Acne is an infammatory disorder o the lining pilosebaseus accompanied

blockage and accumulation o keratin materials. Treatment o acne with

antibiotics and chemicals have side eects such as antibiotic resistance and skin

irritation, so that people preer products that contain natural ingredients because

the saety and side eects are relatively small compared to chemical substances.

This study aims to develop an anti-acne gel preparation o ethanol extract o

propolis. ormula preparations were made on the basis o carbopol gel and

concentration o ethanol extract o propolis is used by !."#, $."#, and %."#. &el

preparation physico-chemical properties tested which include organoleptic, p',

viscosity, dispersive power, and adhesion during ( weeks o storage as well as

irritation test and )oy.

The results showed that the greater the concentration o ethanol extract o

propolis gel preparation used color will be tan with the smell grew stronger, and

more viscous consistency. The results o the statistical test A*+A ollowed by

/ t-test showed no signi0cant dierence between the three ormulas which

include viscosity, dispersive power, and adhesion, but there are signi0cant

dierences in the p' o the preparation. The third ormula is non-irritating to the

skin and the most preerred ormula is a ormula $.
