2. Apa bedanya manajemen sumberdaya manusia, manajemen personalia &
manajemen people?
Manajemen personalia dalam Hariandja (2002) adalah perencanaan,
pengorganisasian, pengarahan, dan pengawaan kegiatan-kegiatan pengadaan,
pemberian kompensasi, pengintegrasian, pemeliharaan, dan pelepasan sumber
daya manusia agar tercapai tujuan organisasi, dan masyarakat.
Menurut Flippo dalam Handoko (1987,h.3), manajemen personalia
adalah perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pengarahan, dan pengawasan kegiatan-
kegiatan pengadaan, pengembangan, pemberian kompensasi, pengintegrasian,
pemeliharaan, dan pelepasan sumber daya manusia agar tercapai berbagai tujuan
individu, organisasi dan masyarakat.
People management can be defined as the process of controlling and
monitoring individuals. The concept of people management is widely used in
organizations where the manager's most important task is to manage people. In
order to increase the efficiency of the people the manager has to lead, motivate
and inspire people. Sometimes rules are defined to manage people like time lines,
duties etc. In order to manage the people Human Resource Departments are
established in the organizations. These departments are specifically responsible to

People management, also known as human resource management
(HRM), encompasses the tasks of recruitment, management, and providing

ongoing support and direction for the employees of an organization. These tasks
can include the following: compensation, hiring, performance management,
organization development, safety, wellness, benefits, employee motivation,

Menurut Hasibuan (2003,h.9), perbedaan Manajemen Sumber Daya
Manusia dengan Manajemen Personalia sebagaiberikut:
a. MSDM dikaji secara makro, sedangkan manajemen personalia dikaji secara
mikro.
b. MSDM menganggap bahwa karyawan adalah (asset) utama organisasi, jadi
harus dipelihara dengan baik. Manajemen personlia menganggap bahwa
karyawan adalah factor produksi, jadi harus dimanfaatkan secaraproduktif.
c. MSDM pendekatannya secara moderen, sedangkan manajemen personalia
pendek atau secara klasik.
So we conclude that the differences among Human Resource Management,
Personnel Management and people management.
