„Acknowledgments
In presenting these family records, the author wishes to express
her thanks and appreciation to those who have helped in collecting
the material.
Mrs. Gertrude Wait Bisbee (#305) supplied a record of the
descendants of Nathaniel Howes (#4) with the exception of those
descended from William Almerin Howes (#19). Almus Reed
Speare (#232) listed the descendants of Mary Howes (#8), and
George W. Brown (#173) the descendants of Lucretia Howes
(#6). Much data of the descendants of Anne Howes (#9) has
been secured from letters of Emory Benjamin Willett (#137). To
these and to all who, by answering my letters of inquiry have con¬
tributed to these records, I extend my sincere thanks.
It is to be regretted that so many letters have not been
answered, else these records would have been more complete.
Jennie J. Wight Howes
