ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini berjudul “PENGENALAN SENI UKIR KAMORO SEBAGAI KARYA SENI KHAS
SUKU KAMORO DI TIMIKA PAPUA MELALUI PERANCANGAN BUKU KOLEKSI KATALOG”.
Didalam makalah ini penulis menggali permasalahan yang membuat karya seni ukir kamoro
menurun dengan metode wawancara dan videolog sebagai cara mencari pokok masalah yang
terjadi.
Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kebanyakan warga suku Kamoro beralih profesi
di karenakan nilai jual hasil ukir mereka yang tergolong rendah dan juga pasar yang kurang
memadai membuat mereka urbanisasi ke kota sehingga generasi muda yang tumbuh di kota
tidak mengerti ciri khas mereka sebagai pengukir. Hal tersebut membuat ciri khas mereka
sebagai keturunan maramoe semakin menurun dan menghilang perlahan-lahan.
Dalam penelitian penulis mempunyai karya yang diharapkan mampu memotifasi
masyarakat suku kamoro agar mau kembali mengingat jati diri mereka yaitu dengan
pembuatan Buku katalog yang menampilkan karya-karya seni dan sejarah suku kamoro yang
di mana akan membuka kembali wawasan mereka tentang pentingnya menjaga dan
melestarikan seni yang mencerminkan kehidupan khas suku Kamoro. Karya desain katalog ini
juga penulis buat sebagai apresiasi terhadap pengukir suku kamoro yang hingga saat ini masih
menekuni ciri khas suku kamoro yaitu sebagai maramoe (Pengukir).
ABSTRACT
This research entitled "INTRODUCTION OF ART CAMPAIGN OF KAMORO AS A KAMAS ART OF
KAMORO TAMIKA TAMIKA PAPUA THROUGH DESIGN OF CATALOG COLLECTION BOOK". In
this paper the authors of lit articles that the art of carving kamoro decreased by the method
of interview and videolog as a way of looking for the subject matter that happened.
The results showed that Kamoro ethnic groups switched professions because of the low selling
value of their carved products as well as the inadequate market making urbanization into the
city into a young generation growing in the city did not understand their trademark as a
carver. The thing that made their trademark as maramoe descendants diminished and
disappeared slowly.
In the study the authors have a work that is expected to motivate the people of kamoro tribe
to want to re-remember their identity is by making a catalog book featuring art and history of
kamoro tribe which will re-open their insight about the interests and preserve the art that
rotates the life typical Kamoro . This catalog design work is also the author made as an
appreciation of the kamoro tribe carver who currently still pursue the characteristic kamoro
tribe as a maramoe (Engraver).
PRAKATA
Puji syukur kehadirat Tuhan yang maha kuasa atas segala rahmat dan kuasanya
sehingga penulis dapat menyelesaikan laporan perancangan ini dalam bentuk maupun isinya
yang sangat sederhana.
Dalam pembuatan karya ilmia ini juga penulis mengucapkan banyak terimikasi kepada
piak-piak yang suda membantu dan memotivasi penulis dalam penyelesaian makalah ini yaitu
kepada : bapak dan ibu yang selalu mendoakan penulis, Bapak Ign Dono Sayoso selaku dosen
pendamping yang selalu memberi arahan kepada penulis, pasanga (pacar) yang selalu
menyemangati penulis, almaruma Tante Hetwi Waramori selaku orng yang selalu memberi
semangat dan dukungan untuk menyelesaikan studi saya dan juga Organisasi IPMAMI
tempan penulis menyelesaikan karya tulis ini penulis mengucapkan banyak terimahkasi.
Makalah ini berisi tentang seni ukir suku Kamoro Timika Papua. Semoga makalah ini
dapat di gunakan sebagai sala satu acuan , petunjuk maupun pedoman dan juga berguna
untuk menamba pengetahuan bagi para pembaca. Laporan penelitian ini penulis akui masi
jau dari kata sempurna masi banyak kekurangan dikarenakan pengalaman penulis yang
sangat kurang. Oleh sebab itu penulis harapkan kepada para pembaca memberikan masukan-
masukan yang bersifat membangun untuk kesempurnaan makalah ini.
