Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi has launched a new action cam to rival the GoPro Hero — at least, in China anyway.

The Yi Action Camera now get its impressive low price of 399 CNY (just $64) and offers some eye-catching specs to match.

The Yi itself features a 16-megapixel camera capable of shooting 1080p video at 60 frames per second — better on paper than the $130 GoPro Hero, which can only shoot 1080p video at 30 frames per second. For such a cheap device, the Yi uses a high-quality image sensor from Sony (an Exmor R CMOS) like GoPro Hero. It offers 64G8 of built-in storage — twice what's available on the GoPro Hero. Dear Paula,

I hope this letter finds all of you in the best of health and spirits. It has been a very long time since we met or wrote to each other. So I thought of penning down a few lines to check things with you.

We just got back from our vacation to Thailand and had a great time. You must see the amazing places there. If you happen to ever plan a holiday to that side of the world do let me know and I shall give you tips on sight seeing, shopping, etc.

I want to share something that is disturbing me these days. Mom has not been keeping good health and I am really worried for her. Sometimes I see bad dreams about mom and they wake me up in the middle of the night. I am sure you know what bad dreams I am talking about. Please don't share this with anybody and I know I can trust you on this.

Anyway you say what is up with you and how is work? I can see that it is keeping you really busy, as I haven't heard from you at all.

Family is something very precious because nothing can replace the role of it in this world. That's the place where I could find a peaceful and everlasting affection. I really love my family. Now I'll tell you about my family.

My father is a disciplined person but he remains friendly and understands our needs. He is a lawyer who is quite famous for his decisiveness. He always decides a case fairly and impartially person or group. My father is always busy with his work but he never forgets his family. He always invites us to go to vacation every weekend. He thinks our happiness is his happiness too.

My mom is a housewife. She used to be a teacher but my father asked her to stop and focus on taking care of the family. She always does her tasks diligently and patiently. I think my mother is also the best chef. She always cooks delicious food for us.

THE BIRD WITH TWO HEADS

Long, long ago, there lived a strange bird in a huge banyan tree. The tree stood beside a river. The strange bird had two heads, but only one stomach.

Once, while the bird was flying high in the sky, he saw an apple shaped fruit lying on the bank of the river. The bird swooped down, picked up the fruit and began to eat it. This was the most delicious fruit the bird had ever eaten.

As the bird had two heads, the other head protested, "I'm your brother head. Why don't you let me also eat this tasty fruit?" The first head of the bird replied, "Shut up.You know that we've only one stomach. Whichever head eats, the fruit will go to the same stomach. So it doesn't matter as to which head eats it. Moreover, I'm the one who found this fruit. So I've the first right to eat it."

Hearing this, the other head became silent. But this kind of selfishness on the part of the first head pinched him very much. One day, while flying, the other head spotted a tree bearing poisonous fruits. The other head immediately descended upon the tree and plucked a fruit from it. "Please don't eat this poisonous fruit," cried the first head. "If you eat it, both of us will die, because we have a common stomach to digest it." "Shut up!" shouted the other head. "Since I have plucked this fruit, I have every right to eat it."

The Black Out

Bang! Suddenly I woke up and I found myself lying on the soft green muddy grass. I didn't understand what had happened. All I knew was that my whole face was blood and everyone started to crowd. I started to shake in shock. I was looking for my mum but all I could see was blurry faces crowding me. I spotted my mum through all the heads. She started running the minute she saw me down and she pushed towards me. I wanted to say my arm hurt most but I was so in shock I could not speak. My little sister told the whole story to my mum as tears still dribbled down my cheek. I finally remembered what had happened as blood was being cleaned off my face. I remembered swinging on the swing on a hot sunny day. Then my hands got very slippery as I swung back.The next minute it felt like my hands had lost control. Before I knew it my hands had already slipped off the chains. I tried to reach for the chains but my hands could not grip on them. Then bang, I smashed into the muddy green grass. Then all of a sudden I felt a crunch in my wrist.

Turkeys are large birds that are related to other game birds such as pheasants, chickens and quails. Despite their large size, turkeys are adept fliers and can be seen flying beneath the forest canopy iooking for somewhere to perch.

Turkeys do nest in the trees. They are most commonly found in open forests, woodlands and grasslands.

Turkeys are omnivorous animals. Turkeys primarily eat nuts, seeds, fruits, berries and insects. Turkeys also eat small reptiles, amphibians and even rodents should they get the chance.

During the mating season, male turkeys make gobbling noises to attract a female turkey to mate with. The female turkey finds somewhere safe to make her nest and lays between 6 and 12 eggs which hatch after an incubation period of about a month.

Today, turkeys are one of the most popular meats to eat on festive occasions such as Christmas and Thanksgiving and is farmed in large numbers across the western world. It is thought that over 250 million turkeys are farmed in the United States every year.

Imogiri is the official cemetery of the royal descendents from Yogyakarta and Surakarta. This cemetery, built in 1645, is situated on a beautiful hill about 12 km from Yogyakarta and easily accessible by bus or car. The royal graveyard is reachable by 345 stone steps leading to it.

This Graveyard is the tomb of Sultan Agung Hanyokrokusumo, the king of the Islamic Mataram Kingdom. Besides, all the kings of the Mataram Kingdom, from Sultan Hamengku Buwono I until Hamengku Buwono IX and their families as well as the Surakarta Kingdoms were all buried at the Imogiri Royal Cemetery. The tombs are built within three main courtyards.

Everyday many people visit Imogiri and step up on 345 stairs to reach the top of the hill where the tomb of the kings rested. Entry into the smaller courtyards housing the tombs of the princes is allowed, but the tomb can only be visited only on Mondays 09.00 - 12.00 and Fridays 13.00 - 16.00. The visitors must wear the traditional Javanese dress, which however can be hired on the spot at a modest fee. The cemetery is closed during the Moslem month of Ramadhan.

The Penny Wise Monkey

There was a King who was fond of traveling, but he didn't like to visit his own country. Instead, he went to other countries. One day, he left his kingdom with his soldiers for hunting. After walking for the whole morning in the forest, they took some rest. Then the soldiers fed the horses with peas.

One of the monkeys was keeping a track of the things done by the king's men from a distance. When he saw peas offered to the horses, he jumped down at once to get some of them. He soon filled his mouth and hands with the peas and then went up the tree and sat down to eat them. Suddenly, one pea fell from his hand to the ground. The monkey dropped all the peas he had in his hands and ran down to look for the lost pea at once. Unluckily, he could not find that pea. He climbed up the tree again and sat at rest. He looked very sad. He said to himself, "To get one pea, I threw away what I had".

The King watched the monkey from the camp and said to himself, "That stupid monkey lost much to gain a little. I will go back to my own country and enjoy what I have". Thus, the King and his army marched back to their own country.
