MALAYSIA EDUCATIONAL STATISTICS
QUICK FACTS 2019
PREFACE
uick Facts 2019 is part of the continuous effort of Educational Planning and Research Division, MOE in providing accurate and concise statistics on education. The primary purpose of Quick Facts 2019 is to provide a compilation of statistical information ranging from pre-primary to tertiary level. Quick Facts 2019 includes a selection of data from many sources, government, private and international organization. The publication contains information on a variety of subjects in the field of education statistics, including the number of schools, enrolment, teachers, educational outcomes and federal funds for education. Supplemental information of population trends and economic trends provide background for evaluating data. This year, we have expanded the scope by including new table on educational attainment of adult population. It is hopefully that this publication will be able to fulfill the expectation of educational policy makers, planners and researchers as a tool to facilitate informed decision making. I believe it will also help other agencies, and international organizations to understand better the Malaysian education system. On behalf of EPRD, I would like to convey my appreciation to all divisions in the Ministry of Education, other government and private agencies and to all those involved for their contribution in the publication of Quick Facts 2019.
