1.0 Introduction
Sri Inkeshaf Ali proposes to conduct semi mechanized opencast method quarrying for
Colour granite extraction in an area of 7.2 ha in Survey No. 239, Thirumalapur Village,
Gollapally Mandal, Jagitial District, Telangana State. In principle of grant of quarry lease
notice was issued by Department of Mines and Geology, Government of Telangana vide
notice no. 15786/R1-3/2016 dated 04.01.2017 for a period of 20 Years. 1st extension of time
for the quarry lease application was issued by Department of Mines and Geology,
Government of Telangana vide proceedings no. 15786/R1-3/2016 dated 14.12.2017. Mining
Plan was approved by Deputy Director of Mines and Geology, Warangal vide letter No.
5407/QP-2/KNR/2017 dated 27.01.2018. It is proposed to produce Colour granite of 30938
m3/annum. Capital proposed for the quarrying is Rs. 70 Lakhs. As per the ADMG letter,
there is one mine lease within the 500 m surrounding area and total mine lease area in the
cluster is 9.2 ha.
2.0 Quarry Lease Area Location
Sri Inkeshaf Ali proposes to conduct semi mechanized opencast quarrying for granite
production of 30938 m3/Annum. The quarry lease area of 7.2 ha in Survey No. 239,
Thirumalapur Village, Gollapally Mandal, Jagitial District, Telangana State. The quarry lease
area falls in the Survey of India topo sheet no. 56 N/1 with co-ordinates of Latitude
18°47'42.55"N and Longitude 79°01'27.18"Ewith an elevation of 266 m. The nearest village
is Shankaraopeta located at a distance of 1.2 km from the quarry lease area in NW
direction. The nearest town Jagtial located at a distance of 10 km in NW direction. Nearest
Railway station is Jagtial Lingampet at a distance of 14.4 km in West direction. Karimnagar
to Jagtial road passing at a distance of 12 km from the QL area in West direction.
Shankaraopeta to Gollapalli village road is passing adjacent to our mine lease area in North
direction. Zabtapur RF is located at a distance of 5.1 km in SW direction. Polas RF is located
at a distance of 3.6 km in NW direction. Kalleda RF is located at a distance of 7.4 km in
North direction. Godavari South Canal is passing at a distance 6.4 km in SW direction. Some
seasonal nalas are flowing towards in East direction. There is no national/state boundary,
national park, wildlife/bird sanctuary and critically polluted areas within 10 km radius from
the quarry lease area. The details of the quarry lease area are presented in Table A-1.

3.0 Estimation and Calculation of Geological Reserves
The reserves and resources of die Colour granite are together were computed based on the
geological cross-section method, which is presumed to be more accurate. A total of 2
Geological cross - section where drawn across the contour to get elevation of geological
cover, then contour elevation from ground to exposures in the field are sectional viz. a-a'
and b-b'. The area of Colour Granite was measured in each of these cross sections and
multiplied by respective lengths of influence to get its volume. The reserves of the Colour
granite are categorized into proved (111), probable (121) and Possible (122) categories.
The sum of reverses hidden in the barrier zone/buffer zone, pit slope and restrictions due
to mineable depth is computed and deducted from the true reserves and resources to get
the actual available mineable reserves and resources area presented in the below table.
Based on Quarrying reserves and resources it is estimated that only 10% of the actual
dimensional exportable recovery and 15% is sub-grade for least marketable value granite
block. Therefore, the total volume of rock mass is multiplied with a recovery factor of 25%
is obtain front geological reserves, the balance 75% shall be account for quarried waste
(overburden, weathered granite and fissure cutouts) of rock mass and dumped in the yard
allocated for this purpose. Category wise in situ Geological Reserves of Colour Granite are
given below in table A-2

4.0 Mining
The mining operations are carried out by semi mechanization as opencast mining by
developing multiple benches with 6m height. The Sheet rock is exposed and developed into
a working face. Splitting is effected by wedging the line holes by using Jack hammers
operated by compressor and excavator. The rock will be cutting with the help of wire saw
machine. Splitted blocks will be dressed into geometrical shape. Transportation will be
made by trucks to dispatching points.

