citation. The names of all the winners for

the year 2019-2020 are listed in the school website.

Owing to unprecedented response, the school decided to confer the Readers’ Award to overall

Best Reader from the Primary and Secondary section.

Mast. Aryan Khuspe of the Primary section and Miss. Kirtana Prakash from the

Secondary Section were conferred with this prestigious award.

This year too, the school is anticipating a surge in the number of participants.

We wish to carry on this enlightening tradition of boosting ' Reading' in our students.

In this regard, the school wishes to confer upon the students, who will read maximum number

of books, the 'Reader's Award'.

The criteria for the award are as follows:

● The students should read as many books as they can from 01 June 2021 to 01 March

2022.

● The students of Std III to V will make a presentation with the record of books read and

their reviews on it.

● The students of Std I and II will narrate the story, they have read, in class once a month.

● The students of Std I to V will participate in an oral test based on the books read.

Greetings!!!

After a successful beginning to the academic year 2021-2022, we are glad to declare the

summer vacations for the students of Std I to V begin from Saturday 22 May 2021 to

Wednesday 30 June 2021. The school reopens for Online Teaching Classes on

Thursday 1 July 2021 after the summer break.

PLEASE NOTE:

• VACATION ASSIGNMENTS: The students will enhance their application skills through

Interdisciplinary Project. During the Summer vacations, students have to complete the Project

given for all subjects as it is a part of Internal Assessment. The submission date for the same

will be intimated later. (Kindly refer the attached Pdf with the details of the same).

• UNIT TEST/PERIODIC TEST: Students of Std III to V have to revise the lessons/chapters,

go through the videos sent after the lesson completion for any reference and prepare themselves

for the Unit Test which will be held in the last week of July. Portion covered till July 9, 2021

will be included for the Test. The date sheet for the same will be sent in the first week of July.

Students of Std I & II must read and revise the lessons and concepts done in the month of April

and May.

• BEST READER’S AWARD: Students must enrich their vocabulary and knowledge by reading

books. The student, who reads the maximum number of books would be awarded with the “Best

Reader’s Award”. (Refer to the circular sent for the same)

• COLLECTION OF PENDING SPIRALWORKSHEETS:

➢ Parents of Std III to V those who have not collected the pending Spiral worksheets on the

scheduled dates can collect the same from school as per their convenience from May 24, 2021 to

June 18, 2021(only on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday) between 9 am to 12:00 noon.

➢ Parents of Std I and II must collect their pending spiral worksheets from school as per their

convenience from May 24, 2021 to June 18,2021(only on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and

Friday) between 9 am to 12:00 noon.

• Parents having any queries regarding fees may contact Mr. Vishal only on

In keeping with this motto, we wish to inform that the First Periodic Test will be

conducted Online for the students of Std III to V from 30 July, 2021 to 6 August, 2021.

Instructions for Periodic Test – I

● Students have to prepare for Internal Assessment (Periodic Test – I) which will

be conducted from 30 July, 2021 onwards.

● It will be conducted in regular school hours (12:15 pm to 1:15 pm) immediately

after the Assembly.

● It will be an Online Pen and Paper Test.

● It will be conducted for only Main subjects - English, Hindi, Marathi,

Mathematics, Science and Social Science.

● Maximum Marks for each Subject will be 20 Marks and time allotted for the

same will be 60 minutes.

● Test should be compulsorily written on the Test Notepad provided by the school.

● Camera to be kept on throughout the test compulsorily.

● During the Test (30/7/2021 to 6/8/2021), timings and schedule will be as follows:

This is a gentle reminder that Periodic Test - 1 for the students of Std III to Std V,

begins from Friday 30 July, 2021.

Please Note:

➢ Periodic Test - 1 is scheduled from 12:15 pm to 1:15 pm immediately after the

Assembly.

➢ Students are to write the Periodic Test - 1 in the School Note Pad compulsorily. It is

mandatory for the parents to sign in the Answer sheets as an invigilator.

➢ After the Periodic Test – 1 students must send the pdf of Answer sheets to the

respective Subject Teacher within an hour compulsorily.

➢ After each Periodic Test – 1 paper, students have to preserve Answer sheets. Once the

Greetings!

We are going to form the Executive Committee for the session 2021-2022. The interested

parents can nominate themselves for the same. Though every parent is a member of this PTA

but we also require to form the Executive Committee of PTA. Therefore, if you are

interested to be the member of Executive committee, kindly enrol your nomination before

31st July 2021 till 6:00 pm by filling the given Google Form. No entries will be accepted

later on at any reason.

ELECTION PROCESS

We require two representatives from each class (From Sr KG to std 10). If more than the

required nominations are received from each class, there will be a lottery system method.

Mode of draw(online or offline) will be shared by 4th August 2021. The election of the

Executive Committee will be held on 7th August 2021 at 12:00 noon. The Executive

Committee shall be working for one academic year.

You are requested to kindly read and understand the terms and conditions given below

before sending your name for the nomination.

A. FORMATION OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

The Executive Committee is formed together by the elected Parent Representatives from all

the classes and the class teachers. It is headed by the Principal as the President; and the

secretary is selected from the school staff. Then, there is a Vice President and a Joint

Secretary elected from the Parent Representatives.

The body comprises of 50% Parent Representatives and 50% of Teacher Representatives.

Details of the Committee Composition:

*Classes: 11 ( Sr KG to Std 10)

*Teacher Representative: 22 ( 2 from each class)

*Parent Representative: 22 ( 1 male and 1 female from each class)

B. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PTA

The Executive Committee is an integral part of the school management. It is a non-profit,

non-political and non-sectarian organization made up of school staff and parents which work

to support the school in a wide variety of ways. The function of the Executive Committee is

to support the school in the development and improvement of the students and the school in

all possible ways.

