Prerequisite for this release - products:

AVEVA Licensing System 1.1 or later - with an appropriate License File.

Note:

This product version does NOT work with AVEVA Flexman.

If upgrading from AVEVA Licensing System 1.1.1, please install Fix release 1.1.1.3in order to correct an uninstall defect in that release. Once this has been doneversion 1.1.1.3 can be uninstalled and replaced with later versions.

Microsoft Office 2010 (32-bit) is required for some functions: Optimum operation of the AVEVA Administration GUI requires Arial Unicode MS

font, supplied with Microsoft Office (2000 onwards) and also with Microsoft OfficeVisio.

Microsoft Office Excel import requires “.NET Programmability Support” enabledwhen Office is installed. This can be found under “Advanced customization ofapplications” and installs the Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.dll; without this, Excelimport will not work.

To get the performance benefits given by the AVEVA Cache Service, which is installedwith AVEVA Everything3D™ or AVEVA Engineering™, you need to enable MicrosoftMessage Queuing (MSMQ). This is achieved using the Windows Components feature ofWindows Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.

If using AVEVA Marine 12.1.SP4.8 or above thenmarine.bat already calls set_forward_compatibility.bat , so there is no need to make anychanges.

Note Global): AVEVA Global 3.1 has been released to support the AVEVA Engineering14.1 and AVEVA Administration 1.2 Products, but is also compatible with all listedversions above. Administration of Global 3.1 projects can be undertaken by the Adminmodule in AVEVA E3D1.1™ or AVEVA PDMS12.1.SP4. However, if the features in AVEVAAdministration 1.2 and Engineering 14.1 are utilised then all locations in the Global

project should be upgraded to use Global3.1.

This release supersedes the full release 52208 AVEVA Administration 1.2.

To Install product release:

Please read the installation guide, which is visible on the product installation setupscreen when the setup.exe file is started.

Installations using setup.exe will install in C:\Program Files(x86)\AVEVA\Administration1.2.0 by default. The individual .msi files will use the drivewith most free space by default.

Once you have completed the installation, you will be given the option to install thelatest sample AVEVA Plant projects, by checking a „Download the latest Projects‟ tick-box.

It is important that any files, including configuration files or sample data, that need to beupdated by users are accessible for read, write etc. so they are not by default installedwith the software. This is particularly important when installing in Program Files due tothe introduction of User Account Control (UAC). In particular, this makes it important toensure that files that need to be written are accessible by users without Administratorprivileges. This applies to folders specified by environment variables such asAVEVA_DESIGN_WORK and AVEVA_DESIGN_USER. The AVEVA Everything3D™ and withAVEVA Engineering™ installers have been designed to allow the separate definition ofsuitable folders, with different defaults.

NOTES:

It is not recommended that any combination of AVEVA products are installed inthe same folder because AVEVA does not guarantee runtime compatibility betweenSeparate Products on different release cycles, and the uninstall of one of themsubsequently damaging the other.

The default location for projects isC:\Users\Public\Documents\AVEVA\Administration\Projects1.2.0 for Admin 1.2.However, the option to download projects will install the E3D1.1 projects in thedefault location C:\Users\Public\Documents\AVEVA\Plant\E3D\Projects1.1.0. Toenable the AVEVA Administration Product to locate the E3D1.1 project the defaultproject location should be set on install, otherwise changed in the evars.bat orcustom_evars.bat files.

PRODUCT QUALITY STATEMENT

The development, maintenance and testing of AVEVA Solutions’ software products is carried out inaccordance with the company’s KEYSTONE lifecycle processes and this document includes asummary of the testing carried out on this release and a list of significant defects known to existat the time of release.

Development Testing

Developers have carried out unit testing of each enhancement and/or fix in the developmentenvironment to verify that any new functionalities have been correctly implemented and identifieddefects have been corrected.

Regression tests have been run in the development environment to verify that enhancementsand/or fixes have not adversely affected the integrity of the product.

System Testing

Limited independent system testing has been carried out on this product, as released, to verifythat it installs correctly in all supported configurations, that any new functionalities have beencorrectly implemented and identified defects have been corrected.

Acceptance Testing

AVEVA’s Product Readiness Authority (PRA) is satisfied that the System Testing for this release issufficient to assure product quality.

Any exceptions found during Acceptance Testing or after release will be reported in the ProductRelease Latest Update Note on AVEVA's support web site