6.0 Year wise Development and production for five years
1st Year: During the 1st year operations will be southern part to east direction of the quarry
and the area is about 1350 m2. The total volume will be excavated is about 87750 cu.m and
considering a recovery of 25% about 21938 cu.m of Granite blocks will be produced and
remaining 65812 cu.m of waste will be generated.
2nd Year: During the 2nd year, 1st bench development from Western part extends to east
direction of the quarry and the area is about 2250 m2. The total volume will be excavated is
about 123750 cu.m and considering a recovery of 25% about 30938 cu.m of Granite blocks
will be produced and remaining 92812 cu.m of waste will be generated.
3rd Year: During the 3rd year, 2nd bench development from Western part extends to middle of
the quarry and the area is about 2100 m2. The total volume will be excavated is about 84000
cu.m and considering a recovery of 25% about 21000 cu.m of Granite blocks will be
produced and remaining 63000 cu.m of waste will be generated.
4th Year: During the 4th year, 3rd bench development from Western part extends to eastern
part of the quarry and the area is about 1170 m2. The total volume will be excavated is about
35100 cu.m and considering a recovery of 25% about 8775cu.m of Granite blocks will be
produced and remaining 26325 cu.m of waste will be generated.
5th Year: During the 5th year, 4th bench development from Western part and ends in center
East and south of the quarry and the area is about 1485 m2. The total volume will be
excavated is about 29700 cu.m and considering a recovery of 25% about 7425cu.m of
Granite blocks will be produced and remaining 22275 cu.m of waste will be generated. The
proposed production of ROM and Marketable blocks is shown in table A-3.

ANNEXURE – II
Drilling
Drill hole pattern will be uniform single lined pattern, equidistance holes from 6 m to 9 m in
depth. Diamond wire-saw saw cutting machine will be major part in the quarrying
operations. The prime objective of drilling and blasting will be to dislodge the biggest
possible primary blocks from the parental rock and to maintain the stipulate dimensions of
the Quarry bench at the same time. The objective should always to obtain as big gang-saw
sizes, as possible, because the bigger sized blocks are always priced high in the market. The
dislodged blocks will be lifted to the top surface by using Derrick Crane and dressed to
appropriate shapes and sizes by using jack-hammer drills, hammers and chisels. The sizes of
the finished commercial blocks produced in the proposed area.
11.1 Drilling Parameter
Drill hole diameter – 34 mm
Spacing depends upon the size of the boulder, in general it 15 cms from hole to hole for
better splitting, Burden and Spacing are to be 3m and 0.3m with a depth 6m to 9m.

Water Requirement
Water requirement for the project is mainly for Domestic source, maintaining the green belt
and also for sprinkling on the haulage roads to mitigate dust emissions. The water shall be
drawn from nearby villages. The water requirement of the project is presented in Table A-5.

Site Services
It is proposed to provide the site services like mine office and other statutory constructions
like rest shelter, first aid, work shed and drinking water as required near the quarry lease
area. Drinking water will be supplied to the workers from the bore well opened in the
adjacent agricultural field or from nearby village.

Solid Wastes Generation and Management Plan
During the five years period the total quantity of waste likely to be generated is 270225 m3.
It consists of granite blocks of various sizes, shapes and dimension. Solid waste generated
year wise for first five years plan as below Table A-6.

Dump Area
During the five years plan period about 270225 m3 of waste material will be generated. This
waste will be dumped in an area of 10000 m2 (1.0 ha) to a height of 18 m within the quarry
lease area. Step dumping will be resorted. When the dumps reach their optimum height
suitable greenery will be grown on these dumps to stabilize them.
