Peta Horn | HornbeePeta Horn is the Skills Development Director of Future Leaders Development and Owner of Hornbee. She is responsible for the design, development, management, and facilitation of all learning programs. Peta has led and designed courses and programmesacross the African continent for over 300 organisations, across all levels of the organisation. Peta Horn is a registered constituent Assessor and Moderator for a wide range of sectors and is an HR Business Partnering consultant and a certified Personality Compass consultant and ETD Practitioner.

Carmen Meyer | Dotconnectors
Carmen Meyer has extensive experience in assisting Corporate South Africa with various solution driven opportunities that are available within the skills development environment. Her background includes BEE consulting, Skills Development and Employment Equity, which allows her to fully appreciate business needs holistically amongst all the different transformation requirements and business objectives. She has worked with large corporates, including Telkom, Vodacom, Cell C, Rain, Cliffe Dekker, Ithuba Lotteries, Imvula Security to name a few.

Using the critical and scarce skills to access grants

Scarce skill Occupation where there is a shortage of qualified and experienced people currently or anticipated in the future.
Critical skills Specific or generic skills within the occupation - problem solving , language and mathematical skills and ICT Skills.

The SETA’s compiles a top 10 scarce skills list through a modelling exercise that ranks priority skills across their sub-sectors. In compiling the top scarce skills, from which the priority list was derived, the following were considered:
Number of times an occupation is identified as scarce in the WSP submission
Occupations identified as scarce skills per subsector during interviews
Reasons for scarcity given during the survey