C. WHO CAN BE THE MEMBER OF THE COMMITTEE?

Membership of the Committee shall be open to - Parents whose wards attend school in

D.A.V. Public School, Thane. They shall have completed minimum two consecutive years in

the school. They shall be non-political, non-religious, positive, thoughtful, co-operative,

accessible, open minded and willing to contribute for betterment of the children and the

school. The parents, who were the members of the Executive Committee once before, will

not be eligible for the second term.

E. THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

1. The Executive committee will meet when necessary but, at least, twice per term.

2. Elected parents will be requested to communicate with the parents of that grade only for

the current issues of the school.

3. Be available and listen to the issues concerning the parent body at large and take it up with

school for satisfactory resolution.

4. The member will be appreciated if they present new ideas and suggestions to enhance the

all round education experience and work with school for review and implementation of the

same.

5. To arrange guest lecturers to give career and educational guidance etc.

6. To help in organizing events/activities for students.

CBSE is organizing Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav: SINGING OF RASHTRAGAAN

Our Nation is commemorating the 75th

Anniversary of India’s independence and a series of

events under Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav (AKAM) are organized by the Govt. of India.

The official journey of AKAM commenced on 12th March, 2021 and will end post a year of

the 75th anniversary on 15

th August, 2023. The Mahotsav will be celebrated as a Jan- Utsav

in the spirit of Jan-Bhagidari. The events under AKAM will revolve around 5 pillars

viz. Freedom Struggle, Ideas @75, Achievements @75, Actions @75 and Resolve@75.

The Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India is coordinating a number of events during this period, as a part of AKAM. One of the

upcoming events is singing “Rashtragaan” and uploading the same on specially designed

webpage http://rashtragaan.in.

● All students of all ages, their parents and other family members, teaching and

non-teaching staff and their family members must be informed about the activity

and requested for their energetic participation.

● All participants may be advised to visit the website http://rashtragaan.in

and self-record their rendition of the National Anthem and upload.

● The Participants can choose their convenient date and time till 14

th August 2021 to

record and upload the rendition of the National Anthem.

Our nation is celebrating the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence. To commemorate this, a series of events under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is planned by the Government of India. As part of the year long celebrations, the following activities may be organized in schools to make the students aware regarding freedom struggle.

A. Awareness regarding India’s Freedom Struggle (Class I- V)

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PERIODIC TEST –2

• The Sample Paper is already shared with you. The format is similar to the Main

Question Paper. Internal choices are given in each Section to reduce the Exam

Strain for students. The students will solve the Sample Paper in the Note Pad sheets

and submit the same along with the Main Answer sheets as it is a part of Internal

Assessment.

• Periodic test will be conducted Online. Students must write the Exam compulsorily

in the Answer Sheets provided by the school.

• For the Test, all Main subjects will be evaluated out of 40 marks.

• Subjects - Moral Education, General Knowledge, Naitik Shiksha, Computer and

Art will be awarded grades.

• Camera has to be kept on throughout the Test compulsorily.

• TEST will be conducted in the following manner:

12:00 noon to 12.15 pm Assembly &

Reading of General Instructions

12:15 pm to 1:00 pm Section A

1:15 pm to 2:00 pm Section B

2:30 pm to 3:15 pm Section C

• On the Test Day, students should be in school uniform and must be ready with

materials like one Main Sheet, Exam Notepad, Compass box, Stationeries etc.

• The respective subject Tr. would be conducting a Doubt clearing session (40 mins)

for the students one day before each exam. The classes for the same would be

scheduled and informed by the subject teacher on SnapHW.

• After the test, students will submit the PDF of answer sheets within 30 minutes

of completion of Exam. The PDF of answer sheets has to be sent to Mail ID provided

by the Class Teacher (subject wise) compulsorily. Record for the same will be

maintained.

SUBMISSION OF ANSWER SHEETS

❖ After all Tests are over, the envelope containing Answer sheets (All Main Subjects

and Graded Subjects) should be sealed and parents will deposit the same in school

on the scheduled day. Please adhere to the given timing.

Std I to VII Date: 15.09.2021 Dear Parents, Greetings! It gives us immense pleasure to share that the recently held “Super Spellrzzz” competition was a thumping success. It was very well received by one and all and offered a very novel experience to the students. All the participants and winners of Super Spellrzz will be felicitated with special prizes and certificates. Mental math is a great way to keep your mind sharp!

In an initiative to enhance the students’confidence, develop interest in Maths, encourage the students to appear for various competitive examinations, the school is planning to conduct a Mental Maths Competition – “Mental Gymnastics”for the students of Std I to Std VII. Please find below the details about the same: 1. The “Mental Gymnastics Competition” will begin in the month of

October (Date will be intimated later.) 2. It will be conducted at 3 Levels i.e. Level 1 - Through Google Form (Note: Link for the same will be

shared. Google Form will be operational only for half an hour) Level 2 – Boost Your Brain Puzzle Round

(Note: Puzzles will be shown which the students will solveon a paper and then mail it in the pdf format within 5 minutes on completion of the stipulated time given. E-mail address for the same will be shared later.)

Level 3 - The third round will be a ‘Think Quick’ - Rapid fire round.

(Each Participant will be asked a series of questions with a time frame of 1minute. Zoom link will be shared for the same.)

Camera should be on throughout all the three levels.The students should excel in each level in order to be eligible to participate in the next level. Its Time Bound and Multi-Mode Practice and Competition Environment will help students to sharpen their Mental Maths Skills. The Syllabus will be the fundamental concepts of Mathematics based on their grade level. Student’s numeracy skills, speed and accuracy of arithmetic calculations, logical and problem solving skills will be tested.

The Registration Amount for the ‘Mental Gymnastics” Competition’ is Rs. 100/- per student.
